    Question. Whenever I go to load up Ghosts of Tsushima, it recommends that I update my current driver (23.20.24.03) to a more recent one (23.40.27.1) I've looked and it seems the driver I have is the most recent, am I missing something? I've looked everywhere 😢

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm assuming you mean AMD drivers. Here is the most current Legion Go specific, stable build version: pcsupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/legion-series/legion-go-8apu1/downloads/driver-list/component?name=Graphics%20Processing%20Units%20%28GPU%29%20and%20Server-AI%20Accelerators&id=635380F4-448F-4129-AA77-265289D96F6F
      Additionally, here are the beta drivers for May: gaming.lenovo.com/cfs-file/__key/communityserver-discussions-components-files/57/AMD_2D00_GFX_5F00_23.40.28.01_2D00_0426zip.zip
      I would try doing a clean install of the Legion Go December drivers first, since they're stable. If that doesn't work, try the beta one linked. I don't know what bugs they have, but one of these should work.
      Worst case, you could side load official AMD drivers and remove Legion's build of them. Good luck

      No worries, it's the Left Legion Key (top left key/select button) + R3 (pushing the right joystick down as a button) should do it. I did have a delay when I was doing it, and/or had to click it more than once. I have the Legion buttons swapped as well, so it should work either way.

    Can i map keyboard buttons like T, M, I etc? Mouse buttons like right click would be perfect. I dont mind using the trackpad on certain games on xbox. Steam is brilliant with the layout but i dont want to have to buy manor lords when i have it on game pass. And dont like the fps mode lol. Might just have to suck it up and use a mouse

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe you can now accomplish all that you're asking. This new update did a lot for controller mapping, and there is a keyboard and mouse section to map to controller to. Other than the joystick being a mouse, you're good to go.

    • @michaelmiles2647
      @michaelmiles2647 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @ColtonJ just check and can confirm. You can make any button on the controller perform as any mouse button or keyboard button. Will need to test if I can make for example: M2 = Alt and then hold that button and press another to do actions that require it like Alt + mouse movements. But this is everything I wanted from my legion 😁

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I believe so. You can also adjust the speed of the charge in the BIOS now. I believe the system bypasses the battery in many occasions; heat build up, full battery, etc. The speed used to be slow and/or wouldn't charge at all while doing intensive gaming. I believe this new mode hits 80% and then bypasses it as well. I don't think it's flowing through the battery and doing a consistent mini cycle, but I'm not 100% sure on it.

      @ColtonJ  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey, I saw someone else mention this the other day. It does have an error margin of +- 5%, but should still stay below 85% (granted the readings may not be exact in the system anyhow). Last night, I decided to really pay attention to this because of that comment. My first time using the function, it worked. So, I know it works. Last night, it didn't work, just like you. I thought, hmm... Well, I tried Legion Space open (in the background), closed, etc. Nothing seemed to change. I then toggled the damn thing off, waited a few seconds, and then toggled it back on. All of a sudden, it functioned again. I watched closely for 2 hours, it stayed at 80% with the OEM charger (not that I think that matters, lol). For reference, I was in balanced mode using mid-level processing power for what I was doing.
      I hope I don't have to toggle it on/off each time I turn it on. I will watch again next time I use it. Maybe something that simple may kick it in to gear. Hope that helps you out 🙃

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've not heard of that program. If it's strictly an iOS app, then no. You cannot run phone apps from iPhone on PC. Even if you could emulate a jailbroken iOS system, like Android/Windows emulation programs do, it would consume far too many extra resources, and it would not be wise to do so just for this type of app.
      That being said, this unit is more capable than an iPhone, and you could edit videos with better software that is dedicated for PC. My full review shows Premiere Pro, as an example. th-cam.com/video/zsL_41EDUWw/w-d-xo.html

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can try something like BlueStacks to emulate Android on PC and buy the app on there. BlueStacks uses a lot of power/resources from the CPU. Like I said, it wouldn't be smart just to use this basic editing app. There are far better editing apps that will be built specifically for Windows. Editing alone will already strain most systems, or go beyond their limits, including this unit, especially with higher quality video, effects, etc. You can always try it and see what happens.

      I'd definitely turn this new conservation function on. I would go into the BIOS and set the charging to slow (the way it came). I think that's really all you can do. Hey, thanks for the feedback. I will write that down. I did an older video here: th-cam.com/video/XDeUsJldgG4/w-d-xo.html that has the BIOS update how to. Updating the BIOS can be dangerous, so follow all instructions you read from Lenovo before doing them. You can see the website there, but those updates have now been pushed into Legion Space's "update" tab. They are continuing to improve that, so we likely won't need to use the website much longer, except to possibly cross reference versions. I didn't pay attention to the updates until you commented. Now that I check, the chipset is the same issue for me. The BIOS wasn't directly updating from the Legion Space menu either. I went to the Lenovo website to download both and verify. The chipset was already updated, and that appears to be a bug in Legion Space when it reports that particular driver only. The BIOS update went smoothly, and it's no longer in the update section on Legion Space. So, it seems to mostly work for me. I'm sure they'll iron out the rest of the issues soon. Haha... yea, I am also used to very high resolution and settings. However, I've adapted to the visuals this provides. Even if you set at 1200p, it's crisp. It depends on the game and settings, but I have gotten every game to function decently and look pretty good. I look forward to the next iteration with stronger specs and more RAM 🙃

What are you using when it won't work, 3rd party controller software? Did you try opening Legion Space to see if that allows the shortcut to work? Have you updated the controllers from inside the Legion Space menu? That's all I can think of, off the top of my head, lol. Good luck

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Hey, I still choose the Legion Go. The Ally can work for a smaller, cheaper alternative though. They're both good options. I just find the Go has much more to offer me. However, the screen size is the most important to me. Here is the full review I did, if it helps you. Cheers

      Watching FPS on one person's gameplay without them comparing many different settings to optimize, having a control, etc. isn't really a great way to gauge a product. Every game is going to be different. Each one of us can tweak the settings to make certain games perform better than someone else might. If there's one game that you need that just won't perform, and many people get the same results, then that may be viable evidence.
      Additionally, both the ROG and Go have the same processor, with the Go having slightly better RAM and the ROG having VRR, among other differences. It really depends on so many factors to improve gameplay. That's just my 2 cents. Either option is going to work and be very similar in performance.

    Hi, i bought a portable 4k monitor. It's 15.6 inches and 60 hz. When i plug this monitor with usb 4 cable to my legion go, the portable monitor is stuck at 640x480 resolution. Do you know the solution for this issue?

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  หลายเดือนก่อน

      You've tried adjusting the resolution via the Window's display settings, right? You're saying it won't show anything higher than 480p? This could be a lot of things. However, when resolution is stuck that low, it's usually one of two things; the cable, or the graphics driver. I would try updating/reverting/disabling AMD drivers as a variable test, one by one. I would also try another cable to be sure. A lot of cables say they're rated for things, but they aren't. Good luck

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  หลายเดือนก่อน

      I would try the generic Window's monitor driver without any AMD drivers installed. If that works, you know it's the AMD one. Are you using any integer scaling or upscaling functions? I would shut those off for the time being. I'm still betting it's the driver.

    • @ColtonJ
      @ColtonJ  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hey, I didn't meant to reinstall. Although, that can work occasionally, but not typically. I meant to roll-back the driver to an older version. Or, update it to the newest version, if you haven't. Or, uninstall it fully, and use the Window's generic driver to test. Simply reinstalling will give you the same driver, and it likely won't change.

      As simple as it sounds, try to toggle battery conservation mode on and off, then restart, to see if it changes anything. It activated it for me. Also, you could try adjusting the BIOS charge rate settings and restarting to see if it helps. Worst case, you can revert the version back. Did it happen after the Legion Space update only? Or, did you also update other things, like BIOS, at the same time?

      Ah ok, it's possible it's a bug. I will look closer at mine this weekend and see if it's doing that. It's possible that the reading/display is also inaccurate. As long as it's not 100%, it's still an improvement and working to a degree. I think some devices even list 100% as max, but have a built in buffer of 5-10% to conserve the battery from the factory. I guess it could be a lot of things 🤣
