I've seen a lot of comments about him not having aspd or not acting like it at all and I just wanted to say that aspd is generally very hard to spot, especially in people who are actually trying to get better. If you can't spot it, it doesn't mean it's not there.

Yes, you can. They all have the sociopathic stare, that mirk. I don't see it on this guy. Also on Quora many self aware sociopaths/psychopaths are not. I met much worse ones in real life.

@irme8930 I'm pretty sure Greg is also autistic. He's done videos on it.
That deeply effects the sociopathic look as the awkwardness of ASD can come through/ mask it.

Its quite ironic, but its veey difficult for sociopaths to act "like one" because its in their nature to be manipulative and as he said 'know what to say'. They are so good at adapting that unless you catch them in the midst of an outburst, you are unlikely to know anything is wrong

He treats people like objects that are meant to serve him and if they don’t they get hurt. He obviously feels like they deserve the harm and he’s not “shy” about doing what he feels is right.

It is in fact difficult to teach these guys empathy. It’s difficult to teach them to view others as more than just opportunity too. I say this from 4 years of experience being married to someone with antisocial personality disorder. He’s been officially diagnosed by a psychologist, but gets super offended when I say anything about it because as smooth as he is when he lies to other ppl, he’s also that smooth when he lies to himself and he’s convinced that if no one mentions it, it doesn’t exist. My husband, while he may sound simple enough, is a very, very intelligent man. From my own experience, I’d say that although they definitely are capable of change, it’s a very slow process and unless you’re okay with living out the rest of your life with someone who’s just never going to fully get it, never going to be able to have any in-depth conversation with you, never going to have anything besides a transactional relationship, someone who’s always going to secretly resent you for something, don’t try it at home. They’re very hurtful creatures. I love my husband and I’m proud of his progress. I’m still with him and I know he loves me in his own way. But I also fully understand that unless I leave him, it’ll never be enough. Not really.

Recognizing the effects of past experiences is an important step in understanding oneself and working towards personal growth.
If you find that these experiences are negatively affecting your relationships or well-being, it might be helpful to explore these feelings further. Seeking support from friends, family, or a mental health professional can provide guidance and strategies to navigate these challenges and work towards positive change. ❤

I find it easier to believe this person has cognitive empathy. Hard to believe he has learned to develop emotional empathy. Lacking emotional empathy does not automatically make someone a bad person though. You can choose to do the right thing and be kind to people despite lacking emotional empathy. I don’t know this person so I have no idea whether he uses fake empathy to manipulate people or not, but just know that not all sociopaths are bad people. Some of them do treat people with kindness and respect and have a desire to do the right thing. The reasons they want to do the right thing might be different than a neurotypical person, but they can still be kind regardless. your comment might not have had the intention to vilify this man, but it gives off that impression. it would be much more beneficial to the world if we did not label all people with aspd as ''bad bad evil manipulator. they'll steal your money and kill your cat''. while i'm not defending actual abusers, it comes off as dumb and simplistic when somebody believes all ''psychopaths'' to be highly skilled manipulators. yes, they lack self awareness in situations where a neurotypical would probably have it. yes, empathy is not intuitive and instinctual to them. distancing yourself from the person you ''used to be'' is not even that antisocial of a trait. you've probably cringed at things you've done as a child or teenager. it is human nature to attempt to grow as you progress through life. his brain has developed differently, and obviously, if he has been in prison, he has committed some sort of crime, but the man on the screen is very clearly just some guy. a guy with a brain that does not allow him to function as he is ''supposed'' to. it is not something to pity, but it is idiotic to boil it down to ''he's so manipulative and everything he says actually means this other, worse thing''. most people with aspd aren't even psychopaths, as the term is not an existing diagnosis, but instead used for criminal profiling to describe a person who lacks empathy, remorse, is impulsive and violent. most people with aspd might not even be aware that they are being manipulative. it is natural for them to attempt to get what they want, and it is the only way they know how. again, not defending it. but we should really grow up and stop thinking of mental health disorders, especially personality disorders, as bad. sorry if my comment was super long or if i seemed offensive at any point. i didn't mean to make it seem as though you were doing something ''bad'' or attacking this man specifically. i am just very passionate about the subject, and get a bit too invested when presented with a chance to yap about it :)

Empathy is people asking you to actually feel what they feel about a situation . Which kinda is shit.
Sympathy works without putting you though someone's irrational emotions or having to agree with them when you actually don't.
Asking someone to empathise can sometimes be a really toxic thing.
Why should someone have to actually be going through your emotions . It's almost like an eye for an aye thing.
Pretty vampiric kinda stuff. It's just people dont often see it this way.
Don't put people through your pain just to prove they care.
Sympathy is rational and prevents people from becoming as incapacitated as the the person asking for empathy.

I think we can’t expect people to empathize with our individual emotions however if a person can and chooses to do so, its really good of them and it’s a lovely quality to have within yourself for other people, it can be draining sometimes but you have to learn to deal with it your own way and ensure you don’t give more than you’ve got, ofc if people are constant asking to be empathized with and are not willing to do the same its very toxic

The idea of empathy is great . That's why it speaks to do many people who virtue signal and actual don't do it. They just say they do to be able to further manipulate actually empathic people.
This is a deeper reason why I greatly discourage it. And greatly discourage anyone from disclosing themselves as empathic or even "loving empathizing " with people.
Because you wouldn't know. It's for the person being empathised with to validate if you are or aren't empathic.
It has and always will be a judgement and a meaningless flex.
      Actions speak louder than words.
It's the weak who want power over the weaker that use emotional manipulation tactics such as this.

However I do believe nature should be preserved and respected. I think if you hit a wild animal such as a deer, elk, or hog, you should take it home and eat use its hide for a rug or blanket and use every part of the animal. But if its a cat or a dog sure that's sad I've never liked cats all that much because I've had bad experiences with them as a kid. But as dog lover I would be upset not sad but angry. Its not the drivers fault its the owners fault people really need to know how to watch their dogs. But it angers me the most when people don't respect nature. (((21yrs old)))
I wouldn't say I have sociopathy but is something I may be speculating while trying to understand myself.
As time goes on during the discovery of my own mind, I have noticed that I am different from people. So far I believe I have ADHD, not entirely sure of Aspergers. These 2 can overlap causing inconsistencies with one another making it hard to truly know if you have one or the other, or even both. But Sociopathy has been on my mind this past week.
Lately I have been studying the way I interact, how I feel and "what makes me different" and one thing I have sort of noticed is my laughter when someone is hurt. For example someone at work slipped due to wet floor, and I couldn't help but smile without any sign of remorse, especially since it wasn't even intentional. They was hurt. I did then "try" and ask if they were okay but it was more like I was forcing myself to care, which I really didn't. All I wanted to do was gain respect from that individual, especially since me and them weren't exactly on great terms. After all, she didn't really enjoy my presence which sort of annoyed me, as many people enjoy talking to me, but other times they find me cold and rude. Not entirely sure why as it is just my personality I would say. However, after eventually asking her "How is your arm?" she sort of 'warmed up' a bit? Hard to say. Not saying Sociopathy / Anti-social personality disorder is something you want, but if I suspect it is present in my mind, then I need to start observing my own behaviour more.
(After finishing that last sentence, for some strange reason I was thinking "observing my own behaviour more, and study it while adapting to other people. Not exactly 'normal' way of thinking)
I have grown up quite distant from people due to school bullying, which many people called me "cocky" which I don't believe I was, just highly out-going and reserved [which the reserved was adapted the more the bullying went on]. I don't want to get "tested" for Sociopathy, but at the same time I want to truly understand who I am to know why I think like the way I do, so if I do truly have it then I suppose that clears up a lot of confusion.

I'm definitely not a psychologist, but I had similar thoughts and experiences like you a while ago and actually went to get it checked with a licensed psychologist. Though I thought I had aspd, it turns out it was npd which has a lot of similar symptoms like aspd and thus is often confused with it. That's also the reason why I know so much about it and am pretty confident at distinguishing those two from each other. With that I'd say though you might have some aspd experiences, they are more similar to npd. I would recommend you inform yourself about that disorder (actually do it instead of instantly rejecting it like I did at first) and then get it checked out by a professional, at least to get your diagnosis sorted.

@@peppermint7878 NPD seems quite far from what I may have though? Haven't looked into what it is yet, but it is to do with Narcissism [as far as I know atm].
But I don't consider myself high confidence? In fact it is relatively low. However, there are moments when I sort of develop this "God complex" or "Superiority Complex". This is due to me valuing myself over anyone else, which is normal. Your life is your life, so it is the most important. I care for only myself, but I believe I know the real answer to it, as I learnt something called "Emotionally detached".
Read 2 days ago while heading to work, and all the symptoms are 100% present. Unlike other ones, I have for sure sensed that symptoms of being emotionally detached majority if not all the time. Which could be how other mental illnesses could have crept their way in and taken place. I never truly feel myself. I always feel like my personality is always changing and adapting, so I can never really be "one person". I don't have passions, friends and strangely I don't care about anyone or really anything. Video games help me past time and its all I want, but people around me frown upon that, which is why I want to start trying to earn money from content creation. So that way I live in peace, alone and in solitude. Life is boring. Depression? Most likely. Anxiety... uncertain, either it turns on and off or just goes unnoticed.
What makes things difficult is that I believe I have some form of "intelligence" compared to the average individual, and due to this it somewhat aids in combating certain aspects of my life. Im logical about almost everything. Kind of hate it. Because I can never be myself. Always got this back-seater in my head, like there is 2 people in control. My body doesn't feel like mine half the time and my mind doesn't feel me the other times. So what the hell lol

@@CounttlessYT I would really recommend you to look into npd, because your symptoms really do seem like more npd than aspd. The things is, npd is often highly misunderstood by people who are too lazy to do their research, which is why the general public often has a wrong view of that disorder. Narcissist can feel insecure, especially when they're been masking their disorder very well and for very long, but most of the time that happens because they're confused in their feelings and don't know which feeling they should perceive as the real one. This leads to them believing they're insecure while deep down "knowing" they're better. To really understand if you have aspd or npd, I would first of all advise you to do a lot of research about both topics, but also to ask yourself whenever you intensionally or unintentionally hurt or deceive someone, what your goal behind that action was. Was it to reach a certain goal or gain respect (most likely npd) or was it to just see them hurt because it excites you (most likely aspd)?

The world tends to treat them like shit, and then some of them reach a boiling point from the constant negative feedback loop, oftentimes for factors out of their control, so they go on to do the unthinkable and become mass shooters because they can’t stand the evil side of humanity, despite hearing how “good” most people claim to be around others they like.
