      Agreed! Definitely one of the best videos out there. Very clear, fast, no annoying stupid background music, everything explained well, and quality workmanship shows about keeping parts clean/aligned and whatnot. You're welcome to come up to the Rusty Belt and work on my car anytime😅. And you wouldn't need to worry about the dust guards (those rusted away years ago).

    Great job! I like the idea of the silicone paste as a lube. I used anti-seize to lube the bearing and would look like the Tin Man afterwards. I was wondering how you were going to address the hub with the inner race still stuck in place situation but I see you installed a new hub. I used to do mobile service for SAABs. They had the press in wheel bearings. I always used my 20 ton hydraulic press at the shop. I used a bearing splitter to remove the inner race from the hub. I'd either have the customer come to the shop or would remove the knuckle assembly in the field and bring that back to the shop. That bearing kit makes it easy to do in the field. I used to bring a small twin tank air compressor to power my impact gun. This was before there were cordless impacts.

    Thank you for this video. It is one of the best videos in step by step description and camera angles I have ever seen. May I ask you a question. I have a 2007 Toyota Rav4. One of the hub bolts of the front right wheel broke off. Could it be replaced without removing the hub. I am a 77 yr old just a DIY person, not a professional mechanic. Thank you

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive

      @@tellsthetruth894 Yes, it can be replaced on it's own. The wheel studs are pressed in and can easily be removed with a hammer. I don't have a video but there are a lot of videos that show you how to replace a wheel stud. Hope that helps. If you have any more questions feel free to ask 🙂

    You're a fast worker, but its easier to remove the axle nut with the wheel on the ground and torque it back. Also why not use the slide hammer with tie rod still mantled ?

  • @zyggi56

    why you don't take last screw to have a knuckle out out on the table? You could have a much more room to access the bearing.

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive

      You're right you can unbolt the ball joint and take the knuckle out completely. That will give you some more room to work with 👍

    what can i used instead of a puller?

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive

      @@kayleebrown1667 These are pressed in so you need something that can press the old one out and new one in. What I've done in the past was remove the knuckle from the car and take it to a shop for them to do the pressing then install the knuckle back on the car with the new bearing in it.

    Do I have to replace the hub if I’m replacing the bearing?

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive

      @@gory2817 Not necessarily but you will need to separate the inner bearing race from the old hub. I like getting a new hub because it's easier.

    PIA - why couldn't Asian cars use all in one hub and bearings like my Chevy and fords... so easy to change - also I would think you'd need an alignment after, since you are screwing with the tie rod end and removing the lower strut mount? - so might as well do both sides with a decent bearing, and have it aligned... BTW Im assuming my 2003 is the same as the 06?

    • @ValleyMobileAutomotive

      @@Mediaman67 I agree, I like doing bearings in pairs. And an alignment is a good idea after replacement because there are differences in machining and it can throw your alignment off. 02' to 06' should all be the same 👍

    • @Mediaman67

      @@ValleyMobileAutomotive I like your video because it shows that you do not have to take the whole thing off via removing the lower ball joint (3 nuts) - I don't have a shop press handy :-) - do you have a link for the bearing puller tool set? - yeah I'll just do both and be done for another 200k :-)
