My Father's Firearms: Ruger #1 Biesen in .375 H&H, or?

The latest firearm from the collection I inherited from my late father. This one is another Biesen built rifle in an African big game cartridge. However, I know very little about this gun. I do know that it kicks pretty freaking hard! I found an ad for this rifle from several years ago that states it is chambered in .375 H&H Ackley Improved. Let's find out if it is.

Have you tried shooting off-hand? That should reduce the pain level. I’ve always wanted a 375 H&H. I’m not a hunter but I like the romance associated with the cartridge. I’ve followed a few #1’s in 375 H&H on GB. Always got distracted and never bid on one.
