The second video in my Film Noir Dame series, this one dedicated to the enigmatically lovely Gene Tierney (November 19, 1920 - November 6, 1991). Her iconic role as the title character in "Laura" (1944) established her unique screen presence. She is a noir icon for a reason, and her presence is always compellingly watchable. Background music is David Raksin's theme for "Laura" performed by The Jazz At The Movies Band.
Achingly beautiful, talented, intelligent and tragic was dear Gene. A great legacy of film for us to cherish. Thanks for the video. Very well done, as always.
The first film I remember seeing her in was the fabulous "Shanghai Gesture". I was perhaps 11 or so and saw the film on TV. She was Mesmerizing. I often wish TCM would work it into their schedule. Haven't seen it in years.
I love that you have Whirlpool in here I think it’s a very underrated movie. Scorsese particularly liked her in this film He says it showcased her fragility

Elegant song 😍
I love "Leave her to heaven"...unfortunately Gene did not have a happy life...reading about her life...
Am I the only one who thinks she looks like Margot Robbie in some scenes? Same facial features
