Mat’s mum is BACK… And she’s going up against Mat and his girlfriend!
First up we have Mat in the AMG GLE 53. With a 3-litre straight-six turbo coupled with a tiny 22hp motor, it’ll put down 435hp & 520Nm of torque. So it’s pretty powerful, but then again, it’s also pretty expensive - coming in at £80,000! What’s more, it’s pretty heavy too, weighing in at 2,305kg.
As for Mat’s mum, well she’s in the VW T-Roc R. Sure, it’s no surprise that it’s down on power compared to the GLE, with a 2-litre turbo only providing her with 300hp & 400Nm. BUT, it’s a whole 730kg lighter than the AMG, and it only costs half the price! So is it a good bet for the win?
Finally we have Mat’s girlfriend, Jo, in the Porsche Cayenne Coupe. It’s the most powerful car here, being able to deliver 462hp & 700Nm, but it’s also the heaviest, weighing in at 2,425kg!

Rather you're talking about their family bus with a Porsche badge on it, so there's no reason why the VW bus couldn't beat it. And re the "Benz"... most "Benzs are heavy and slow.

@@abhithkdas8778 the new a45s weighs 1560kg according to EVO mag (1555kg according to Topgear mag). T-Roc's 1575kg. both weigh more than the larger BMW M3 F80 of 2014. Shows the direction of travel in the industry.

When you have people buy "LUXURY" vehicles, the first thing on their mind isn't how fast it is. I drive a GLE43, its over $80k when I drove it out. Only has 385 hp. 0-60 in sub 5 seconds for a 5400lb vechicle. Very far from being fast. I don't buy it to race. I bought it for the comfort so my wife, my kids and me to enjoy. I bought it because "I" want a large enough vehicle so I can haul stuff around. I bought because I like the tech, the safety features, the way it drives. I bought it because my wife and kids also likes it. Did I shop around for other vehicles, yes of course. But in the end I chose this one. So regardless of what vehicles.....luxury SUVs people drive 99.9% of people don't care if your VW is faster. Thats the truth.

Trying doing a video with sedans that can manage some what of a jamaica road, with all the bumps an pot holes, just the terrain of jamaica puts any porche, bmw, benz to the test.

It is just a matter of weight and size. T-Roc is 2 classes below both GLE and Cayene. There is 65cm of length difference between T-Roc and the rest.
