Honestly not a Ohio state fan but I think Haskins is one of the most accurate QB I’ve ever seen. I think he will be the best QB to come out of the conference. His Michigan game isn’t all that impressive cause it’s just him throwing against man coverage but other games like northwestern TCU Washington were all extremely impressive especially TCU he had a receiver drop like 4 passes in that game that were easy touchdowns. Hope giants pick him up and fix the o line problems. Haskins with Barkley and Beckham would be fun to watch

I wouldn't underestimate those shallow crossers where the receiver is moving away from the QB. There's about a 6" difference in placement that changes a TD into 8 yards and a first down. The same goes for those timed swing routes. They act as a sweep and a few inches of loft or behind messes up the timing and turns a potential big gain into an incompletion or no gain.
Also, it's important to remember that after identifying the man coverage, pressure or whatever, he's the one adjusting protection and changing plays to take advantage of it.
The dude is really good and got better every week.
Andrew Gill ya your absolutely right but that’s expected out of a starting NFL QB. Hitting a lot of short routes does matter about ball placement and that’s one thing he did great against michigan was hitting drag routes while the receivers were in stride and let them get serious YAC. The thing I love most about him is 1. His release 2. His accuracy 3. When he dissects hevay zone coverages like northwestern and tcu. His ball placement is amazing against zone where he fits it into the smallest windows. My one knock which is something completely coachable is to recognize where the blitz is coming from and make throws off the blitz and i would like to see him scoot up into the pocket fast to avoid those blitz’s but Ohio states scheme a lot of times has so many routes from the tight ends and the running backs that there is no one there to pick up the blitz

What's crazy is that folks think a player is slow because he runs .5 tenths of a second slower than the next person. By NFL standards that maybe considered slow depending on the position. So whether you're running a 4.5 or 5.0 at 6"5 230lbs + that's still pretty darn fast.
Unless your expecting to have Michael Vick speed at QB, Haskins has enough speed to move around the pocket and get the necessary yards for a nice gain or first down ala Aaron Rodgers as an example.
It's easy to criticize a guy but if you can play in the NFL, you would not be leaving comments on TH-cam criticizing any player.
You'd be training and trying to improve your game.
If the Giants take Haskins, he'll play with passion and dedication since he grew up in Jersey as a Giants fan and has a great attitude.

@@zarateciddkast9329 When you mention throwing on the run, you are correct, and it's very underrated from him. He knows how to flip his shoulders in order to get the power out of his body to make throws that others cant make. He flips his shoulders similar to Mahomes, just slower, and with less power than him.

He may never sprint 40 yards in a straight line for time for the rest of his life. It's not very important for a QB that throws.
I've seen every one of his snaps 2+ times and by the middle of the season and through the finish he was excellent at feeling pressure and quickly maneuvering within the pocket with a combination of short-area quickness, strength and the ability to maintain downfield vision. It starts with him presnap and understanding the possible ways a defense will try to pressure and having answers for each (or as many as possible).
Being ultra-athletic comes in handy when you aren't prepared and it can bail you out, but wouldn't you rather just be prepared?
He's looks good. Strong arm and accurate. Runs slow but fluid.

I think it's more of the fact that SAS called him more of a runner than a thrower 😂. Or they assume because he's black he's going to be an RG3. However, when you're Manning or Brady, you don't need to run fast when you have o-lines like that.

As an Ohio State Alum and rabid Buckeyes fan, I’ve watched Haskins every week. Compared to other college QBs he has the size the NFL loves, and the cannon arm and accuracy that front offices drool over. He is hands down the best QB in this class, and anyone who gets him will have their franchise centerpiece for the next decade (or whenever he decides to call it quits). If my Browns didn’t already have Baker, I would love to draft him. But seeing him hand off to Saquon and drop dimes to Odell would also bring me joy.
Dude I don't watch CF or want to but just saw some highlights. Will try to see more, but dude I like this kid even out of QBs last year. He got the size, arm strength, but he seems to get passes right on target and is honestly not that slow. I just worry he seems to never have pressure on him but I feel he can grow through it. As a Giants fan, would love him behind Eli this year. Guy can ball.

Speed, arm strength aren’t as important as the mental/IQ like pre snap reads, progression, pocket awareness, ball placement, etc. We’ve seen prospects with cannons of an arm like Josh Allen, and fast prospects like Vick, Jackson, rg3, etc. The key to Haskins success in the pros will be the mental aspects of playing the QB position.

The thing that helps him is his ownership of the protection. By knowing presnap the possible ways he'll be pressured, he can adjust, anticipate and have answers. He can be great. It's gonna be up to him. I believe in him.

Yea I agree. Fortunately for Haskins, all of the coaches told him he was the most impressive of anyone they interviewed when they met and broke down all of those pre snap reads, etc.
Boy Wonder that’s wrong about browning he fell off the map with his terrible senior season. Haskins just doesn’t have much experience considering his one year of being a starter but that will come with playing in the nfl. I think his transition to the nfl will be a lot like his season at Ohio State he’ll do well in the beginning especially if he gets drafted to a team like the giants but he’ll get better with every game. Or maybe if he has the luxury of sitting behind Eli for a year or less and learn all he can from him similar to Patrick Mahomes. Say what you want about Eli, but he can still teach a young extremely talented quarterback like Haskins.

Not every black Quarterback is going to be Michael Vick! This is the standard that most (75-80%) EXPECT or WANT To SEE when we see or hear about the next good to great black quarterback. I like this kid, can’t be crucial on his 40 being that he’s 6’3 and 230, Eli and Brady probably run a 6 on the 40yd dash. He has an arm and I think that’s what’s important. The accuracy and the QB IQ being able to read defenses, clock management that’s where this guy excels. Keep in mind Murray already has a red flag with the attention he’s pulling which isn’t very positive. Haskins is being professional and doing what he’s supposed to do, now you tell me who’s gonna handle that NY media better?
