You make videos in a darkroom 😅
🤣 It's actually quite brighter than it looks in the end video, but yeah a bit, lol.
Great video! I would love to see your updated review.
Thanks Abraham! I'm trying to get it done asap. Have an awesome week! 🙃
I have the fold 4 too, and my 2yr contract is up, so I de ided to go with the P9PF from Google this time. It's en route as we speak. I will be sad to lose all the tweaking options and multitasking awesomeness of the fold 4/one ui & the great Good lock app, but i won't miss the F4 front screen that I literally only used for phone calls. Not sure if others saw this, but my crease actually decreased over time (probably from having it open mostly)? I woulda bought the Fold 6 SE if available here, as it woulda gave me the only things I was missing or didn't like about my 2-year experience with fold 4. I'm excited to try a pixel for the 1st time and give stock android a go. I just hope Google improves multitasking on P9PF via a pixel drop or something, I liked using 3 apps at once or 2 side x side with the popup, which I used a lot.
I saw the Fold 6 SE, and I think it looks promising. I wonder if we'll ever see it here, lol. It's still hit or miss using stock Android, for me. I'm working on doing a longer term update asap. I think it's a slow process to see all that I was missing, because I don't use certain things that often. This P9PPF is still proving to be awesome for me, and I hope you enjoy yours. Cheers 🙃
Good video! I am using VSR to render at 1440p and downscale it to my 50inch 1080p TV. What are the ways to get my game to look the best, if hardware/performance is not a problem?
Thanks! For me, it just depends on the game. It also depends on the output too, and the goals, I suppose. I haven't really found a universal way to make all look its best. That's the caveat of PC gaming, we always have to tweak everything 🤣. VSR works well for some games, I think I've used it on older stuff. I really couldn't tell a significant difference between methods on this. I would lean more trying to play native resolutions though and use FSR the most.
@@ColtonJ ok thanks I will try native again and mess around with settings. The first time i tried native it looled terrible and my cpu and gpu usage was stupid low. But now I know a few more settings and what they mean i can try again. Thanks
Excellent review! Do you plan on doing a follow up review on your usage?
Hey, thanks so much! Yes, I planned on doing it sooner. Life is currently getting in my way, haha. I've been compiling little user notes on it for weeks now. I will be working on the longer-term video very soon. I'm still enjoying it. Cheers 🙃
Google is the top company in the world 🌍 ❤ so understand that the phones and their features will also be top class(Made by Google)we trust Google phones and you guys should also use the next generation phone(Google pixel 9 pro fold) i like this Heart Touching Look ❤❤🎉🎉
Yeah, agreed. Google is definitely starting to become a top competitor in the phone market. I really am surprised over how nice this phone is. Thanks for watching, and have a great rest of your week. 🙃
Does your pixel 9 fold make a odd sound when you open it ? The z6 is silent but the pixel almost sounds like somethings wrong
All my folds have made that very subtle creak sound when unfolding. I think it's the screen flex. My Z Folds have all done it too. The Pixel is about half as loud as my Z Fold, but really you have to listen intently to hear it.
@@ColtonJ I agree. Thanks for the reassurance lol
What a long video but very detailed and amazing about Google's new foldable. I have both the Z fold six and the Google pixel 9 Pro fold in the porcelain color and to share my thoughts about both devices. I have put my Z fold 6 aside for now until I'm able to process my jump upgrade because my 15-day return window faded before this phone was released. Although Samsung does have everything you want from a foldable floating windows multitasking and all the good stuff you can do with the S-Pen. The deciding factor for me was a cover display. The one Samsung offers is just too narrow and I stand to my point which most people will not agree with but when it comes to foldables it is the cover display that is and forever will be your daily driver when you step outside of your house to do your personal stuff or just go to work the cover display is what you're going to use on majority of the time now when you are home, you pop your foldable open and consume content or do multitasking Etc on the inter display and Google is offering you a cover display that's normal makes it easy for you to type on and even twist the phone sideways and consume content when you're out of your house and you can be using the large 8 inch display, but thank you for uploading such a comprehensive video with so much detail that explains the differences between foldables. I really enjoyed watching it.
Thanks so much for the kind words. I also agree fully with your perspective, as I feel very similar. I cannot ever go back to the narrow screen now 🤣. I find myself using this phone closed FAR more than my Z Fold, so it really has become beneficial to choose this, in my case. Hopefully you can sell your other phone and break even. Good luck! Have a great weekend 🙃
Ngl so far I'm disappointed with Interger scaling, it looks trashy on the legion go.
Lol, I continually bounce around different methods on different games. On some things, yeah... it doesn't appear to do as much as expected.
I just ordered mine for $588 that is with tax from Amazon. The original price 549.99 from Amazon prime day. I also ordered a grip and stylus for it.
Very nice, hope you enjoy it! 😄
I just ordered the Lenovo legion go for about $588 dollars that's with tax from Amazon. I also ordered a grip and stylus for it. I got the 512gb SSD version.
Subbed, and looking forward to more reviews of this calibre. great work bro!
Thanks so much for the support! I will do my best. Have a good one, cheers 🙃
Ohhh. Thanks for doing a side by side size comparison with the S24U. I have an S23U and looking at getting the 9ProFold, and wanted to see how they compared! I have the OF PixFold and its so heavy and chunky.
Yeah, glad it helped! It's amazingly thin and pocketable feeling. It is taller though. It feels a good amount better to hold than the Pixel Fold 1, but that is just my opinion. Have a good one 🙃
@@ColtonJ :) i like how the original pixfold feels in hand actually. However, after a while Ive found the cover screen cramped, and slightly too small. My needs are "phone first, tablet second", so I want to have max usability while closed. Its also why I don't feel like getting the ZFold, I feel the narrow aspect ratio will give me the same issues of feeling cramped. Thanks again for this excellent video! Subbed!
I agree, the Fold 1 was still pretty awesome, just really heavy... and I don't normally care about weight of phones lol. I also agree on the screen size, I find myself using it so much closed now. Thanks for chatting, cheers 🙂
As others have said before, thank you for such a comprehensive initial review. It's very relevant to my situation as a long-time Samsung user, I'd be looking to upgrade from my Fold 3. Sadly the inner screen failed after 3 years of fault free usage. Are you still enjoying and pleased with the Pixel? I understand the limitations with vanilla Android, the biggest issue for me is no shortcut to switch data between 2 sims. However, my biggest concern that I keep reading online is the lumps appearing along the fold crease after a few days usage. Have you had this problem? Thank you!
Hey thanks for watching. I've not needed that feature personally, so I don't have experience in it. I would assume that something like a tasking app could help with this, maybe some slightly deeper setup, but I see it being possible to swap sims with a shortcut. As far as the lumps, I've not heard of that, but I'm sure there are defects in many products that come out, lol. It may just be a certain batch that was miscalculated in the factory, etc. I have not had that issue at all. I've found it to be pretty tough so far. I've definitely put some gritty/oily hands on the internal screen (working on a car) and haven't been overly cautious with it (other than not dropping it). I haven't even had a scratch that I can see. Hope that helps, cheers 🙃
@ColtonJ thank you so much for taking the time to respond. I'm going to go ahead and order one! We've got a few birthday offers in the UK from the Google Store today. So now seems like the best time to take the plunge. Also, I can't live with no inner screen on my fold 3 anymore!
Yeah, no problem. I couldn't live without an inner screen either 🤣. Hopefully it works out well for you, and happy birthday (early or late). Cheers 🙃
👍👍👍
Yeah z fold 6 is definitely for sale, only wished this $2000 phone had at least a real fast charge not 21 watts and a 1tb option, only reason i bought the z fold 6! Oneplus open even after a year is stil a top contender!
You and me both, lol. Yeah, 1tb should be standard in these devices. I'm still sorting out if the charging is good enough for me 🤣. Have a good one, thanks for chatting 🙃
this was a fantastic review. I look forward to the full review. Also I’m seriously interested in the galaxy buds 3 I’ve been considering that too. I presently own the pixel pro full two but I’ve only had it for maybe a week or two I’ve lost track and it’s really good so thank you
Thank you, appreciated 🙃 Yea, I was looking at the other Pixel stuff that came out, but I haven't jumped on anything yet. The Buds look good, and I'm glad the watch has a larger offering now too. Have a good week!
Is this all done on legion go, or do you need a pc for updates that you’re downloading
It's all done on the Go. 🙂
Great review Colton. I just subscribed. Definitely looking forward to your future post & reviews.
Thanks so much, and welcome! Have an awesome rest of your weekend 🙃
My Legion go had black screen after bios update and never opened again so pls don't try this thing guys
Haha, I hear that. If you don't need the customization, there is no need to deal with the bloatware. There are definite pros and cons to both though.
Pixel for me. One UI feels like a constant clutter.
Yea haha, I kind of hear that too. If you don't need the customization, Samsung has a lot of bloatware. I'm still learning the differences as I go, so time will tell. 🙃
Fantastic review, I can’t believe that you don’t have more subs.
Hey, thank you very much, it's appreciated. It's been quite a few months now, but I hope to grow, lol. Glad it helped you out, cheers 🙃
Keep going on, I like your review 👏👏
Thank you! 🙃 Have a great rest of your week
This is literally the only review I trust for this phone.
🤣 That was funny yet also true, and thank you. In all seriousness, I'm pretty non-biased because I just want the best experience possible, for myself and everyone else on my channel. I don't mind which company provides. Granted, we all want different things in our phones, but so far this seems to be a really good folding option for Americans. I'll update with more pros and cons as soon as I can. Thanks for watching, have a good rest of your day 🙃
I found it interesting watching the feedback. It's clear there hasn't been much in the way of Android options in the US market. Samsung holding on to button navigation is annoying, seems to hold the rest of the world back as it's regressive watching people go back to it. Gesture navigation even has a preview of where you're going from Android 15 onwards, please switch for your own benefit. The data transfer to a PC for backup is also interesting, any reason you're not just wirelessly transferring files or using Phone Link?
I have to respectfully disagree with the buttons. I too have preferences that others may have varying opinions of, but it doesn't mean my way is better. I also think forcing things isn't the way. There are benefits for many with using button navigation. I like gestures, and I don't mind the current navigation as gesture, I've used it plenty. I just prefer solid buttons slightly. I don't use gesture navigation because it ends up interfering with my custom gestures that I use on custom launchers and tasking apps. I also like having the physical buttons on all screens for speed. Sometimes the gestures just don't recognize over certain apps, etc. To each their own, but I think the ideal solution is options, and I've always said this. Options are the best for end users and consumers. Samsung creates options and expands them, Google seems to dictate their methodology, and that's not a win for anyone. I love innovation, and new ways of doing things or optimizing, but we should still have options because no two people are alike. I use a cable because it's the fastest and most stable on very large transfers and ensures no errors halfway through (which happens). I also like browsing my files on a large screen, reminiscent of Windows File Explorer views. I don't want to sit on a small phone and copy/paste/drag, it's very tedious, and I only resort to that when traveling light. Wireless transfer usually has a slower speed and capacity limit, and unless you're on your home wifi, it's not safe or even viable. I use Phone Link all the time, and I wirelessly transfer smaller files. For larger backups, this also will not be ideal. Again, to each their own. I respect that you have your ways, and many others have different ones from both of us. The best someone can do is provide insight, and allow people to develop their own methods because each situation is different. Hopefully that clarifies. Expansive Android options are hit or miss with Google, and I have yet to continue researching, as I'm fairly new to this basic Android experience on Pixels. Samsung Android experience has an answer for almost any sort of scenario, no matter how unusual, you contemplate. Google has workarounds so far that I'm creating. Google also has a few really unique features, some of which are probably very cool. I have found a few, but for basic functionality and fundamental tailoring aspects of what you want, yep, it's limited... so far, lol. I'm going to keep playing with this for a while before posting up all these results that I'm redefining daily. Cheers
Gread vid! Looking forward to mine coming in a few weeks.
Thank you! Yeah, I know the waiting feeling, lol. In my opinion so far, it's worth the wait! 🙃
I returned mine today
Different strokes for different folks, no worries. What was the determining factor for you? Did you go with the Fold 6?
@@ColtonJ I've already got the z-fold 6 Pixel is still far behind. On the pixel 9 pro, something that was irritating me was the little bumps starting to form in the middle of the screen when unfolded. And also the white balance is terrible on the pixel 9 pro fold. The whites looked yellow and almost comical like a comic book color. Another thing is I still don't trust tensor G4 chip. Samsung just has had so much experience in the fold industry and they just do what they do right. My z fold 6 just works great. All of its software is amazing in a folding experience. I like the fact that with the UI on the z fold 6, both the outer screen and inner screen are separate. And they both can look different according to how you want your phone set up. With the pixel 9 pro fold it's kind of forcing you just to have one type of screen sucks. I don't want to download launchers just to make the phone comfortable for myself. Samsung just offers a better experience when it comes to the foldable phones. I love their software experience. Also, I really enjoy Samsung's vibrant screen colors and tones and I never have to adjust the brightness just so I could see the screen. With the pixel 9 pro fold you almost have to have it at 100% every time just to be able to enjoy the screen on a day-to-day basis.
Yeah, I have felt and agree with much of this. I wouldn't say it's far behind, in my opinion since using it, but I need more time with it, lol. I agree that Samsung's software is loads better in many areas. I am compiling a list of things missing, and most of them have ways around so far. That's the good news. I would say that many users don't really go that deep into things, and we may be in the smaller margin. I agree though, it's been an entire learning curve to adapt to the way this phone works vs my many years with Samsung and their much better customization methods. The bumps sound like you may have received a defective device? 🫤. The brightness is more finicky, yep... haha, I sense this one daily. It does seem to bump up to plenty bright enough when needed, but it's nearly automated beyond our control sometimes. I was also in that boat of not trusting the G4 chip. I'm still questioning, but it has been really good so far. Granted, I haven't played games yet or done anything heavy. It's definitely not heating up like I thought it would, so I'm happy with that, and the modem seems to be improved and error free so far. I will update my opinions after some more time though, and hopefully nothing gets worse 🤣. Thanks for the info and sharing. I'm on the same page, and I'm trying to remain optimistic because I just adore this hardware build. I fully agree that the Fold 6 is an awesome phone as well, so I'm glad it worked out for you. Have a good one! 🙃
@@ColtonJ also forgot to mention the inner screen on the Pixel 9 pro fold is extremely delicate fragile being it's fully plastic it's no glass and the z-fold 6 inner screen feels a lot stronger and more premium. It just the z-fold six has a more premium everything compared to the pixel 9 pro fold. They shouldn't have ever used the pro name in their phone there's nothing pro about it
Hey, the inner screen of this model is "ultra thin glass," so it is glass. The foreign phones use a plastic, and that's likely why their crease increases over time. I made sure this phone had UTG before buying, lol. It feels identical to my Samsung Fold, so I have to respectfully disagree. I've even worked on a car yesterday and got dirty, gritty fingers all over it, it's pretty tough so far. I agree the cameras aren't "pro," hardware, and that is something that I didn't like at all. However, the feature set, and some of the hardware construction is only on the phones labeled "pro," so that's likely why they did it. I think the phone feels extremely premium. We all have our opinions though, no worries. I'm going to continue experimenting with it. Have a good one 🙃
How does this have not more views? This is probably the most comprehensive review and comparison video with a lot of in-depth points made. Kudos.
Wow, thanks so much for the kind words 🙃. I am planning a full longer-term review, but I did try to throw a lot of information in this video to provide as much value as I could with the limited time I had it. So glad it helped. Have an awesome day, cheers 🙂
Facts. Great review. Best review!!
Thank you! Appreciated 😄
Thanks Friend
Great video. Comment for algorithm
Thank you for the support, you're appreciated 🙃
GPU,VRAM AND FPS NEVER MOVE!! Anybody have this issue?
It was difficult but i did it
It feels safer now, right? 😄
Appreciate the comprehensive review.
Happy it helped. Cheers 🙃
There now a xreal pro beam , it's a phone form with a screen which sort out the charging issue ⚠️ and it has two cameras for space weariness etc with all the glitches sorted out 2 USB-C and none footwear grapes the previous model had ( just relaying on a 2.5 hour battery but in bank with it's limited use time
I saw that was coming out. It's a fairy affordable alternative for an all-in-one device for these. I don't know if I'll pick one up, but if people are in the market for all the stuff, it looks pretty good. Any experience with it? How does it perform, if so? Either way, thanks for the info 🙃
Thank you for the video! Really well made. Quick question: My friend uses programs such as Adobe illustrator and Photoshop, is it possible to run those Softwares on a 4K 60Hz screen monitor comfortably?
Hey, thank you. I have run it on a 4k 60hz monitor without issue. I did just test a few Photoshop functions that are heavier while connected 4k60, and it was fine. I cannot vouch for all functionality, or guarantee what you're looking for, but it didn't seem to strain it too much. I was running it at 20W or performance mode. I think it would work fine.
Thank you for the answer man! Also, really appreciate the channel. Subbed :)
In all seriousness, I have the device today here in my hands the first day and it sucks, It sucks so hard. The wobbliness of the controllers is insane. It’s feeling life. A rubber duck and buttons are ghosting. There are inputs without pressing it.
It sounds like you got a lemon.
Awesome review, thanks
Glad it was helpful! 🙃
@@ColtonJ are you still happy with the device or did you meanwhile change / sold it?
I love this thing. I still use it almost daily. I also have none of the issues I hear about (other than annoying fan noise when it's a high power game). I really take care of it, so that probably helps maintain its integrity.
@@ColtonJ taking care: do you mean that you never push it to the limit (aka 30 watt TDP?)
Hey, no I just mean that I don't drop it or handle it roughly. l don't put excess tension on the controllers, so mine are not loose or wiggling, etc. I have turned it up to 30W. Turning up the wattage won't do anything to the system, it should self throttle and protect itself from heat. Also, it doesn't run as hot as it could, from my experience. 30W TDP has provided me no noticeable performance boost. 25W can possibly boost games, it's hard to say, but I don't have enough data to be accurate in saying that. I mainly play on performance mode (20W). Most of my games perform great on that.
I Always have my kickstand out on my legion ill curl up and rest the stand on my leg and it's so comfy
Lol... I do the same thing. The kickstand takes away all the fatigue of holding it. I love that thing. 🙃
Best possible quality from IPS 😅😅😅 that's hilarious
Did you tried with nintendo switch?
No, it needs an adapter to work with the Switch to convert the signal. Some adapters will only do video (no sound) as well. It is possible with extra cables,, but I have not tried it.
@@ColtonJ i bought an adapter but the image is White and black, stuck at 480p and in the corner, very little. Which adapter did you use sucessfully?
I have not tried it, but here's what I would do. I would use the official adapter here: amzn.to/4c84MVe from Xreal. That adapter has a 3 hour battery life. So if you're good with just playing Switch for 2-3 hours at a time, that's all you'll need. If you need to keep it charged and use it longer, you can use this adapter here: amzn.to/4eD0vuD . With the Xreal adapter, this second adapter will let you charge and play it at the same time. You'll need both. It will also let you charge your phone at the same time, if you use that. Cheers 🙃
@@ColtonJ but i have legion glasses. Will it work? The adapter I bought says it works with xreal and nintendo but doesn't work properly with lenovo
I cannot tell you for sure, so make sure you buy from Amazon so you can return it, if it doesn't work. However, they have the same protocol, I would really assume that it would work for the Legion Glasses without issue. I am not 100% though
Keep up the good work hopefully you make a legion go june update.
That's the plan! Thanks for the support 🙃
You didn’t update the bios in this video.
Yea, it was updating/changing the BIOS menu. Sorry for the confusion. In this video here: th-cam.com/video/fk_kFMpk7fU/w-d-xo.html I discuss BIOS update tips around 2-3 mins. Maybe that will help you.
Great video! Just picked mine up and this was pretty fire!
Thank you! This device is awesome, I hope you enjoy it. Have a good one 🙃
I love how thorough and detailed this is, while still being easy to watch. Great job, you earned a sub from me!
Thanks Matt! I appreciate the kind words and support. I'm happy it helped. Cheers 🙃
regarding Ally for anyone reading. Get custom resolutions and install them. You will get 960x540 that you can use in games and then either enable Integer thru registry to be shown in AMD Display settings or just simply use RSR and leave you native resolution but then in game (in full screen mode) chose that new 960x540 resolution. It works and it looks great even when "pixel peeping" I find it hard to noticed that it is in any way worse than 1080p and whit standard viewing distances it looks awesome!
Thanks for sharing the advice 🙃
Awesome brother ,thank you !
Very happy it helped you! Cheers 🙃
Hello again, how is it possible to stop 🎮 opening keyboard mid game on some games pressing controller buttons it opens keyboard in screen
Is this the Legion Go's controller? If so, the shortcut keys LLB (left Legion button) + B opens the keyboard. I'm guessing you swapped the Legion buttons with start/select. Mine still works, even swapped. Even when I change the controller mapping, the LLB + B still does this. I'm assuming you're pressing some combination of those two. If not, you may have touch keyboard settings that you can adjust or turn off within the ease-of-access menu. I don't think the on screen keyboard is the same as the Windows one that can be disabled with Win key + ctrl + o. However, I haven't played with it enough. You may be able to disable this in the device manager or even registry, but I cannot confirm that. If it were me, I'd remap the buttons you keep pressing so often that are enabling this shortcut. Either remap the select button to the back (I use Y3 or M1/M2). That, or remap B button. At least you'll stop hitting the shortcut for now. Other than that, I'd need more info to help you. Good luck with it 🍻🙃
@@ColtonJ xbox controller I found the issue thank you
these nuances are exactly the info i need in order to understand. i was leaning toward the viture for a day, then saw an explaination about the warmth they produce. a deal breaker. xreal seems to be the best. as you explain about the distortion, i may retrun to researching the quest3. thank you much for your hard work and diligence.
I appreciate that, and I'm happy it helped you. Good luck in your decision. Have a good week 🙃
