I don't think the tattoos are the issue. He just seems to be a little selfish! Ditching her on her birthday to get a tattoo and not understanding why that would hurt her feelings is a bit much.
I'm so angry at how the 1st concern was downplayed so much by the end. One cute video doesn't cancel out the fact that he doesn't respect his wife, doesn't value her work, and considers everything she says or does to be insignificant because she's the woman in the family. The wife didn't specify, but I won't be surprised if the husband had sold the house and quit his job without consulting her at all. A marriage is a partnership, not a one-man show where your wife plays cook + maid + nanny and gets no say in the life you're supposed to live together.
I couldn't even go through the first concern without thinking is Cao Lu okay?? I know she was probably raised differently but I can't help but be annoyed at her comments. The first man was not cool or charming he was oppressive towards women "there should be more food with two women cooking" omg I was so angry but then again men like that are normal in the asian culture and maybe thats why the concern wasn't looked upon. I don't think cao lu understands the point of this show. I've been watching this show for a long time and she's probably one of, if not the, worst guests that have ever been on Hello Counselor.

I can't help but keep thinking on how annoying Cao Lu is. People may think it's her preference, but think about it, she's basically supporting the idea of enslaving women. Think about it, the woman had to to give up the job she wanted to do just to be mistreated by her husband and the husband keep saying that she didn't do much work as him JUST BECAUSE SHE'S A WOMAN. Even worse than that, he made his MOTHER IN-LAW helps. I mean, It's not like the woman refuses to help her husband, but the problem here is that she's not being appreciated, and was sweet-talked. I feel like she's somewhat romanticizing the whole patriarchal relationship. I'm not sure if she's experienced or witnessed it herself and thoroughly enjoy it, but it feels like she doesn't really have a great grasp on the concerns of the women that feel like they're being exploited by their husbands. She thinks that it's great the husband is a leader and makes the decisions for the whole family and dictates what the wife should do, but I would really like to see if she feels the same if she were to be put in the wife's shoes and forced to quit her idol career to become an oyster shucker 24/7 while taking care of two kids and doing all of her so called "wifely duties". For her benefit of doubt, I would like to believe she's just oblivious and ignorant and watches too many dramas.

The first concern is like many of the concerns in hello counselor, The solution is blatantly divorce. Of course there's things to consider, children and all, but it's clear nevertheless. There is simply things that beyonds repair. I don't understand why most of them even bother to come in the show, is it expectation, or culture demands?

I know life is hard, but the first concern really got me pumped and wishing I was on this show to say something to the husband. Not everyone can get the luxury of enjoying life, not everyone is born to live freely that is a given fact but to think that everything revolves around just one given situation is really draining to mankind :( He was very ignorant of the fact that they have other choices in life, they have a family and most importantly she is his wife, not just a lady to get married to. I felt that problem was not the hard labor but his view of their life, basically just what he thought life was. Her mum even came to help her, now that is when I say, respect is just thrown out the window, he said life is hard for a fifty year old, imagine her Mum then. I grew up in the rural area as well and hard labor was given at every turn, but one thing I learnt for sure was at every struggle and hardship, there was something that could've made it easier, but you could only see it if you don't think being poor means being poor at everything. I am even more surprised by how two of the guest had said it was not a concern and thought she came to boast, waaahhh I feel for every lady, wife and any person who's path, that could have been changed, is nailed to one spot just because others think their situation is revolved around just one corner of their life. Making a living is very different from trying to live and saying that only one type of person can do one type of work is very different. He pulls shells onto boats 2-3 hours a day and the rest is 'making social connections.' She is bending, squatting and scooping shells for 10 hours a day plus house work. If any person thinks that carrying a load of cement by a man for 2-3 hours a day can be compared to a woman carrying a bag a cement 10 hours a day then punch me in face , what the hell is happening in our world. My culture is conservative as well and the roles between men and women have always been layed out... but one thing I was surely taugt about was a man's worth is definitely none compared to a lady's... because if a lady were to go through labor work while trying to give birth, if measured, that doubles, triples and gives multiple on how hardship is ever going to be defined. I give respect to everyone's opinion but gosh that first one just really got me good :(

I am a feminist and liberal, and I understand many of the comments are bashing Cao Lu for her "dumb" comments, but this just raises a common problem in today's society regarding acceptance of other views. Although her comments were insensitive, we cannot say she is dumb for having different beliefs and views. Patriarchy is wrong to a huge majority, but there are many that come from families with strong patriarchal influence and prefer a conservative lifestyle, and liberal minded individuals have no right to disrespect those views. have a logical argument against it, voice your own opinions, but dont call another's opinions dumb - that doesn't make you any more tolerant or different.

If you look at Cao Lu’s natural reaction throughout the concerns, she seems to be as irritated as the other guests. She has already publicly said she like patriarchal men so maybe her comments are like that so she doesnt seem like a liar about that statement. And other words she says is to sound sweet and understanding. I really liked her but i wish she wasn’t pretending or anything.
3rd concern. dude I started working st the age of 15. and although my parents worked too they had to pay the bills. I was a student so I only worked on weekends but my first paycheck went on my parents. I always gave them the first check of the month. now I'm 22 and have 2 younger siblings but I don't treat them the way u treat ur little brother. I also have 2 dongsaengs one is 18 and works about 300 hrs a month and the other one is 14 and is a highschooler but she gets allowance from my brother or myself. but she has to work for it. being the oldest is pressure but that gives you no right to make ur sibling a laughing stock. it seems that you didn't mature enough. I agree that the guy in the second concern is a bit addicted to tattoos and he should tone it down, but the mcs and the audience are making him feel bad for being who he is. if he likes tattoos, you should accept it. it's not any of your business what he puts on his body, and you shouldn't body shame him or give him pity and spat on his tattoos, especially when he thinks they're beautiful in his point of view. he is addicted but that still gives his girlfriend no right or any of the strangers a right to downright insult him and call him crazy. I do think he should take care of his girlfriend better, although. in my opinion, I think he should stop for the happiness of his relationship if his girlfriend really is that important to him, but in all common sense and reality, it is HIS body and he can do what makes him happy. they are making him feel embarrassed by attacking him because of something he loves.
That second concern...the girlfriend can do so much better than him. His tattoos are more important than her? That's fine. He is allowed to love himself. They need to break up. The guy in the second concern is so hot. I like tattoos on a guy but even I say its too much. Especially in Korea where they are pretty conservative. Like body, sleeves and leg tattoos are fine since he can cover them up day to day. But the neck tattoo does seem a bit much since its so high it even touches his chin, even though I think it looks hot. I agree with the gf as long has he stays away from the face it should be fine. He should think a bit more how she feels. She understood and accepted most of his tattoos up till this point. All she was mad about is the neck tattoo since its such a strong statement piece and she just wants him to not tatt his face. That is very reasonable. Asian people and mostly Japanese and Korean have connected tattoos with yakuzas and gangsters which is the main reason that this is even a concern. For me, it really doesn't matter that he likes and wants to get many tattoos. The only problem is the way he does it. He should be more considerate about his girlfriend.

Well I'm late to this video. However, even so, I think many commenting on this video, even if weeks later, should be able to openly share their thoughts. Furthermore, many important topics are definitely at hand here, and those topics are never going to "move on" unless if people directly discuss them instead of avoiding them with "this was weeks ago, get over it" and so on. All that said, I can relate to many viewers: my face was basically Hyemi's expression when Cao Lu said, "Doesn't it make you happy as a woman to do anything for the man you love, would you not [do that]?" (summarized quote off the top of my head), and overall, how she very much was supporting the husband's side (and in summary, patriarchy) when, as most of us can agree to, his ways are incredibly unfair and filled with sexist, patriarchal thinking. Now certainly Cao Lu's words should be challenged for many good reasons as discussed here already, but I do think people should be more critical than merely bashing Cao Lu as stupid, ignorant, or hypocritically thinking she is a "dumb bitch." Cao Lu's background with her culture most likely plays a role with her current gender beliefs, specifically that of (no surprise) patriarchy. She very likely grew up with that societal structure and tradition. Is this--growing up in a patriarchal society--a "bad" or "good" thing? You decide based on your own opinion and thinking. Does this make her stupid and needing to shut the fuck up? Not quite as it is based on her cultural perspective and that it is still indeed a view to consider and hear--even if most can agree that it is a ridiculous view. To clarify, this is not to say we should ignore the sexist words from her and should allow sexism to exist since "everyone has their opinion"; quite blatantly if I may say so, there is a very huge problem with having sexism thrive--even if some people genuinely believe its "my right to believe what I believe." Rather, what should occur is challenging Cao Lu's ideas and beliefs, but not Cao Lu herself. Even if she has sexist beliefs and, for example, is the most sexist person alive to the point that she says women are slaves to men (remember: this is just an example--or so I hope), she would still be a human being that deserves respect and care, as hard as that may be to come to terms with for some. Challenge Cao Lu's words, not herself. Likewise hate male privilege and patriarchy and androcentrism, but not boys individually--though let's admit: it's fun to poke SOME fun at them and for them to also laugh at themselves given their privileges. Overall, antagonizing can't take place. Bringing gender equality and equity doesn't mean shutting down those who oppose said beliefs by calling them idiots; bringing gender equality and equity means maturely hearing out various views, no matter how ridiculous some may seem, and then respectfully challenging those views with that of gender equality or whatever else.

I can't help but keep thinking on how annoying Cao Lu is. People may think it's her preference, but think about it, she's basically supporting the idea of enslaving women. I feel like she's somewhat romanticizing the whole patriarchal relationship. I'm not sure if she's experienced or witnessed it herself and thoroughly enjoy it, but it feels like she doesn't really have a great grasp on the concerns of the women that feel like they're being exploited by their husbands. She thinks that it's great the husband is a leader and makes the decisions for the whole family and dictates what the wife should do, but I would really like to see if she feels the same if she were to be put in the wife's shoes and forced to quit her idol career to become an oyster shucker 24/7 while taking care of two kids and doing all of her so called "wifely duties". I know life is hard, but the first concern really got me pumped and wishing I was on this show to say something to the husband. Not everyone can get the luxury of enjoying life, not everyone is born to live freely that is a given fact but to think that everything revolves around just one given situation is really draining to mankind :( He was very ignorant of the fact that they have other choices in life, they have a family and most importantly she is his wife, not just a lady to get married to. I felt that problem was not the hard labor but his view of their life, basically just what he thought life was. Her mum even came to help her, now that is when I say, respect is just thrown out the window, he said life is hard for a fifty year old, imagine her Mum then. I grew up in the rural area as well and hard labor was given at every turn, but one thing I learnt for sure was at every struggle and hardship, there was something that could've made it easier, but you could only see it if you don't think being poor means being poor at everything. I am even more surprised by how two of the guest had said it was not a concern and thought she came to boast, waaahhh I feel for every lady, wife and any person who's path, that could have been changed, is nailed to one spot just because others think their situation is revolved around just one corner of their life. Making a living is very different from trying to live and saying that only one type of person can do one type of work is very different. He pulls shells onto boats 2-3 hours a day and the rest is 'making social connections.' She is bending, squatting and scooping shells for 10 hours a day plus house work. If any person thinks that carrying a load of cement by a man for 2-3 hours a day can be compared to a woman carrying a bag a cement 10 hours a day then punch me in face , what the hell is happening in our world. My culture is conservative as well and the roles between men and women have always been layed out... but one thing I was surely taugt about was a man's worth is definitely none compared to a lady's... because if a lady were to go through labor work while trying to give birth, if measured, that doubles, triples and gives multiple on how hardship is ever going to be defined. I give respect to everyone's opinion but gosh that first one just really got me good :(

I am a feminist and liberal, and I understand many of the comments are bashing Cao Lu for her "dumb" comments, but this just raises a common problem in today's society regarding acceptance of other views. Although her comments were insensitive, we cannot say she is dumb for having different beliefs and views. Patriarchy is wrong to a huge majority, but there are many that come from families with strong patriarchal influence and prefer a conservative lifestyle, and liberal minded individuals have no right to disrespect those views. have a logical argument against it, voice your own opinions, but dont call another's opinions dumb - that doesn't make you any more tolerant or different.

okaay, it's a fashion choice and other than getting the tattoos too often, appearance shouldn't be a problem. as a couple you need to get past that and like each other for who they are. if you shouldn't discriminate against some hairstyles or clothing choices because they're a form of self expression then the same should go for tattoos. btw, his tattoos makes him extra hot^^ even when blurred out^^

If you look at Cao Lu’s natural reaction throughout the concerns, she seems to be as irritated as the other guests. She has already publicly said she like patriarchal men so maybe her comments are like that so she doesnt seem like a liar about that statement. 3rd concern. dude I started working st the age of 15. and although my parents worked too they had to pay the bills. I was a student so I only worked on weekends but my first paycheck went on my parents. I always gave them the first check of the month. now I'm 22 and have 2 younger siblings but I don't treat them the way u treat ur little brother. I also have 2 dongsaengs one is 18 and works about 300 hrs a month and the other one is 14 and is a highschooler but she gets allowance from my brother or myself. but she has to work for it. being the oldest is pressure but that gives you no right to make ur sibling a laughing stock. it seems that you didn't mature enough. SMH

I agree that the guy in the second concern is a bit addicted to tattoos and he should tone it down, but the mcs and the audience are making him feel bad for being who he is. if he likes tattoos, you should accept it. it's not any of your business what he puts on his body, and you shouldn't body shame him or give him pity and spat on his tattoos, especially when he thinks they're beautiful in his point of view. he is addicted but that still gives his girlfriend no right or any of the strangers a right to downright insult him and call him crazy. I do think he should take care of his girlfriend better, although. in my opinion, I think he should stop for the happiness of his relationship if his girlfriend really is that important to him, but in all common sense and reality, it is HIS body and he can do what makes him happy. they are making him feel embarrassed by attacking him because of something he loves.
That second concern...the girlfriend can do so much better than him. His tattoos are more important than her? That's fine. He is allowed to love himself. They need to break up. The guy in the second concern is so hot. I like tattoos on a guy but even I say its too much. Especially in Korea where they are pretty conservative. Like body, sleeves and leg tattoos are fine since he can cover them up day to day. But the neck tattoo does seem a bit much since its so high it even touches his chin, even though I think it looks hot. I agree with the gf as long has he stays away from the face it should be fine. He should think a bit more how she feels. She understood and accepted most of his tattoos up till this point. All she was mad about is the neck tattoo since its such a strong statement piece and she just wants him to not tatt his face. That is very reasonable. Asian people and mostly Japanese and Korean have connected tattoos with yakuzas and gangsters which is the main reason that this is even a concern. For me, it really doesn't matter that he likes and wants to get many tattoos. The only problem is the way he does it. He should be more considerate about his girlfriend.

Well I'm late to this video. However, even so, I think many commenting on this video, even if weeks later, should be able to openly share their thoughts. Furthermore, many important topics are definitely at hand here, and those topics are never going to "move on" unless if people directly discuss them instead of avoiding them with "this was weeks ago, get over it" and so on. All that said, I can relate to many viewers: my face was basically Hyemi's expression when Cao Lu said, "Doesn't it make you happy as a woman to do anything for the man you love, would you not [do that]?" (summarized quote off the top of my head), and overall, how she very much was supporting the husband's side (and in summary, patriarchy) when, as most of us can agree to, his ways are incredibly unfair and filled with sexist, patriarchal thinking.
Now certainly Cao Lu's words should be challenged for many good reasons as discussed here already, but I do think people should be more critical than merely bashing Cao Lu as stupid, ignorant, or hypocritically thinking she is a "dumb bitch." Cao Lu's background with her culture most likely plays a role with her current gender beliefs, specifically that of (no surprise) patriarchy. She very likely grew up with that societal structure and tradition. Is this--growing up in a patriarchal society--a "bad" or "good" thing? You decide based on your own opinion and thinking. Does this make her stupid and needing to shut the fuck up? Not quite as it is based on her cultural perspective and that it is still indeed a view to consider and hear--even if most can agree that it is a ridiculous view.
To clarify, this is not to say we should ignore the sexist words from her and should allow sexism to exist since "everyone has their opinion"; quite blatantly if I may say so, there is a very huge problem with having sexism thrive--even if some people genuinely believe its "my right to believe what I believe." Rather, what should occur is challenging Cao Lu's ideas and beliefs, but not Cao Lu herself. Even if she has sexist beliefs and, for example, is the most sexist person alive to the point that she says women are slaves to men (remember: this is just an example--or so I hope), she would still be a human being that deserves respect and care, as hard as that may be to come to terms with for some. Challenge Cao Lu's words, not herself. Likewise hate male privilege and patriarchy and androcentrism, but not boys individually--though let's admit: it's fun to poke SOME fun at them and for them to also laugh at themselves given their privileges. Overall, antagonizing can't take place. Bringing gender equality and equity doesn't mean shutting down those who oppose said beliefs by calling them idiots; bringing gender equality and equity means maturely hearing out various views, no matter how ridiculous some may seem, and then respectfully challenging those views with that of gender equality or whatever else.
I have to say that god took his Time while doing the second boy cuz HES freacking beautiful and his tattoos are so gooood omg . He could have been the best bf ever if he cared more about his GF than his tattoos , he is smart-handsome and seem really Nice and freandly but he care a LIL bit too much about tattoos (even if he look cool with them) and i think that the tattoos on his face are excessiv tho.
