  • Today, we take a trip back almost 20 years ago, when Chrysler was deep in the Badge Engineering game with their entire corporate lineup. All of their cars and vans were pretty much the same car, with the exception of division-specific exterior/interior details. The "Cloud Cars", as they became known, due to the naming, were actually very popular among new car buyers, due to the excellent leasing structure around them. The Plymouth Breeze was the low-level version of the car, with the Dodge Stratus being the more sporty, and generally better-equipped version of the Breeze. The Cirrus was the top-of-the-line trim, and as a result, was more expensive than the latter two.
2000 would be the last year of the cars, as they would be extensively re-designed. The Breeze disappeared with the Plymouth brand becoming defunct, Stratus would remain with the Dodge car, and the Cirrus became the Sebring Sedan.
Here, we are taking a detailed in-depth walk-around look at the interior and exterior of this 2000 Chrysler Cirrus LXi
    Exterior Color: Champagne Pearl Metallic
    Interior Color: Camel Premium Leather
    Engine: 2.5L SOHC 24V SMPI V6
    Transmission: 4-Speed UltraDrive 41TE Automatic

Neighborhood Car Reviews gives you an alternative look at the already impressive list of car videos that are online. What we do is a first-person walk-around of the car. We show features and details that are on the particular model being shown. Performance data, safety equipment and the like are usually not shown due to the already enormous amount of videos that cover the aforementioned topics.
We like to cover everything from classics to high-end and everything in between.

Thank you so much for this. I hope you find great success on TH-cam my friend. You're what saabkyle used to be sometimes people want to appreciate an in depth review on classic older vehicles, not new ones they cant afford. 👍

D Tay Thank you! Although I am not trying to copy Saabkyle, I cannot lie when I say I’ve taken inspiration from his old-style reviews. It’s a good formula, and I’ve added my own to it. As I find these older cars, I will be reviewing them! They are quite fun to do, and I feel
It really helps preserve them digitally for someone in the future to see how they were! Something that wasn’t available in the previous decades! I still like reviewing new vehicles as well.

@@NeighborhoodCarReviews well I personally greatly appreciate it. Not to impugn Kyle's work but I haven't watched his videos in years simply because I can watch a review of a new vehicle anywhere. I love automotive history and to see a TH-cam channel that primarily focuses on older vehicles allows me to appreciate where they came from

Currently have a 1998 Cirrus LXi! Best car they ever made. Owned 4 different model years of these cars. A better car for the money than most of the newer stuff they got out today IMHO. Love the spacious interior and autostick too. Very fun to drive.

I’m honored and humbled that my channel has made you happy! I love and will always review brand new cars, but finding the older ones in excellent shape, like this Cirrus, are equally compelling. I treat it as a sort of digital preservation for someone many years down the road to look back and say “wow, so that’s what they were like!” It’s a tall order, but it’s my passion.

Awesome video and thank you for your tour. I am buying the twin of the one in your video. Exactly the same thing including the color. I'm buying mine from a senior citizen who is unable to drive anymore. Sad to say she lost a leg to diabetes, her son is a good friend of mine and has control of assets including the vehicle. I took it out for a drive and it was superior up against my 98 Saturn Sl2. I appreciate your time and effort 👌 for this video. Oh and yes I'm keeping my Saturn because it has been good to me but it's a bit needing a rest. It's going to be my goof 🤪 around car. Merry Christmas by the way.

Just found one at an auction for $450 buy it now price. 69k miles, same color. Would you recommend buying this? What are the cons? Is there roughly a certain mileage you reach on this car to where it is common for things to go out? Always heard bad stuff about Chrysler, but didn't want to let that discourage me. Any comments about the car are aporeciated. Thanks in advance.🙏🏽

@@joser81 I did, but I am having a starting issue. Car cranks, but no start. Replaced starter and battery, and now it wont turn over. Had an issue with oil getting on a bunch of stuff underneath because the oil filter was not screwed on tight and oil shot out and car died when I picked it up and drove it home from auction. Car fired up fine when I first started it. Running out of things to check. I can hear the fuel pump when I turn the key. But there is an oil light on now and it wont go away. I added oil after losing oil when I was driving home. Could this car be in protection mode or something? And how do I reset the oil light?

I have a 2014 Chevy Spark which is a cool car, although I really like the Chrysler Cirrus and Dodge Stratus. If I could own a second car, I’d definitely own one of those. I would even own a Dodge Grand Caravan as well.

@@bigron510 not so great, but the previous owner abused it. i had it for about 2 years and drove it 50,000 km over those 2 years. I sold it for like $300 when it started leaking several fluids lol

    • @bigron510
      @bigron510 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@870MH Tried driving mine home and it was fine and not leaking when I checked it out. Let it run in park, no problems. Got on the road and after about 15 miles I started hearing what I thought was a small exhaust leak when I hit the gas. Started losing pressure when on the gas, then I stepped on the gas hard, and I seen in the rear view all my oil shot out/white smoke. Was wondering if the auction house damaged my oil pan/gasket when bringing the car out on a fork lift. Never seen an oil leak/loss out the blue like that except when I got a car a few years back from a different auction. I didn't see any visible damage to oil pan. Any idea as to what could have been the cause? I know without seeing the car or being there when it happened, it's hard to tell. Just looking for any kind of direction. I'm lost. Lol

@@bigron510 it's hard to tell. the engine seals are known to leak on these cars but not catastrophically like that. also hate to say it but it's an old mopar vehicle, it's gonna have problems. hope you have a trusted local mechanic

Chrysler needs to bring back the seal and wings logo from the 90's the current one is bland as hell
