What l learned moving from 125B into 125A back in the late 70's is its either a WFO throttle or its off & braking like a mf'er , be strong & fit to be able to throw it around . I raced a 77 , 79 , 82 RM125 . Loved that era of Suzuki's , nice video thank's , brought back these memories of my teen's - early 20's .
after 10 years or winning Suzuki pulled out of mx racing, thats why the cr125 started winning, suzuki had won everything and pulled out of world MX titles race bike development @@Duppavich
Ace- Did my first race on one of these. Well ahot period vid with plenty of style! Only found this just today, make my grin big. Van Halen in the background too. I still got the hair - except its white now. 👍👍👍
Best dirt bike I ever owned. I did have an issue with the radiator leaking antifreeze once, but for the most part it was very fast and very reliable. Then for personal reasons I sold it, almost gave it away in 1985.
know the feeling i almost gave away had raced a rm125s 1975 low pipe, as i moved up to a 77 rm250b, no one wanted a rm125s, back then i almost gave it away too, now its worth a small fortune, WTF
My mate next door had one of these when l was racing a KX80. They were a great bike.. The only bad thing was washing the 2 air filters that they ran. Not that much to put up with to have the best 125 of that era.
I had the '82 YZ125 and overall the motor was easily faster than the RM but the RM had low and mid range the YZ was all top end. Not to mention the RM handled light years better with the low center of gravity and the killer full floater while the YZ was top heavy and had the old kicker mono still.
Believe me, the 83 RM125 had poor power low down. Try and get a copy of Dirt Bike magazine's test on it. I loved mine, as Dirt Bike magazine said; "rev it till it melts"
Ha I had an 1983 RM125 lol it was a good bike ! However my 1988 YZ125 was the shit ! it had no bottom end but a extremely hard hitting top end power! should have kept my classic bikes lol

Really brings back memories. Back in the day I had an 82 RM125. Great bike. Really liked the rear suspension.
Rock on! Love the sound of a 125 when it's singing.
On the pipe is music to my ears
There was nothing better than 2strokes in the 80s and Van Halen

Hell yeah
The good old day's, late 70's eary 80s rocked at the mx track! Always some hard rock in the pits.
Yeh Jr" i was in the team Husqvarna pit team at Hawkstone Park around then with Willie Simpson & Perry leask, great days, 390. 430, then,
and they all smoked camels and what the heck was a 4-stroke?
The original Full Floater suspension was beast.
and stolen from the original inventor
The single most dominant 125 motocross bike of all time.
air or liquid cooled?
@@markgaudreau8053 that was the first generation liquid cooled RM135 from 1981-1983

Until the 86 CR125 came along at least

My best times racing was on this little rocket. Had 81-84 then moved up to 250cc.
Shame I didn’t keep them all.
Cool ol skool style on the gas video.👍🏻👍🏻⬆️
Nice old footage.
Phenomenal command of machine also if you’re putting music in a marriage with a 2 stroke it should be Van Halen bravo
Mooi filmpje Will !!
80s Moto! WFO baby.

Had one back in the day after a 79' 125N, now have a 83' KX125B2 project.
