Even as a child he was photogenic. Very expressive face. He looked really good in glasses. Its so bittersweet; his family loved him so much and he loved them. They molded him and let him be himself and he really shined and soared. Sad that he missed out on long term love with Pier.

88 today. Dean lived in feeling, but they had intentions, deep intentions, he was beautiful and this video reminds me of why. His life was rich in creation. He relished objects and made them part of himself. I wish I would have done the same. No one needs to keep plastics. But woods and leathers and papers and cloth you feel the infusion of his spirit in them. The was a being who weeped and sighed for those who needed to heed it. Lovely work man, just so right you did it.

Jordan, you have outdone yourself on your James Dean vlog series. I have never seen his movies but I am going to. He was much loved by his family, friends and fans as you have shown to all of us. The museum was just the best and you always have tidbits of knowledge that add to the history of James Dean that probably wouldn’t be shared if it weren’t for you. A special thanks to his cousin for all the time and effort he has spent to make this museum so wonderful. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Wow! Memories! Had a crush on James Dean back in the day. When he died I cut a photo out of a movie magazine of him, framed it, and made a sort of shrine for him, which I kept on my bureau…I was young then…I see him in your video with Sal Mineo. Sal was popular then, as well. Keep up the good work! 👏👏👏

What I love about your Vlogs is that you always get what each of us always wanted to know or see! I just cannot get enough of one of my most favorite actors James Dean. His humble and wonderful upbringing and how kind his family still is. Thanks to his cousin Markus there is so much of Jimmys memory left and you brought that memory to us in yet another amazing vlog. One can tell that Jimmy and Markus had a very tight and wonderful bond. And I still find it very sad and haunting that this young and talented man is no longer among us. His memory lives on through all his memorabilia. I just want to thank you! Well done!

I have to be honest. I really didn't think much of James Dean. I thought he was just racing around in his car. But you've shown him as just a regular guy from a small town with a family and that acting was just something he wanted to do. Thank you for changing my opinion of him. Like you said there was a lot of not so nice stuff written about James. Getting to speak with his cousin was just awesome. I love the awe and surprise in your voice when you're telling us what we are looking at. Makes the volg even more special. Wonderful Vlog. Can't wait to see what you have in store for us tomorrow.

Have you not seen any of his 3 Classics? Those performances alone should have been more than enough proof to convince you of his immeasurable talent. BTW, Jordan goofed again when he said that RWOAC had been released when Dean was alive. East Of Eden was the only film released during his lifetime. RWOAC & Giant was were both released posthumously . I also must question his claims that cousin Marcus purchased most of what we see in the museum. I am almost certain that most of the memorabilia was acquired by David "Dean Of Deanabilia" Loehr - Dean archivist & curator of the James Dean Gallery/Museum.

Again, an amazing podcast. I've learned a lot about James Dean I didn't know. God Bless Marcus for his generosity to the town and world, to build a place where people can come and see the essence of James Dean. Literally, James Deans whole world. The care and up keep to everything can be seen here. I'm so touched that you can hear and see the true James Dean, not the James Dean of the tabloids and "would be writers". Seeing him from the eyes of his family is so touching and we are all grateful for Marcus. I almost forgot to say, I did not know that James Dean was such an accomplished artist. His painting and sculptures are beautiful.

I met Adeline Nall at the museum in Fairmount, back around 1983. She said that I reminded her of Marlon Brando, which came out of no where, but I took it as a huge compliment. We had been out at the Winslow Farm with Mary Lou Winslow, who gave us a tour of the farm house and grounds. Mrs. Winslow was very nice and we appreciated her taking the time out of her day to spend with us. She gave my three year old nephew a motor cycle helmet, that belonged to someone in her family, and I remember him walking around with it on his little head for the remainder of the vacation trip. Great memories from that year. Also, that record in the glass case, I just uploaded here on TH-cam, lol. Funny, to see another copy of it, since I thought had something really rare. Lol. Oh well, wishful thinking. We went to cemetery too, but at that time, his headstone was missing.

Excellent vlog! I was born in Muncie, Indiana, and my family and I loved taking weekend day trips to Fairmont. During college, I interviewed his best childhood friend Robert Pulley for a class project. He said that Jimmy was a real character, and that the only time he really saw him heartbroken was right after his breakup with Pier Angeli. I really my visits to the museum.:)

Great show Jordan I was raised in Marion Ind in the 1960s and I remember seeing his birthplace home, the house of seven gables before it was torn down. I loved my hometown then and still do. Thanks again.

this is so cool ! it’s good to know there are people my age who appreciate the legends like this. i’m 33 and it’s rare to meet someone of similar age who is into this stuff. but james dean was such a legend . a progressive, and ahead of his time. having made such an impact with such a short career, he will always be remembered for being one of the stars that shined brightest.

You did a great job documenting his life. Glad you stayed away from all the gossip about him, and focused on the life of the him as a boy,and the man. Wonder if his apartment is still standing in NYC.

Full circle Jordan. I love all things James Dean and u have made this old lady very happy. It was luck that my patron sun glasses video was at the crash site and now U give us 2 full days of amazing. He was ahead of his time. But most importantly U have done a brilliant job of putting so many of those lies and conjectures about James to rest. U told the real TRUE story and that in itself is a wonderful way to honor and preserve the memory. One last time, thank u for ur hard work and for caring about the truth. And thank u for the orange sunglasses. 😉
