This is the closest thing to good vs evil that I've seen in my lifetime. I went to Ukraine in 2015 to study the events and eventually made life and family there (we live in the US now). I couldn't imagine much I would come to admire Ukraine. I'll continue to send tactical and medical gear to military units. You don't have to have money, or status to help.. Only willpower.

In Iraq and Afghanistan, America and it's closest Allies fought to bring democracy and the rule of the law to people who do not want it. While inspired by good intentions, this is inherently a futile effort.
By volunteering in Ukraine, soldiers who have served in those fights have an opportunity to fight to protect democracy and the rule of law for a people who understand its value and are desperate to preserve it. This is vindication - putting all of the horrible things they have endured, all of the skills and experience they have gained to what is clearly a justified purpose. These men are an inspiration to everyone who lives in a modern democracy.

Russia has only sent part of it's standing army to Ukraine & most of the ground fighting, so far, has been done by the Don Bas Militia & Chechens with Russian support. Ukraine has been beaten with terrible casualties. Russia is not Nazi. Before 2022 Ukraine only got into the news because of it's Neo-Nazi & Far Right organisations, which are in the military & government. You don't seem to understand what is happening.

Such stirring speeches that reverberates across the world, still find relevance to this US Army veteran in Afghanistan war serving in Ukraine. He did the right, the Russia-Ukraine War of 2022 became a sort of battle for democracy.

@@aerisskyler Actually, the Ukrainian Foreign Legion is very strict about weeding out adrenaline addicts and murder tourists. The foreign fighters who they accept are already well trained, experienced, and dedicated _soldiers_ who are not mercenaries but volunteers. Yes they are paid, but they are paid the same as Ukrainian solders and fall under Ukrainian command. Realistically it makes more sense to accept already trained foreign _soldiers_ than to try to quickly train Ukrainian civilians for war. They still need those Ukrainian civilian volunteers to train, but this veteran Foreign Legion helps fill the gap.
