I use the T2Pro and hands-down for the money you will not find a better thermal scanner out there anywhere. I use a dedicated older iPhone for the scanner. I use it for some of the reasons that you stated. I use it for quick scans of the area around me while hunting, quick scans of my path to a deer stand and quick scans of the property around my home. It’s good for finding fresh blood trails and downed animals. I have the unit connected to the phone which is connected to a grip which I hang from my neck for immediate access. In my opinion it works as well as a $1000 thermal monocular. The lens is focusable in addition to the zoom on the phone and for those that are interested you can record video with audio directly on the phone. I also do NOT get the same eye fatigue that I do when using a thermal monocular and it keeps both my eyes free to do other things since I only have to take quick glances at the screen for any activity. 100% worth the money 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
AGM is getting their shit together and producing better products here lately but they simply don’t stack up to iray. Don’t know if you have stumbled across the O’Neil ops guys in your research but they iray thermals and have some of the best night hunting videography on TH-cam.
Great video! Thank you so much for sharing your time and your knowledge. I've been researching IR and thermal scopes for both sport hunting and SHTF tactical purposes for about 6 months now. And just about the time I think I'm ready to buy one, I find a better one at a better price. I also happen to be poor (translate... I have a wife that spends my money very well). So I have to plan over time for a purchase such as this. Again, thanks for sharing your time with us. I look forward to many more.
Esse flir scout deveria custar uns 150 dólares no máximo, muito ruim peguei um acabei devolvendo, no Brasil tem doido pedindo mais de 5 mil reais em um!
Great review. Just what I need to use to check bearings and tyre hot spots on a 200 tonne road train. I do a lot of remote camping as well so will be money well spent.
Pretty impressed how far thermal has come at this price point in 2023. I have this and the P series. The T2 definitely is vastly superior for further away stuff, inside the house the P series FOV is great but outside not so much. While the T2 is almost too zoomed in inside a house it's still usable.
Important thing to note here is that the T2pro is using a $500-1000 high pixel density screen, battery, processor (you're phone) where the other 2 are making and selling you all that from scratch
In case anyone is wondering, the T2S+ from Infiray has a bit of a wider angle, but a bit less range, and is a bit more affordable. Infiray has some of the best thermal optics on the market in my opinion, and now i think im going to try out the T2 pro as well! Thanks for the great video!
I got the T2 Pro and it is impressive. Its comparable to pulsar's thermal monocles with higher resolution.I am thinking of buying T3 Pro just to test it.
T2S+ is designed for circuit board repair, HVAC for the engineer, T2pro is designed for long range watching, for example hunting. these two camera use different app
@@ThermalSpoter1988 Exactly! The T2S+ still does well at some distance however, 30-100m still shows pretty clear quality. The narrow FOV of the T2 Pro can get disorienting quickly
I think that 2x zoom of the t2 pro is too narrow. I found a trick to use 1,5x (rotate it). But it is no possible to have wider zoom?? alternative to the t2 pro to find animals in the outdoor and dark? thanks
Thanks for the comparison! Looks like the T2 Pro is a winner. I wonder how it would compare to AGM 256 thermals since that would match the resolution. I also wonder if it can take some .223 recoil if mounted on a gun. They also have the newer Xinfrared XH09 which is supposed to have 50hz frames but I am not sure how it compares with the T2 Pro image quality and distance id'ing for hunting purposes. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Not a stupid question at all. Yes there is a model for either the iPhone or android. Just pick the correct one when you’re checking out on the Amazon link in the video description!
HEADS UP!!! This does NOT work with a new IPHONE (15's). Their Iphone connector from the little cam is a lightning connector, so IF you have a new Iphone, you're out of luck, unless I'm missing something. I just ordered one and they give you an "android" or "Iphone" option. They should have specific, "NOT Iphone 15 and beyond" unless they offer a USB-C connector for the Iphone coming up. I'll unfortunately have to send mine back through Amazon. Nice kit if it worked.
I am impressed, but looking for a unit to keep in a EMP safe container. I don't have a spare smart phone to store in the safe place. This would only work for me if I had a spare phone to keep EMP safe with the optics. I wouldn't want the light of the phone giving away my position for home protection. My eyes would have to readjust to darkness as well. Maybe close one eye while looking at the screen in that case.
Has anyone tried using this unit with an extension cable so your phone can sit in your lap or where ever and you can mount or swivel the unit to look around comfortably?
Interesting to note the prices........ I live in the UK where EVERYTHING IS at least double the USA prices, for something thermal that has a refresh rate of 50hz & repro at 1080hd we have to pay at least £1000-£1500 ........anything less will result in the poor FLIR type results...... Good luck guys you have it made.....ENJOY !
Had a FLIR Scout TK saw this video and bought the T2 Pro. I can't believe the difference. It is by far as superior imager. If I had one small gripe, its that it would be nice to have a 1X image. It only matters when trying to use it indoors to look leaks in windows and insulation. That being said, It's still very useful. Thanks for the video and excellent review.
I have a seek thermal and it worked great out to 100 yds. Except now seek will not update the software to keep up with the apple iPhone updates. At present after 2 years seek has hot updated the software so it is worthless. A waste of money on my part.
I think the main takeaway of the comparison is that for about the same money or less, you can get far better performance with the T2. The rest doesn't matter.
How do you think it would do detecting hogs in cover in cold/ snow conditions? If they were hunkered down in cover would you detect them? Thanks for the informative video!
Xinfrared is currently running a deeper holiday discount on the unit good through 11/29/23 so our code amount has been adjusted since this video was produced. The unit is typically $399 ($379 with our discount). It’s now $329 plus a 5% discount with our code “woods2table1” putting it at $312 … so a great time to purchase the unit if you are interested! After 11/29, the unit price and our discount amount will go back to original retail. Appreciate you watching the video and using our code if you decide to purchase!
Hi thanks for taking the time to review these products for us. Am i right in thinking you need a smart phone to operate this? Maybe i would be better with the TD210?
I've been looking at this product to assist with spotting smaller, more hidden wildlife (e.g., Owls). How well does the T2 Pro do when searching through foliage for critters? Most videos I see are larger, more out in the open critters.
@@Woods2Table great to hear and thanks for the response! I photograph wildlife and this product seems like it would be amazing for spotting smaller stuff.
is there a massive difference between the iPhone and android version? Should I get an android phone? And if so what model of android would be compatible and have a strong enough CPU to power this lens. Thanks so much in advance!
@nudibanches I have the T2 pro and you don't need any Internet at all. It works by simply pluging the camera in and thats it. The camera doesn't even need any batteries but if you should be careful of one thing then it's the fact the camera occasionally doesn't work on android depending on the phone.
@nudibanches it's about the best you can possibly get from a thermal of such tiny size. They well optimised every single component and got as much as they could out of it. Doesn't get any better than being able to see people from 600 meters away in pitch blackness with a camera that's that's size of an ice cube and requires no batteries. It's part of my essential night carry now and complements my Rovyvon pocket flashlight very well. People will compare this to full size 384 and 640 thermals and will immediately criticise it while failing to realise it's intentionally trading off half the resolution to be 10 times smaller and more likely to be immediately avaliable when needed. This beats any $4000 high resolution thermal that you forgot to charge or one that's left at home because it was too big to carry on that particular night when you needed it.
reminds me of the inteliscope setup + app that had a AR mount for it for the seek thermal if that T2 company made a mount and developed a app like inteliscope had that allowed you to aim and held zero it would be a game changer i saw somthing similar thats about to be released hopefully i wana say there 1000-1200$ it was at shot show saw it on youtube somewhere still has yet to be offically release though . give it a while and i bet someone 3d prints some accessories for this no doubt cool unit
It does have a mount that can clamp to a picatinny rail and I've seen people mount it to airguns for shooting rats. Still looking for someone that's mounted it to a .22lr or .223. Curious if it holds zero well or needs to be sighted in between shooting sessions.

This is my main reason for wanting one, hunting purposes, second would be for checking hot spots in electrical equipment
You will never go back to 9hz when using any thermal above 25 or more...

Same issue with other brands plug into phones. The android is USB-C but for some reason won't work on new iPhones.

Very interesting comparison video, after watching it I think I prefer the P2 Pro
Are you running the App on an iPhone with the latest IOS of 17.0.2? My app will not run on my iPhone 15

It's not a really fair comparison. The Scout TK has a thermal sensor of 160 x 120, refresh rate
Price 😂
