The United auto workers just got 11,000 dollars per member just to sign the contract and now they want to walk because the belvedere plant will not be reopened!! Any time the government forces an issue,it never turns out good for the consumer.Yes in some respects it may be better environmentally. BUT that has issues of it's own,Cars need lithium most country's don't have much.Manufacturing these battery's are way more dangerous and costly to make and transport.As well as costly the lifespan of electrics is much shorter.Tax payers are paying .>for the TAX BREAKS,yes it sounds COUNTER INTUITIVE,but where do these TAX breaks come from???please let me know if I'm wrong.ARE we saving the climate?? At what cost?? CAN just we {USA}save the whole worlds climate??China's CLIMATE yesterday is OUR CLIMATE today.HARD ISSUES to be sure.
Did you mention road and bridge redesign, repair and maintenance? Road Repair Taxes, Insurance, Tire Costs, Parts Availability? Depreciation? Right to Repair?

Canada has the world's 3rd largest oil reserves next to Saudi Arabia & Venezuela. But, our current government doesn't want to supply the world, only the U.S. and ourselves. Poor choice. New conservative government coming next year will change things significantly for us and the world. Trudeau's dream is dead. As a former owner of 2 Hyundai EVs, they are excellent vehicles but they only reduce exhaust emissions. This is helpful for cities like L.A. but the raw materials and manufacturing are not eco friendly. I never bought either EV to be eco friendly and now, I'm back to gasoline. Hybrids are more of our future but even they are not cost effective. Good luck keeping a hybrid long enough to even break even on gasoline costs, let alone save money.
