In Michigan in late May the Drum & Channel Catfish fishing is World Class. The drum usually start at 16" & get a lot bigger.

Maybe later this spring/summer you can come back and see what else that spillway offers but ya also need the right bait which is tricky as you might not know what kinds of other fish are in those rapids.
