First off, great video!! Can You show us how you strapped your car seat to the RZR? Having some issues with ours, it seems as though our little guy is leaning forward too much. Please and thanks!
I agree. I had a Fox Raceframe 700 gram helmet for my son, but left it out of this video. He was struck my a big kid on a bigger bike at a motocross track and it cracked. I realized I need to have more protection when he is on his motorcycle, and I wanted to add a DOT option for people that absolutely want to go that route, or their kids are big enough to use one safely (IMO).
This is great! Thank you for doing this video. My grandson isn't quite old enough yet but I've been thinking about this for a while. The weight was my biggest concern. It might be expensive but, I bet PRP would be willing to fabricate something made for kids into the seat. Great info!
@@ChupacabraOffroad I have nothing but good things to say about the guys at PRP. I am a quadriplegic and had a RZR converted so that I can drive it with a joystick. I needed substantial lateral support for my torso so that, in-turn, would stabilize my arm for driving. The idea was, if my body doesn't move around my arm won't be flopping around because of the body. I wish I remember who I spoke with because he was fantastic. He told me we could add a strap here and add a strap there, that should do what you're looking for. It worked out great. Besides that, the quality of their seats are outstanding.
Chelsea Cooper we have 3” 4 point harnesses from PRP, so I simply put the boosters into my seats and secure the kids and the seats with the harnesses. When I was using a smaller car seat, I used a ratchet strap to secure it to my stock seat. I think smaller 2” harnesses is the better bet for kids in the back. I hope this helps 👍🏼
Chupacabra Offroad I bought both of the car seats your using in this video. So I’ll just do what you said an put them on top on the original seat an use the harnesses. Thank you!
Hey Nick, quick question about the child seat for the younger one, how does that strap in to the UTV? Are you using anything other than the seat belt to secure it? I'm renting a UTV in Wyoming in a few weeks and want to make sure I bring whatever necessary (ratchet straps, etc.) to keep my 4 year old's seat secure. Thanks!
It fits snug into the seat, and I ssecure my kid and the jumper with the 4 point harnesses. Bring a ratchet strap as well, but I just cruise when my little guy is in the RZR.
@@ChupacabraOffroad Yes, we won't be doing anything more than just cruising around, but just wanted to try to be as safe as we can, and be prepared since we don't own the UTV. It's a Honda Pioneer 1005-S. If you have any other tips for securing, I'm all ears. Thanks for posting this video, easily the most helpful one I've found so far!
@@emorocker832 Bring the ratchet strap. My RZR has hugging PRP seats, the Honda is a cheap washboard seat and most likely doesn't have 4 point harnesses as well, so the ratchet will keep your kids seat firmly in place.
What are your thoughts on neck braces for kids? We just put a bench seat in the back of ours for our son to sit in the middle. He's been in a car seat but now will just be in the middle seat. Im worried about his neck support.
I have a small Alpinestars and it didn't really help, a motocross neck roll. My wife added a airplane sleep pillow to the front of my 3 year olds chest, so his helmet and neck to move around as much in the dunes and it helped quite a bit.
hey nick. thanks for the video ive been looking for a full face for my 2.5 y/o kid who is transitioning from strider to stacyc… I saw your 4.5 y/o wearing it… how is your 2.4 one handing that helmet? in or outside the utv. or, how old was the big kid when you first got it? ps: took me a long while to find the video. i think if you include the helmet model on the title will get more views. there are no youth 100% status reviews out there. thanks again
If 100% wants to send me free helmets I'll promote it more, this is unbiased and I like the helmet for the price, styling etc, we have 2 of them, get one and you'll be happy.
Awesome info, my wife n I are buying helmets for our grandkids to ride with us and your vid was helpful. Thanks.
Hello, Will you be able to do a video or let me know how you hook on hook on that Britax toddler booster seat. Thank you.
This video was much needed, thank you!!

Yes I would like to see this also. I have a 5 and a 2 year old so i think we are getting both of these seats and helmets you use.
Kids full face mountain bike helmets are also great and super lightweight. Balance between protection and not being to heavy for there neck.

I just bought the Pro Tec Certified for my 4 y.o

PRP made booster seats at one time and their 2" size harnesses are perfect for the little ones.

Thanks for the info. Should I be able to make that car seat for the 2 year old work with 5 point harness?
don't have this but am very interested in purchasing ...

Great info but the audio kinda sucks. Get a mic.
