When Yeongja put everything into perspective and stood up for the wife in the first concern, I felt so happy for the wife.

I'm so done with that carrot looking husband in the first concern. He is seriously a lost case, she should leave him ASAP. For some reason I feel like he will never change and his keep this mindset of 'the wife has to do everything, I'm the king blah blah blah. I feel so bad for her :'( I'll pray for her, even if it helps a bit.

My mother always told me that people will never change. What you can change is only your attitude towards other people. Years later I realized that she hasn't happy most of the time. It's the same with this guy. He will never change and it looked like she realized it already for a long time.
I mean the wife also is too nice if i was in that situation I would leave as if it's a burning building. I would leave with my kids and live my life happy away from someone like THAT!

The first concern sounds like the start of an abusive relationship the fact that she's too scared to even talk back to him says a lot.... THIS ISN'T THE 1800's she has her own life and not just there to give you kids and pretty much be a second mother to you (if she does such a bad job do it yourself then I hate guys like this) 😒😠... 7th**
It already IS an abusive relationship tbh :( He's mistreating her, disrespecting her, putting her down in so many ways (demeaning her looks, her intelligence, her capabilities) and refusing to treat her like an adult. He might not be physically hitting her but words and humiliation can be just as damaging. I hope she somehow finds the strength and opportunity to leave because he's not changing any time soon.

The first concern had me so angry I started crying, I believe that most marriage problems could be worked through before turning to divorce, but there is no way I'd stick with that sort of treatment for 10 years let alone a single day. A wife is not a servant she is your partner.

For the first concern: we all know he isn't going to change. He might even become worse. This kind of beavior lead to domestic violence at some point (she even seem scared of him which is a very bad sign) That why I think she should (absolutely) leave this moron without looking back!
I haven't cried over something in a long time. But that first guy really got to me. If my husband EVER EVER treated me like that I would straight up divorce him. (I'm Native American and he is Korean) I was adopted as a child and I grew up in a household just like this, it makes me SICK. My sister ended up marrying a guy like this and has 6 children with him. Once I found out what he was doing I went over his house smacked the shit out of him and broke his arm. He is terrified of me to this day. She needs to leave his sorry ass QUICK. Saddest part is those children are going to grow up thinking that lifestyle is okay and it will be an endless cycle of abuse.
I had to pause a few times because I couldn't see the translation through my tears! The whole time I was trying to tell her, "LEAVE! I KNOW IT'LL BE HARD - YOU MAY NOT MAKE ENOUG MONEY TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR CHILDREN BY YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY MAY EVEN ABANDON YOU BUT LEEAAAVVVEEE!!!"She's terrified of him and their children are already disrespecting her :(I always thought that some people divorce to easily (they get married too easily too) but this man is toxic. He's ruining his children (especially his son. His own father was probably like that) and that poor woman is pitiful and scared! The kids of the abusive man were so happy when he said i love you to their mother was so heartbreaking. I dont understand this man, any other woman would have left him a long time ago. Where she. makes sure the police takes whoever deserves to he behind bars and she shelters those abused in anyway. making sure they have an escape then and there

There's been a lot of shitty husbands on this show but the one from the first concern takes the cake. He didn't even try to pretend or lie and say he loves his wife when asked. I truly hope she gets a divorce after the show

I mean, if you had wanted to talk so much, you should've chosen happy together instead, no? I feel like a talk show would suit you better, and then we would be able to listen to more of the interesting things that you have experienced, or the stories that have occurred over the years. the voting have a limited time and its one vote at a time.. so having a 200 votes in 10 sec. is hard.. thats why you can see people are pressing couple of times to make sure their vote goes in
(The First Concern) This is literally what masculine dominance is in lots of cultures. A man feels like he's entitled to anything and everything and doesn't have to help is dangerous. The wife should leave him (with the kids if she wishes) IMMEDIATELY. The husband is so ignorant I would slap him if I ever met him on the streets.

chachi1716 - I understand that but I'd still like for them, during one episode, to at least ask an individual as to why he/she did not vote for a concern that truly needed help or an intervention of some type. I'm not referring to just the first concern that was brought to light in this episode. I'm talking about other concerns from previous episodes as well. A majority may vote one way but they'll always be at least one person who thinks differently; and so, I'd like to hear the thoughts of the one person.

although divorce doesn't seem to be a big thing for you and/or your country/culture, most asian countries much like korea are very conservative and religious so divorce is often frowned upon.
and im sure they're thinking about it but they can't say it in front of public and in television.. its like saying to everyone divorce is the only solution (well in this case yes) that's why the program is made to look for that little hope of change..
Remember, this aired on KBS, the government-funded public broadcaster. They can't say certain things on certain shows. Not to mention, in countries such as this, there's a stigma on divorce and single parenthood.
I guess even the case was share to public, but they still think, the decision like divorce should't be suggested directly by third perspective. that's what heroin needs to think over.. I'm sure that all the hosts there who think this is a real concern, would have thought " she should divorce"..

I'm usually someone who believes that we should sort out problems first before resorting to divorce but the first concern is such a lost case. I have never felt such a strong disgust towards someone that selfish and narcissistic. Just get a divorce.

The first husband is clinging to his belief that's he's the king of his household even in the face of reasonable and logical inputs and questions by the panel, especially by Yeongja, because that's all he has. I'm sure in the deep recesses of his mind, he knows he's in the wrong, but he can't let go of that mentality nor admit his mistreatment of his wife due to his stubborn pride. It's just too bad that the wife just loves him more than he loves her. She looked so hurt when he said that she could leave/divorce him as long she doesn't take the kids. It's just that it would inconvenience him to take care of them when she's gone. All I can say is "wow." If that doesn't wake her up, then I don't know what will. It'll be up to her how much more she'll put up with.
What I'm curious about is how come his parents weren't invited to the show so we can see if his parents are proud of his treatment of his wife and whether they approve his belief that he's "king" and should be treated as such by his servant wife?

For the first concern jeez what can you do? there are stubborn husbands as soon as they get married they show their real sides and trap people into marriages since there's such a stigma on divorces in Korea. hopefully he changes I can see he kinda felt guilty and the second concern the husband he should move out of his parents house if she's not comfortable living at home then she will obviously depend on him a lot, I wouldn't want to live with my in-laws HELL NO!!
honestly, the whole trapping thing is honestly why I'm afraid to get married because of what happened to my mom. She told me she lost her identity when she married him and I know from experience that he's nice at first and then super controlling. if more people stepped up when they were being mistreated in relationships or got divorced their lives would be so much better

I've watched most episodes of this show, but the first concern is the most heartbreaking I've seen yet. she needs to leave as quick as possible. ignore all the social stigmas & just get out of that relationship.

The first wife is so unfortunate. How can he say they are family now? How can he say he is gonna lives uncomfortably if she leaves? Is he married so he can have free maid? Free butler? 1st concern: the husband is a bastard & bad father. That's a form of domestic violence. It takes a lot of love and patience for her to live with him for 10 years. No woman should be a victim of abuse. Men like that, I JUST CAN'T. He's prolly cheating on her.
2nd concern: woman get a job, when you start making that $$, he'll be the one calling you. I'll represent all the women in the world and say this: We won't touch your husband.

This is the first time I got really mad at husband-wife stories. I could tolerate some but this is absolutely the worst type of husband. If he wants to live as a king then he should get himself a maid. It's so frustrating to see their kids ending up like their father. I know it's bad to wish something ill to others but I know he will learn his lesson someday. Kudos to her wife to last that long with that kind of husband. This is the first time I'd hope you'd meet a better man than him.

The third concern was really complicated for all of them. Either they misunderstood each other, or the dad felt really sad once his son leaved him to work on something else. All dads hate their sons when they leave them btw, they just don't seem want to understand why they just assume that their sons hate them and they want to leave them when they're wrong in the first place so it's really normal.

TBH I have no idea how that first concern lost, especially when compared to the current reigning champion, his concern was ant poop compared to her's
Nothing wrong with being a king, but he should realize that even a king has responsibilities. A king is only another person without anybody who supports him. If he is supposed to be the king in the family, then he should make sure that the rest of them are willing to support him and have the possibility to do it. Simply calling yourself the king as an excuse to be lazy is wrong.
I see two solutions to that problem. 1. He earns enough money that the wife doesn't have to work. 2. He stops being lazy and starts taking responsibility for his family.
Like the host said, he's not a king, he's a tyrant.

축구, chuk gu, can refer to both since it literally means kick ball. But in the context of the conversation, the husband meant foot volleyball :)
