Not only a shirt swap during the intro, it is in a entirely different room! Iblydos certainly seems like an interesting setting, great for a mythic themed campaign.
Excelent video as allways! Greek and Roman inspire fantasy some times is the best kind of fatasy, Paizo really put a little of everything in Golarion isin´t? 😂
Best pathfinder Lore, I would love to see Starfinder Lore as well, I love you bestiary videos as well. I also would love to see like a lore video on the history of magic and the different kinds of magic.
This one has a great deal of potential for adventure, especially as so little of the area is detailed out. It would be fun to flesh out one of the eastern areas and run something there. I had honestly forgotten about it until I saw your video. Thanks for another great video.
Really interesting place! I swear I'll never get tired of Pathfinder world building. Although there's not a lot of written lore it's bubbling with potential, though I'm biased for any classical Greece analog in fantasy. Plus there's plenty of stuff to steal for my own in my homebrew world.
Thanks so much @MythKeeper. I asked for this region on like the first video I saw of yours and have been patiently waiting 😅 I know theres not a lot of information on the area, I'm hoping they're gonna give us a Mythic AP for Iblydos next year
My partner will be very excited to read this. She is 100% responsible for all the hair, lighting and photography in the intro and outro sections of these videos.
I love these non-Avistan setting deep dives, especially because they don't get a lot of spotlight in official books so far. Great job! And yes, I too did not even know Iblidos existed haha.
Hell, yeah. Iblydos is the part of Golarion I'd been most interested in learning about. It seems wild and there's so little easily accessible out there. It's also very useful for the idea of how to do a monk while getting away from tired kung-fu stereotypes I've been toying with for the last year. Greek hero athlete concerned with mastering their pneuma and potentially seeking gnosis to build their areté to become a true hero worthy of glory.
Totally agree. I don't recall reading an Iblydos section in War of Immortals (maybe I missed it) but could be a chance for more of the hero-gods to make a comeback here.
The Hero-Gods are a very interesting idea: mortal deities! There’s a lot of potential for storytelling there, and it’s a nice nod to Greek mythology and religion, where many heroes-in addition to being the offspring of gods-became cult figures with their own shrines, clerics, and traditions.
Ah I wish paizo would make an AP here. Give it a nice odyssey or maybe Anied flavor. So much fun stuff to play with or maybe a even old influence like the Bronze Age collapse so Sea people and Minos.
I'd love it if Paizo did something like Jade Regent (a journey adventure) but through the southern Casmaron in general, giving them a chance to provide some more detail to Iblydos, the Padishah Empire, Vudra and maybe even the ruins of Ninshabur. Could be one where each of the books offers you a glimpse into a new nation or territory.
I am currently running a campaign that focuses on a group of non-mythic heroes who are investigating the Eye of Abendego for the Pathfinder Society and whom will discover its truths and eventually go to the rescue of the Holy Elemental Lords, leading them across an epic journey through the Elemental Planes. While set in Western Garundi at first, given that they will experience all manner of the elements and various sub-elements, I think I might need to include some of Ibyldos. Seems like such an amazing place and I'd love to have some characters involved there. Edit: It also may involve the return/revival of Aroden! XD Thank you for the inspiration. BTW, when are you going to start doing your Tian Xia deep dives? I am currently running another campaign set in Minkai in the city of Sakakabe, involving a group of locals who are investigating issues with a local yakuza establishment.
Well the Hongal region deep dive is already up on the channel! The Minkai one is right around the corner. Next week is another chapter in my campaign diary series but week after is Minkai ;-)
Iblydos was first mentioned (IIRC) in Pathfinder Chronicles: Campaign Setting book published in 2008, so its been a part of the world from the beginning. Its just not in the Inner Sea region so it doesn't get a lot of focus.
The real-world analogs break down if you over-analyze them, but in the broad strokes I think Iblydos = Greece, and I've said this before but I think that the old Taldan Empire = Ancient Rome. Taldor today is more like renaissance era Italy though.
I drew this map personally, its not a canon map, BUT the landmass shapes were created by scaling up the world map and I tried my very best to accurately match what had been in the world map borders for the Iblydos region.
greek inspired stuff and beastial races go hard
Not only a shirt swap during the intro, it is in a entirely different room! Iblydos certainly seems like an interesting setting, great for a mythic themed campaign.
Haha! I garbled the intro here and stole the intro from another video 😂😂😂
I didn't even realize that Iblydos existed, I love me ancient Greek-themed stuff so I might use it in an upcoming campaign.
Honestly, I think most people don't! Pathfinder rarely spotlights the stuff beyond the Inner Sea.
A classical Greek like country with friendly Giants?
I feel like I needed this in my life.
Thanks!
Yeah this is a fun hidden corner of Golarion.
Excelent video as allways! Greek and Roman inspire fantasy some times is the best kind of fatasy, Paizo really put a little of everything in Golarion isin´t? 😂

Thank you!

I second the Starfinder Lore! Just to hear it in his smooth, silky tones 😂
Starfinder is definitely in the plan... I just have to get through a few more region deep dives in Pathfinder first...
What a wonderful place to give my GM some ideas. Thanks for your work!

There isn't that much written lore, and yet, I managed to fill > 30m of content 😆
@@TheMythkeeper You won't hear any complaining from me for sure. Great work as always!
Heeey, my favourite region! Amazing video! So many of my characters hail from Iblydos, I just love the place.
That's amazing! Glad to hear it 🙂
Great Deepdive, thx for the video!
I will wait to hear about how the mythic heroes get rido of the sea monster!
Love every time I see one of your comments! Thanks for keeping up with all my vids :-)

FANTASY GREECE FINALLY
This is really intresting, I've been working on a classic antiquity setting and a lot of this stuff will be useful.
@@DaDunge awesome! Glad to be of help

Iblydos Kind of reminds me of ancient Greece, both the culture and the mythology.
Yeah sometimes the allegory is loose, sometimes its right there on the nose
Im so hyped about this one
This was a fun one 🙂
@@TheMythkeeper Of course it was
Curious how the war of the immortals effects Iblydos. If any area is ideal for a mythic level campaign it has to be Iblydos.
Totally agree. I don't recall reading an Iblydos section in War of Immortals (maybe I missed it) but could be a chance for more of the hero-gods to make a comeback here.

I really love your videos, my only problem is the sound. It's too low on average.
Thanks for the feedback
I've been gone from PATHFINDER, for a while. I don't remember any of this lore.
Iblydos was first mentioned (IIRC) in Pathfinder Chronicles: Campaign Setting book published in 2008, so its been a part of the world from the beginning. Its just not in the Inner Sea region so it doesn't get a lot of focus.
This is good I am not really familiar with this region. Although I do play a Cyclopean Seer Oracle once...Broken Character.
Awesome character ;-)
One of the least visited regions. Did you had the video on Rahadoum?
Not yet! Early next year I hope :-)
So sort of a mix between Mycenaean and Classical Greece? Seems pretty cool.
Yeah pretty much 🙂
Forgive my ignorance but if Iblydos is not!greece who are the not!romans? Thanks for the video!

@@TheMythkeeperthanks for answering
so how powerful are these Hero-Gods ? can lvl 20 party beat them ?
That all depends on your GM and what your heroes are packing I guess 😅
@@TheMythkeeper I'll take as a yes :)

@@TheMythkeeper I more worrying about positions of different cities on map. IIRC, there is no such information in lore.
