Also, for those that don't have a numpad you can set each preset view "slot" to a different key on your keyboard. I personally just set each one to Shift+*Number*

Evan Weiler , I tried to save each view by holding control and one of numbers on pad, but that doesn't save anything to that number on the pad. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks

Hey Cat, I believe I'm able to do the exact same thing (without mod-ing a config file) by hitting Shift-6, setting up the view, then hitting the CTRL+NumPad button. I only learned this though by watching your video and experimenting. The video is much appreciated, thanks!

Great video, thanks. I loved the original views on 5 and 2. I only have one small problem. I setup two external views for Cessna but as I'm turning the plane the external views also rotate thus spoiling the angle of the original view I did setup. Is there a way to handle this?
Hello and thank you! Is there any way to map a view to a different monitor (without a plugin) so I could push the various cockpit control views to a fourth monitor?
Hey, one extra tip I just discovered: if you have TrackIR, you can use it to "lean" out of the cockpit and, while outside the cockpit, shut off head tracking. Then you can position the camera for Ty's patented wing views without having to hack the config file.

Thanks for the good info you have done.I have a question tho ,when you are taxiing loutside view looking from the tail forward as the plane is taxing, BUT when you turn The camera does not follow the tail, how make it follow the tail when I do the turns left and right ? Like we did in FSX or P3dv4 or 5 ?

Thanks for everything Ty I was always wondering how you got all those nice views of the plane. Also is it when you set the view say ctrl+4 for pilot's view, do you just type the key command ctrl+4 or just 4? I'm wondering this because I have speed brakes set for 4
you press control + number to set them and just the number to use them. I recommend to use the numpad for this if you have one.

Hi, I'm a Sim pilot also, and I found out that you can open the cockpit door, and scroll or use the mouse and arrow keys to get back in the passenger area, and I was able to get by the wings and look out the window and see the Flaps in action!. Check it out, but it takes a while for the camera to get there. unless you do the speed hotkey trick, but I forgot which key it was. lol. Good luck. Terry

Yeah, one of the cameras is a proper chase camera, I just don't remember which.

Awesome, I have multiply monitors, with home cockpit, I always wanted set the middle monitor to view Hood with propeller only, and side monitors to wing view only. This video showed me how to hack the views in "X" and "Y" and "Z" access in word pad, thanks very much and regards.

X-Camera would be easier, but the point was to show it using the stock camera system.

I have seitek yolk and X plane which automatically set the hat on the LH of the yolk to pan around inside and out, along with full stop and comma to pan in and out
Hey catstrator I am wondering if I were to update my Zibo and I want to keep my same camera configuration could I extract this folder and copy it into my newer version? This folder being the prefs folder?
yeah, copy the prefs file in the root folder and it'll keey everything.
How do you set the view to view " Hood and Prop" only. I have moltipy monitors and homemade Cockpit, I like to set the middle view to "Hood and prop" only and use my own cockpit
You can either move the camera out there, or turn on the view mode that is forward facing with no elements. I don't know if there is a way to get hood and proper only, though.

You can open the cabin door and move throughout the cabin in the 737, as well as open all of the external doors and emergency exits.

I followed and did everything but the views didn't work for me. I press the shift keys with the individual numbers but it didn't work. I also don't know how to pan inside the interior (passenger seating) of the airplane. Is there a plugin for that?

After setting the num key for the camera view how do you then assign a yoke button to show the number key same view? Thanks.
Locate that binding in the menu and set it to the appropriate camera position. There's a link to my key bindings in the description of the video, one of them includes binding a camera position (I think position 4)

Thanks Clay! You will need to do this for each plane you load up as the configuration is stored on a per-plane basis in their respective aircraft folder.

Catstrator....regarding the "x", "y" and "z" axis this might help. These are coordinates in three dimensions with "x" being horizontal, "y" being vertical and "z" being "up and down". Draw a straight line across a sheet of paper (laying on a table) from left to right. Next, draw another straight line down the sheet of paper from top to bottom with the two lines intersecting in the middle. The left to right line is the "x" axis with anything on the left side of the"y" axis line being ....-x....and anything on the right side of the of the "y" axis line being....+x or simply.....x. Same thing for the top to bottom line. Above the "x" axis line is "+y" or simply "y" and anything below the "x" axis line is....."-y". Where the two lines intersect is your "0,0" coordinate. Now imagine the paper laying on a table with a line going through the "0,0" coordinate from above the table to below. That's the "z" axis which is the height above or below the flat plane or table on which the paper is laying. Where all three lines intersect is called the "0,0,0" coordinate. Anything above the plane of the table is a "+z" or just "z" and anything below the plane of the table is called "-z". Now, any point in the entire system can be defined by location. All that's left to do is to decide on the units of measure.....i.e......inches, centimeters, feet,yards, miles, kilometers etc. Hope this helps. Great job on the video!!

Make sure they're actually bound properly.

For the default view in the Boeing that you used (default 737) it is very zoomed in for me. I already tried to zoom out with the - and shift key but it does not work, any solutions?
In graphics settings, there is a option called FOV or field of view increase the slider for a larger FOV

I do exactly that, I press "ctrl" button and a number on the numberpad, and then I go back to default view and then I press my wanted view but it doesn't do anything. did u set a setting before making this video?
Nope, I used a default setup for this one. Make sure numlock is on.
Instead of the glitch to ger through the door you can always open the door since the door does open and close on the base model 737-800 in xplane 11
At the time of recording this was not the case.

In p3D V4, when you put the camera in tracking mode and the plane makes a turn, what moves is the plane not the horizon, in X Plane 11, when the plane makes a turn, what really moves is the horizon , not the plane, is it correct? Greetings.
I'm not really sure. Check out the different exterior cameras. Some of them follow the plane and others follow the horizon

Hey Cat, I have a real dilemma, I want to get a fast small private jet / regional jet aircraft. I have looked at a few options, I am looking for an aircraft that is good on FPS super fun to fly, and has a good modelled exterior and interior. These are some of the airplanes I am considering, and I was wondering which one you like the best and recommend. Eclipse 550, Jrollan CRJ 200, Hawker 4000, or the E50p PHENOM, I have no idea which on to choose from and I just need some recommendation.

The Eclipse is my personal recommendation. Have not flown the hawker or the Phenom. CRJ200 is a bit dated at this point and is in need of an update (but it is an incredibly fun one to fly). Note that the Eclipse isn't terribly fast; cruises about 100kts true slower than comparable jets.

How do you do That?
OK so on your Windows keyboard on the far right you should have a number keypad. Now on this keypad in the top left corner there is a key that says 'NUM LOCK'. Press this key and num lock will come on. press it againg and it will turn off.

Great Video but i want go know how to set up overlay camera so that when i take off i can see the cockpit view as well as i can see wing view at the same time.
You can't do that in x-plane using a single instance of the sim, sadly.
