Understood spillways like that il free line my bait. Cast to the front of it and let it drift down usually i would get hooked up on fish every cast.

That hurts for sure! That fishing rod looks like it’s got great action. I think Palomar beats snell for reliability since snells dig into the sharp end but maybe that had nothing to do with this. Enjoy your videos.

I don't know how many times my little 4 ft cast net has saved me when I've run out of bait. Sometimes when I go out at night all of the bait shops are closed and it's too late to be catching bluegill. Just a couple of throws along the bank with the cast net will usually give you 2-3 perfect fish.
