MagfedBear ! I had a pair of etnies too (marana vulc), and they lasted about a month. They were super comfortable but they didn't last long at all. Never tried emerica though, maybe I'll try those next
Brandon sever I ride sombrio shoes which are meant to grip to pedals well and oh man they are special. I wouldnt go back to anything other than sombrio or 5ten cause theyre so great. Im from a mountainbike background originally and use them for BMX now too and its so much better than any other shoe ive ridden
Except for that Protec one, you might as well not wear a helmet. It´s not going to save you from brain damage, which is the main reason to wear a helmet.
I had a pro tec helmet and it has a warning inside saying that "This product provides minimal protection against impacts and does not meet any established safety standard". I guess it's good for a starter helmet only not for hardcore riders.
Awesome video, Adam. I'm 28 and just recently got back into biking after a long, long break. My parents drilled into my head at a very early age that, "if you're on a bike, you're wearing a helmet." And now with a 4 year old that enjoys tearing around the neighborhood on his Strider, I'm trying to do the same. Growing up I used to hear so many kids talking about how uncomfortable helmets are, and how they get in the way. So, it's really awesome to see someone like yourself take the time to address this in a way that makes sense. Thanks again!
ok so, i ended up in the hospital and was admitted over night and i was thinking about quitting bmx because my parents also wanted me to from past injuries.. but from past videos and this video i was able to buy a helmet i like and am still able to ride so i just wanted to say thank you cause youre my biggest inspiration in bmx, so thanks again haha
wear a full face helmet and a mouthguard. i recently split my chin open by faceplanting it dislocated my jaws and i was wearing a good certified helmet but i think for full protection, full face helmet will do
Hey Adam, happy you like our Superlight. After watching your video, I thought you should look into our Dawn Flex helmet. It's a full-cut though with hardshell ear protection, it fits similar to the (unsafe) soft-foam helmets but comes with EPS foam and is certified. The foam is segmented and not as stiff as a regular hardshell helmet.
I've been using the POC crane Soderstrom edition helmet for a few months now and love it. Its light, comfortable, and looks good. Tbh ive been very impressed with POCs helmets as i use them for downhill mtb too. They may be a little more expensive than some, but the price is really worth it with the quality you get. I ride anywhere from 2-5 times a week and never had a single issue. Just my 2 cents though
Having worked as a nurse on the acquired brain trauma department I´ve seen the consequences of wearing no helmet or a bad quality one. Brain damage can end your life as you know it, it happens sooner than you think. So please, wear a helmet guys and girls.
Shoes, shoes, definitely shoes! Most people take them for granted and as a fancy accesory with not that much importance but it does. Having you speaking about shoes for doing good bmx would be nice, you can invite Jason, Bert or whatever biker you want.
I did not know they even sold non certified helmets! I run a Bell full face. I think if your gonna wear a helmet it may as well save your face / teeth also.
Hey Adam, If you're looking for a new helmet to try you should definitely go for the POC Crane (not the cheaper version of it) It's kind of expensive but I don't regret one cent of what I paid for it. You can adjust it to your head, it looks great, is very lightweight and surely one of the safest freestyle helmets out there. Thanks for encouraging kids to wear helmets! Not enough BMXers on TH-cam do that. Peace
your right about the protec bucky helmet, i have the same exact ones and i tend to face plant a lot, and almost each time i end up getting a concussion which isn't good at all, ill definitely look into buying another helmet. Also, the padding changed on the helmet, they have sweat absorbed pads in there and they are also quite comfortable now.
awesome video! I've been riding with an uncertified helmet and after seeing a massive concussion/fractured skull last weekend Im upgrading to a certified helmet today.
I picked up the Triple Eight Brainsaver dual certified helmet and it felt like it sat really high on my head. You had to push the front down to cover enough of the forehead, but in doing so the back raises up and exposes about in inch of the skull, which felt a little weird. I ended up returning it and picked up the Bell Segment, which is also certified for bikes and skating. Feels like covers both the from and back adequately.
I wear a relatively new helmet from Giro called the Giro Quarter (certified), best helmet i've ridden, looks great, fits super snug and really fits down and around your head comparing to a pro-tec classic bike which kinda just sits on top. Comes pretty far down the back of your head too so it gets better coverage than most helmets.
For lightweight certified helmets, how about the Pro-Tec Street Lite? Also the Bell Faction (Van Homan, Chad Kerley, Connor Lodes, etc.) or the Bell Segment (Mark Burnett, Jamie Bestwick, etc) I personally switch between the Street Lite and Bell Faction! Been riding for 9 years and only recently started to wear a helmet! BTW, awesome review!!!
LZ BMX Try on Berts helmet. Might not be your size tho. When you get the right size, it's really snug and never stretched(at least for me). Lining can get pretty damaged tho. Plus there's some extra lining you can choose from.
Hey Adam you should do daily videos trust me your videos are amazing I could watch your content all everyday all day. Keep up the good work and I love your car
I have a fly racing dirt park helmet. I got it cause it was certified and cheap in price. It only comes in one size with 3 pad sizes to custom fit to your head and I mean I like it cause it fits tight and feels secure but it's only good for people who have relatively small heads because the only foam that feels comfortable is the medium to the thick foam. The foam I use though is mostly medium with one thin foam piece on my left side and a thick piece at the front of my head to keep it from moving. Ill use it till it breaks then get a new one and try out my options.
All helmets are disposable dosent matter if its $50 or a $1000 there good for a couple of bumps or one good smack after that the structural integrity is compromised the foam is what is protecting you and when its impacted the air pockets pop taking the force and intern the helmet becomes brittle. The tsg suplight is the first helmet i actually like to wear and sometimes i forget i am even it on lol. Cheers from the great white north eh!
Great video, very informative as usual. As far as other videos, definitely one on shoes. I can't seem to find a good pair that makes me feel comfortable when I ride. Thanks!
could you do a bike check sometime soon because I'm lost with what parts and stuff you have on your bike and which bike you ride and stuf haha thanks !
i have been riding for over 10 years without a helmet and its alright just going round the block a couple of times but as you grow older and you start going further and getting into more situations I've found that i'm wanting to get myself a decent helmet more and more even though if you have never worn a helmet before they can feel cumbersome and irritating the first time you wear one i think its a good idea to learn with a helmet and continue ride with one than learn without and have to learn to wear a helmet later. that being said i do think that people who don't wear helmets tend to be more aware and careful when doing stunts for the first time as they know if the fall they know they are much more likely to sustain head injury than someone who wears a helmet.
hey adam, i just want to say how a good youtuber u are! you have helped me with bmx from your tutorials, and i hope you stay a bmx rider, LEGEND!!!!!!!!!
Yea he's right the protec ones aren't certified because they are skating helmets. and since every skater rides at their own speed, not nearly as fast as a bmx, you can't. they protect for their sport but not ours
Have the TSG for 5 years and I agree 100% with what has been said. I painted the helmet to satin black, matt black looks very bulky and gloss to shiny.
This is awesome dude! I've always worn helmets because of my parents. I have yet to regret it. I have only had one concusion (I was wearing a helmet) and I believe I would of had way more with out my helmet. I ride a bell helmet which is certified and feels comfortable. Keep Shereding!
I rode a super light until I crashed and got a pretty bad concision, the whole helmet cracked right through. I now ride a tsg evolution that I personally think is better. It's heavier and a bit more chunky but comfy and still looks good, defo worth checking out if you ever change
Liked the video LZ I don't like wearing a helmet cuz of all that stuff , my parents got me a cheapo Walmart one a few years back and it makes me look like an alien lol so I never wear it, but if I'm about to do somthing stupid I might wear it but I hate it and I honestly think that helmet is more of a Hazzard it's so bulky lol , I moved away from cali so people aren't harassing me for not having it anymore but I've gotten in trouble a few times with cops cause of it, they don't like reckless teens like me😂
Hey, maybe I can help out a bit too, the helmet I chose when I started riding as a kid is a no fear one, it's cheap and really popular at my local, but it doesn't work as a helmet, I've fallen on it before and it doesn't do anything, it still hurts. It also comes apart really quickly and doesn't fit your head properly. Hope I helped a few people
What is the 'smallest look' helmet you've found? As in the lowest profile, not lowest fit, but just a helmet that looks less bulky and smaller on the head...The Kali "Viva" sounds like it might be the smaller profile, but not sure, compared to others like TSG Superlight, etc. THANKS!
I think it would be cool if you could do a video like this for grips I have a hard time trying to find good grips and I just can't find the right ones so if you could Adam it would really help.
I would like to know what you think about the POC helmet. I know that POC makes some awesome road and mountain helmets but I'd like to know what everyone and maybe LZ thinks since I do not ride BMX. I know they're quite a bit more expensive but I want to know if they're worth the cost and since I actually work at a bike shop, whether or not I can recommend them. Thanks!
A helmet a day keeps the peppers away
Is that why you never wear helmets?
😀😀
Nicole Frye NO! peppers are love. peppers are life.
Hey Nicole did you like your peppers
How were the helmets Nicole?
Definitely do a video on shoes
Or various bike parts (the ones that wear out: tires, grips, seats, etc.)
Brandon sever I ride etnies and emerica. Best shoes i have ever had
MagfedBear ! I had a pair of etnies too (marana vulc), and they lasted about a month. They were super comfortable but they didn't last long at all. Never tried emerica though, maybe I'll try those next

Brandon sever I ride Kustoms
If you are reading this, have a great day!
No
Yes bro
Glitch Gamerz you to
Thanks Nick
Thanks you too!
any helmet is better than no helmet
THATS WHAT I WAS THINKING!
Except for that Protec one, you might as well not wear a helmet. It´s not going to save you from brain damage, which is the main reason to wear a helmet.
You’re telling me that you are going to spend $800-$1200 for a bmx. And you’re gonna go Mr.Krabs when buying a helmet? Gtfoh.
I had a pro tec helmet and it has a warning inside saying that "This product provides minimal protection against impacts and does not meet any established safety standard". I guess it's good for a starter helmet only not for hardcore riders.

Adam, have you ever considered designing a helmet of your own for your online store?
yeah that would be awesome
POC. The end.
Not everyone has Jay Dalton money :p
I never go the cheap route when it comes to something that can and most likely will save my life at some point.
Your Eveywhere xD
Jay Dalton BMX u took the words right out of my mouth
Jay Dalton BMX nice :)
I like how you progressively made a funnier face showing each helmet
ok so, i ended up in the hospital and was admitted over night and i was thinking about quitting bmx because my parents also wanted me to from past injuries.. but from past videos and this video i was able to buy a helmet i like and am still able to ride so i just wanted to say thank you cause youre my biggest inspiration in bmx, so thanks again haha

Thank you for this video! Shocked at lack of helmet use in BMX world - your video helped convince my son real BMXers wear helmets, too!
I recommend the Pryme 8 helmet honestly. It fits really well and is pretty light. Try that if the one doesn't work out.
The faces you made while "modeling" the helmet were freakin' HYSTERICAL. I am buying through your page just because of the faces.
Hey Adam, happy you like our Superlight. After watching your video, I thought you should look into our Dawn Flex helmet. you should check out an S-One helmet. i really liked mine until my dad got me a kali and i've had the same problems with the pads and ventilation.
Shoes, shoes, definitely shoes! Most people take them for granted and as a fancy accesory with not that much importance but it does. Having you speaking about shoes for doing good bmx would be nice, you can invite Jason, Bert or whatever biker you want.
You are a good role model for BMX. thank you adam
I did not know they even sold non certified helmets! I run a Bell full face. I think if your gonna wear a helmet it may as well save your face / teeth also.
My question is for the first helmet you showed, do you think it would hold up well in the water?
Damn how much u progress, keep on it dude love ur videos been following aong time
Hey Adam can you make a video about grips, tires and pedals?
Hey Adam,
If you're looking for a new helmet to try you should definitely go for the POC Crane (not the cheaper version of it) It's kind of expensive but I don't regret one cent of what I paid for it.
You can adjust it to your head, it looks great, is very lightweight and surely one of the safest freestyle helmets out there.
Thanks for encouraging kids to wear helmets! Not enough BMXers on TH-cam do that.

I have the Fox Transition, really happy with it and i think it looks great!
Good guy AdamLZ!
I'm riding the pryme v2 lite. Just got a second one because I love it!
Hey Adam, when do you think you're going to release that always riding shirt? looks awesome, really wanna get my hands on one
your right about the protec bucky helmet, i have the same exact ones and i tend to face plant a lot, and almost each time i end up getting a concussion which isn't good at all, ill definitely look into buying another helmet. awesome video! I've been riding with an uncertified helmet and after seeing a massive concussion/fractured skull last weekend Im upgrading to a certified helmet today.
My absolute favorite is the Giro Section. He`s very light and strong!
Hey love your vids , and i wanted to ask if you could do a new how to 180 with more tips and stuff
I just got a new helmet and am looking into getting sweat saver. Which ones are they and do they work with the certified protec classic?
The way he spins around is both awesome and down right hilarious lol
Could you review of your pads looking to get some, I'm tired of the peddle pain aha
Good job. Props on helping protect the kids.
I picked up the Triple Eight Brainsaver dual certified helmet and it felt like it sat really high on my head. After I watched this video, I realized I had an uncertified helmet.(The brain savior) I got a certified one and I feel much better. Thanks Adam.
Can you review grips please? Anyway thanks for the advice on helmets and I love the videos.
Hi Adam, do you think they are safer than xc/enduro etc helmets?
could you do a series of: 'finding the best............' eg shoes, frames, hubs etc. thanks.
LZ BMX, are you planning to make your own custom helemets?
Do a video on your opinion of tires. In need of new tires and need some advice. Thanks!
What about the POC Crane? I totally love it.
I wear a relatively new helmet from Giro called the Giro Quarter (certified), best helmet i've ridden, looks great, fits super snug and really fits down and around your head comparing to a pro-tec classic bike which kinda just sits on top. BTW, awesome review!!!
I was never really a fan of bell helmets. I'll have to check the other out!
LZ BMX Alright awesome! Thanks for considering!
LZ BMX Try on Berts helmet. Might not be your size tho. When you get the right size, it's really snug and never stretched(at least for me). Lining can get pretty damaged tho. Plus there's some extra lining you can choose from.
bikejunk sg mark burnett rides the bucky lasek i know him personally
The pro tec independent full cut helmet is meant for skaters (me) is a great helm for bmx and the padding is sweat absorbing, would recon
It's important to note that Pro-tec sells non-certified helmets (as well as certified ones), and it makes a huge difference in safety.
PS Adam, thanks for talking about that :) you've got extremely soldi content!
im buying a new frame and i was wondering which one you would recommend. Thanks
Hey Adam you should do daily videos trust me your videos are amazing I could watch your content all everyday all day. Keep up the good work and I love your car
Adam lz u actually inspired me to bmx so thank u

A good overview of some knee/shin pads would be cool.
went back to some of these older videos and realized that i ride the last helmet to :D
I began riding a BMX now because og your vids LZ!... keep it up :) Good work
Awesome video I couldn't afford a helmet growing up but now I want to put forth an the idea...
defiantly do a review on shoes mine always wear out real quick
All helmets are disposable dosent matter if its $50 or a $1000 there good for a couple of bumps or one good smack after that the structural integrity is compromised the foam is what is protecting you and when its impacted the air pockets pop taking the force and intern the helmet becomes brittle. Great video, very informative as usual. As far as other videos, definitely one on shoes. I can't seem to find a good pair that makes me feel comfortable when I ride. Thanks!
I'd love a grip overview.
I have tried at least 10, and get super bad arm pump all the time.
What's your favourite pair, lock on or slide on?
could you do a bike check sometime soon because I'm lost with what parts and stuff you have on your bike and which bike you ride and stuf haha thanks !

hey adam, i just want to say how a good youtuber u are! you have helped me with bmx from your tutorials, and i hope you stay a bmx rider, LEGEND!!!!!!!!!
So ive got Finals in about an hour, instead of studying im on here watching you:) xD
I'm thinking about like a Bell sanction or some other full face helmets , what is your opinion on full face for bmx??
Adam I did some research, the pro tec helmet is bendy so it absorbs the force, they are made from a material that hardens on impact
They aren't meant for Bmx tho. They're more of a skating helmet
Yea he's right
the protec ones aren't certified because they are skating helmets. and since every skater rides at their own speed, not nearly as fast as a bmx, you can't. they protect for their sport but not ours
I have the Bern Helmet but i don't really like the fitting so i ordered a tsg evolution.
I've broken by face a couple of times should I get a full face??
yeah, get a motocross helmet.
yes full face would do
get a downhill helmet
Patryk Zielinski i wear a full face. its the way to go. but i ride vert and park
Patryk Zielinski get the sanction downhill it's bell but it really works
DUDE! it's OBVIOUS, your head is shrinking. 😁
I like the S1 lifer helmet. It's certified has lots of nice colors and designs.
Have the TSG for 5 years and I agree 100% with what has been said.
I painted the helmet to satin black, matt black looks very bulky and gloss to shiny.
MaitreSpader guess what, next year we bring satin matt colors. :-)
TSG :----------------------D Then I'll buy one !
Do a video reviewing shoes. I prefer vans and I would like to hear your thoughts on different shoes.
Hey Adam ! You have a spot on your head but you can't notice it and keep up the good work!👍😁
I've started wearing helmets after years of not wearing helmets, thanks for opening my eyes!
This is awesome dude! I've always worn helmets because of my parents. I have yet to regret it. I have only had one concusion (I was wearing a helmet) and I believe I would of had way more with out my helmet. I ride a bell helmet which is certified and feels comfortable. Keep Shereding!
Is the Bell Segment a good helmet?
def review shoes!! can never find any that last!
Well. Adam LZ talking about helmets....
I couldn't resist
Needed this, TY Adam
I rode a super light until I crashed and got a pretty bad concision, the whole helmet cracked right through. I now ride a tsg evolution that I personally think is better. It's heavier and a bit more chunky but comfy and still looks good, defo worth checking out if you ever change

Lmao
Hey, maybe I can help out a bit too, the helmet I chose when I started riding as a kid is a no fear one, it's cheap and really popular at my local, but it doesn't work as a helmet, I've fallen on it before and it doesn't do anything, it still hurts. It also comes apart really quickly and doesn't fit your head properly. Hope I helped a few people
Nice video Adam keep it up😄
Take a shot every time he says Bucky lasek classic
COUNTERPARTS YES
THE DISCONNECT IS MY FAB SONG WBU
Take a shot whenever he says helmet
What is the 'smallest look' helmet you've found? As in the lowest profile, not lowest fit, but just a helmet that looks less bulky and smaller on the head...The Kali "Viva" sounds like it might be the smaller profile, but not sure, compared to others like TSG Superlight, etc. THANKS!
TSG superlight is by far the best certified helmet in terms of low profile! We actually sell them on our site now as well :p
Review shoes, i wore the loteks and they didnt last long at all, i messaged you also and you said they were super wierd, shoes would help alot
Looking forward to Webisode 40!
Hey I want to learn a new trick. So which trick is easier to learn? A taboggan or a turndown?
Thx
I think it would be cool if you could do a video like this for grips I have a hard time trying to find good grips and I just can't find the right ones so if you could Adam it would really help.
Review grips! Try to do as many as you can on stuff like this because I just love the videos
Could you do this with sprockets and grips plz
I have a really wide head and 14 years old so as you said my past helmets would look stupid and sit on my head. Got any helmets suggestions??
TSG Superlight is a great helmet!
You should do a shoe and pedal review
I would like to know what you think about the POC helmet. I know that POC makes some awesome road and mountain helmets but I'd like to know what everyone and maybe LZ thinks since I do not ride BMX. I know they're quite a bit more expensive but I want to know if they're worth the cost and since I actually work at a bike shop, whether or not I can recommend them. Thanks!
What certifications does the TSG Superlight has? The TSG website doesn't state it.
a friend of mine who is using profile z coaster makes the hub look really smooth what do you think of the hub adam?
Do this but with tires and grips!
Could you do a video on shoes?
thanks
Kyle
Need help finding out what all I need for my new bike! What frame etc. Help me lz
is there a difference in the new pro tecs, which say they are certified
U really helped me I decided to were a helmet after seeing this and two days later I fell of and u saved me from splitting my head open
