I have below a list of all the equipment we use on most our shoots. They are direct links to Amazon, where we bought all the same equipment. These are affiliate links, so if you want to support us, and buy the item off the link, will make a little money off of it. Your not charged any extra, and it goes to supporting us, just wanted to make sure you knew ahead of time :) These are all products I stand by 100 percent regardless, and all products we use on a day to day basis. At the end of this list I'll have a link to a blog going into even more depth
    about the equipment we use.
    Camera Equipment I Use:
Canon 5D Mark III (use for all our behind the scene videos):
    amzn.to/1Xe3uL3
    Devinsupertramp Signature Series Glidecam:
    amzn.to/1UU9UjC
My Favorite Lenses in Order of used most:
    Canon 16-35mm F/4 USM
    amzn.to/1Xe3KtA
    Canon 14mm F/2.8
    amzn.to/1UUacqQ
    Canon 70-200mm F/2.8 II
    amzn.to/1UUaf5X
    Canon 24mm F/1.4L II
    amzn.to/1UUaj5S
    Canon 50mm F/1.2
    amzn.to/1Xe3XwT
For all our aerial shots, we use the DJI Inspire 1, with two controllers.
    amzn.to/1UUauhl
Our favorite audio mic for on board camera:
    Rode Pro Mic
    amzn.to/1R8xPMH
We also use B+W circular polarizer. They get rid of the reflections from water, windows, and most plants/green things. We use them whenever the sun is out. When buying a polarizer make sure to get the right size for the lens that you own. I feel if your going to spend the money and buy an expensive lens, it's worth spending the extra money to buy a polarizer of the same quality to match your lens, otherwise your lens won't be as clear. Plan on spending about 130 dollars US for one.
Here's a couple different sizes for common lenses:
    77mm.
    amzn.to/1UUbjH2
    82mm
    amzn.to/1UUbnXp
GoPro Hero4 Black Edition. This is the one we use and recommend.
    amzn.to/1RIIxno
    The GoScope We Use:
    go-scope.com/?...
The outro song that played on the end card is by Scott and Brendo. You can download that song here:
    iTunes: bit.ly/18kzeEp | Amazon: amzn.to/1o0JZmq
Make sure to follow me on instagram, facebook, twitter, and vine, it's the cool thing to do these days :) It's also where I let people know how to be involved in my videos.

I started with final cut 7. When final cut X came out, i didn't switch to it, because, like Devin said, it was just for beginners. But now you can use final cut X as a professional too because it has developed to a real good editing software. You have to buy it for 300€ and then you own it and get all the updates for free. So for me it is much cheeper to use final cut X. More people use adobe premiere thats right, but I think the final cut X community is growing.

Awesome video, can you talk about your computer set up, like using proxies and rendering to multiple computers and multiple people editing the same project from different locations?

  • @WarfareHD1

The problem with Adobe premiere is that it's not very well optimized. You need to have a $2K plus PC with a really good graphics card just to run 4K smoothly. With Final Cut Pro X you get amazing optimization and with my MacBook I can edit 4K footage without lag unless I add a bunch of effects. Final Cut Pro X has evolved and I think the user friendly interface is a lot for intuitive to use then the mess of tiny icons that premiere has. There is also a bunch of Final Cut Pro X plugins that are super simple to install and use. And you also have to pay just once and you will get free updates for life

I learned FCP7 a few years ago. I use Premiere Pro CC now and I absolutely love it! I honestly believe the best way to learn a software is to get some sample footage and click random buttons. Sounds silly but that's how I have taught myself all the editing softwares I know like Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, FCP etc... Also TH-cam tutorials will be your best friend when learning new software. Loved the video Devin!

I've been using Premiere Pro for about 3 months and it's really easy to pick up. I love how easy it is to sync external audio. This feature alone is worth every penny, plus like you said you can mix footage resolutions and framerates and Premiere just gets on with it.

Started off on Final Cut Pro 6 - definitely a good one to learn and entry industry-grade software. Now the majority of the industry has switched over to Premiere Pro, but it definitely made my transition into Premiere Pro that much easier.
Plus, if you know BOTH Final Cut Pro and Adobe Creative Suite, it'll make it that much easier to land a job whether freelance, or salaried.

I love Adobe. I use it every day for work. Primarily I am a graphic designer but I've taken more video classes than most of my college classmates. I primarily use photoshop, illustrator, and indesign. But I use after effects, premiere pro, and audition. The one thing I never really heard you say was how well they all work together. I love how you can be working in premiere and decide to take something to after effects and right click and go straight into it. Oh I want something from these layers of illustrator in after effects. Boom drop it in. They just do so well together
I work with two other people who are defaulted to do video. One uses final cut and the other uses avid. The one using avid isn't a designer or videographer by any means but he is technical. He has started talking about using premiere pro lately and I have recommended that he does.

I used to use Windows Movie Maker, also tried pinnacle but hated it. Then I got a mac so i could use Final Cut 7. I actually started using iMovie and then exporting the edit and just using FCP7 to colour correct and grade because I was still learning it. Used FCP7 7 professionally and loved it but it's become a bit obsolete. I now use Premier Pro CC 2015. I love it but there are still somethings it can't do that FCP7 could.

I'm editing with Premiere but I have read a lot of good things about the editor of davinci resolve, I'll try it, because it can be nice, most of all because it is free. If you are a profesional, they also have the "studio" version that gives you some more advantadges like noise reduction and more hardware profits, but the free version is really powerfull and most of all it is really good in color correction

I use both Sony Vegas and adobe premiere, the reason I think people like premiere more because it has a much more simple interface that is a lot easier to learn, it also does essentially the same things as Vegas, but I like Vegas more because that is what I learned how to edit on, there is no editing software that is the best, it's all preference. If you a beginner I suggest you try the free trials to see what you are comfortable with I have been doing freelance photography for 10 years and that's basically what I feel on editing software

Haha, I started out with Pinnacle Studio too and I am still using it. No they did not go out of business and they are currently on version 22. I am currently using Pinnacle Studio 21 Ultimate Edition. It is definitely a good affordable starter editing software, however I have known for years that Adobe Premiere is one of the best out there, if not the best. This video definitely helps with making my decision to switch to Adobe Premiere, because I have already run into some limitations with Pinnacle, but at this point I am not shooting and editing enough video to justify the cost right now for Premiere. I'm hoping that changes.

The most Important feature for me is the compatibility inside the creative cloud. Premiere can read Photoshop files and so on
