    it's amazing how easy an airbus is to startup. compared to a boeing.

    • @smeshsmesh9695
      @smeshsmesh9695 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I like to think of it like windows being boeing and airbus being apple, with the apple you just press some buttons and everything happens in the background, with the boeing/windows you have a lot more input into the system

    Some notes:
    Its recommended to take off with packs off
    And also must put tcas on TA/RA mode
    .
    Best sign for being in center of runway is to put the center line berween your PFD/ND
    -
    When you are following a SID on nav mode its better to engage AutoPilot after 100 ft
    -
    Also you must retract flaps after thrust reduction and acceleration of the aircraft
    -
    Its better to perform a manage decend for approaches to meet the constraints by autmation and nicer approach instead of open descent
    -
    And Also regarding the fuel saving and passenger comfort its better to perform deceleration approach
    -
    Its important to engage approach mode it angle less than 90 degree to runway to avoid false indications
    -
    Its better to start configrate aircraft after passing 2500 ft

    • @TheSalitoo
      @TheSalitoo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maciek Skórnik it is an approach technique that meant descent with thrust idle from top of descent until 1000 feet

    FYI: With better pushback you can initially just "Start Pushback". It will first send you automatically to the "pre-plan pushback" screen and as soon as you are done pre-planning it will send the tow truck. That way you don't have to use the mouse and navigate through the menu twice.

    Thank you for this great tutorial! A few days ago decided to take the $ 89,00 dollar plunge for this plane to enjoy the most of a thoroughly replicated flightmodel and systems. And € 99,00 to upgrade my memory from 8 Gig to 24 Gig because it just ran out of memory and crashed X-plane ;-). But what a delight to fly this plane. And I don’t regret it a single bit! What a delight to fly this plane.

    Good tutorial, but on a takeoff, you should follow flight directors and do not retract flaps until you reach an acceleration altitude. So, you should keep ~V2+20KT with pitch. Pitch from 15 to 20 is common there, even more than 20 with low weight and TOGA.

    the big thing missing in the x-plane environment is really the surrounding traffic you need to look after all the time, all the atc voice fludd, drunken passengers in the cabin and living animals in cargo, the meal ordering while f/a sits on your knee.

    I think you got VNAV wrong. While I'm not sure about the comparison between the two aircraft systems, I think it would be more accurate to call the Altitude select + Vertical Speed select buttons (or knobs) the VNAV button, beeing the dashed line on the V/S indicator and the round dot next to the Altitude select button the indications that VNAV is active.
    Now, I don't have a Boing or Airbus type rating, but if the buttons on the Boing do the same as the theory teaches us (I'm studying for my ATPL) LNAV is your point to point path (no altitudes) and VNAV is your vertical path. VNAV is especially handy for your TOD calculations. If selected the FMC will calculate a TOD that will give you a vertical path where (in perfect conditions) you can descent on idle thrust until either you select the first stage of flaps or select gear down, depends on the FMC, plane, etc. VNAV also will help you comply with any altitude restrictions on the SID, STAR, and approach. This is why I think that the Altitude select + V/S select buttons (or knobs) are a more accurate comparison to the VNAV button on the Boing.
    And if you interested in this topic, VNAV and LNAV form part of RNAV, beeing that LNAV gives us 2D RNAV, and LNAV + VNAV gives us 3D RNAV, which is needed for some SIDS or STARS :).

    Very nice video! I always enjoy your videos. But you made a little mistake: LNAV from a Boeing aircraft is comparable to NAV on an Airbus aircraft. As well as VNAV is comparable to DES, also called managed descent.

    Nerd comment: when switching on the ADIRU with the OFF->NAV->ATT switch, the IR switch (above the rotary switch) shows ALIGN in white. In the real aircraft this is not the case, instead this switch only has a OFF (in white) and FAULT (in amber) indication. The ALIGN indication was removed when the new ADIRS panels were rolled out to the A320, this A320 has this new panel.

    Good for people who can already fly airliners. Most acronyms I didn't know. Many buttons I've never heard of. I guess if I just pressed the same buttons that you pressed, I'd end up flying the aircraft but no way would I know what I'm doing or why. I'd also only be able to do it between the airports that you flew. Pretty typical of most youtuber clips. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate the effort but I just wish someone would help bridge the gap from GA flying to airliner flying. As in, "this is an APU and that stands for ..... and it does ..... "; "now we don't need to adjust the throttle because ....."; "speed breaks are....."; "the MCP is ......."; etc... You get the idea I hope.

      This plane for me is very CPU intensive. Like 100% always maxed out on 4790k with usually only like 15% of GPU being used on a GTX1080. I have 32GB of DDR1600. Biggest thing I found that really helped my fps to bring it up from 15-20 to 40-60 was disable rain in the EFB and disable reflections. The reflections made a big difference. Hope this helps.

    How do you find out the Flex Temp?

    • @cessnadreams8258
      @cessnadreams8258 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Flex temp is a technique used to reduce noise and engine wear in large airliners by performing take-off at less than full power.
      The runway length required for an aircraft to take off is calculated for each flight. Depending on the aircraft weight, the air temperature and the wind speed, this length may be shorter than the available runway length. The crew can then calculate a lower-power engine setting where take-off will use a larger portion of the runway. Lower power settings reduce noise, engine wear, and maintenance costs.
      This technique is based on air temperature, rather than percentage of engine power, because it is easy for the crew to look up or calculate the highest air temperature at which any particular take-off can be performed. That temperature is the highest flex temp that can be used.[citation needed]
      Jet engines produce reduced thrust as the ambient air temperature increases. The flex temp is the highest air temperature at which the engines would produce the required thrust. The crew finds that temperature and enters it into the flight management system (FMS) - effectively telling the computer to assume the specified air temperature instead of the actual temperature. When flex (FLX) thrust is selected during take off, the engine controller produces maximum thrust for the assumed (flex) temperature. If necessary, the crew can push the throttles into the Take Off/Go Around (TOGA) detent and request full power. (Wiki)

    Thank you so much for this! Great video. I’m getting this beautiful plane soon. I also have a question, do you like the FF 777? Thanks in advance, and once again, fantastic video. Very explanatory.

    I wonder why in simulated flight flaps are going up so fast. In real life, you fly sometimes more than 2 or 3 minutes before that step. And often more on long haul flights.

    Also at San Diego pilots use the whole threshold as the runway is short

    • @Q8Pilot
      @Q8Pilot  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That will depend on how heavy the aircraft is at takeoff. For this flight, we were flying pretty light hence no need for that.

    Once again a top video production from you Osamah, if you ever want to have a change from flying in the USA what about a flight from Auckland in NZ to Queenstown NZ in the A320-A319 I've done this trip in real life and the Queenstown arrival is very challenging and I have attempted this route many times but never managed to get the Queenstown end finished correct so to would be good to see how the master would do this in the Airbus
