    I found one of these in a pawn shop for $35, good shape complete with lens hood+cap and a set of ND Filters. Just developed the first roll from it last week, I'm impressed with the results from it, super sharp and for such a tiny camera it hits well above it's belt. Great pocket sized street camera.

    Thanks for this review (great tip on the sunny 16 rule). My Dad died 20 years ago and a little while ago was sorting through a box of his old stuff in the garage and came across this little gem..joh oh joy! I would've pooh poohed a camera like this in my brash youth but a different story now. It's become my go to ''put in my pocket'' camera. Small, completely mechanical, small and easy to use and best of all the lens is incredibly sharp. Who needs a Leica?

      That's a gateway camera. Leica is next! :-) Great find, make great art!

    This camera has speed and aperture information inside the viewfinder that you didn’t talk about. Also it has a semi-automatic mode you should have mentioned.

    Love mine - thanks for mentioning the exposure rule...

    Just picked one up for a relatively low price , let's hope it works!

    • @kennethwajda
      @kennethwajda  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should. If the shutter is opening and the aperture is varying based on how you have it set, it's working.

    I just picked one up for $19.99 at a thrift store a few days ago. A good friend of mine had one of these back when we went out taking pictures back around 1980, so I figured I should get it. It is in good functional condition, with somewhat gummy foam light seals, but it will likely be fine. Thanks for the video.

    Hi, I “pressed” the self timer and wanted to try (without a film) how it works and when I push the button (to take a photo) it’s not working. And I also pushed the rewind knob on accident and now it’s not working anymore help!

    • @kennethwajda
      @kennethwajda  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure. I don't mess with Self Timers unless I'm going to use them if the case that they hang up. Keep playing with it. You can't hurt it. The rewind knob will return when you wind it.

    Did you end up having to replace the light seals in your camera back? My hinge seal and the bigger block farthest to the right of the inside of the door are in great condition but the ones along the inner groove on the inside of the camera are not that great seeing that they are worn down looking. What's your take one light leaks and how well this camera traps life? I haven't shot with mine yet. I can send photos if you would like to take a look.

    It's a nice little rangefinder camera. I got myself one from eBay for 15 euros. The lightmeter turned out to be broken,
    so I've been shooting manually using the sunny 16 rule, as you mentioned. About to get the film developed tomorrow
    (finger crossed, wondering how bad am i in guessing the exposure ^_^ )

      Think positive. Film has a lot of latitude. I bet you'll be fine. Send us some links! :-)

    • @bwc1976

      @@TheWaterboarders It's been great! The meter is broken, but I mainly use HP5 film which is very forgiving of my guesses.

    Just found one for 25 euros. If I were you I would let the filter to protect the lens. It's better to clean the filter than the lens! And if the filter is good, you won't see a difference in your pictures. I would also take great care of it. Even if it's still possible to find one for cheap (I was lucky...), there are getting more and more expansive on Ebay...
