I spent one semester at CCAD. The culture was great, the work was fun but challenging, the instructors had rich knowledge and were accomplished. If you can manage to afford it and have a strong work ethic I would say it’s worth considering for the networking potential alone. I also learned art school is super expensive - had to drop out. It isn’t for everyone and it isn’t needed if you don’t mind working other jobs while you build up a strong freelance portfolio. Since my one semester, I’ve learned that networking really is most of the battle to earn good positions and work on fun projects. You will meet a lot of cool, talented, and kind people as you flop around on your journey. Audrey, I have always been inspired by your character, talent, and drive. Love seeing you create and share your knowledge!
Thank you SO much for sharing your side as a fellow CCAD-goer Josh - All so true. It felt like you were there longer than a semester with the impact you gave on the animation department! Thanks a million for the kind words, hope you're doing great!
1000% agree on everything!!! I learned about industry standards and position types through my co-op internship junior year. That experience helped me go into senior year more career-focused and made the transition out of college easier because I knew what to expect. There really should be a junior or senior class about career preparedness, learning the types of industries within design, and what to expect after college. Love your videos, Audrey!! Hope you're doing well! 🤍
Enjoyed the video, Audrey. I'm currently a 3rd-year student at uni in Kenya, and your advice comes in clutch considering I'm about to head out into the pro world. Keep up the good work.👏
