Sure. If you consider some guy who sandbags to get a better start position in a race. Guess you don't set your standards too high.

Ward knows his stuff. Putting the pants on, just listening to the sound, calls it "a little rich". And he looks good on the bike. A good vintage is beautiful.

I remember Jeff Ward in a publication called the Weekly Reader back in 72' . He was racing a Honda XR 75 at the time . I was riding Honda Mini Trails and was working 2 paper routes saving for a bigger bike . Jeff inspired me to race motocross and I did a few years later . I worked my butt off and got a brand new Suzuki RM 250 . Thanks Jeff those were the best years of my single life . PK

What flashbacks from that gear! He was the little kid riding a minibike wheelie in "On Any Sunday"!!! My inspiration. My first few Washougal Nattys were when they ran 125's and 500's. Seeing Wardy on his KX500 kicking one-footers off the first jump at the bottom of Horsepower Hill, Dogger came blitzing through those huge 90's finish line "whoops" on his KX500's rear tire! The ground shook! Privateer Guy Cooper still shredding and showing off on his RM125 after busting his perch, those moments are unforgettable. My first year there was Hannah's last.

Awesome job putting this production together ! Beautiful bike and the great Jeff Ward giving his input and showing his unbelievable skills. Wardy was my favorite pro back then, as I rode a Kawasaki in the New England Connecticut area. I love looking at old vhs videos and old pictures of my 1979 KX250, 1984 KX500 and 1985 KX500 MX bikes.
I have pictures of my KX 500 bikes brand new rolling out of Midtown Kawasaki in Rocky Hill Connecticut and the Cromwell sand pits. I stopped riding MX in 1987 and came back in 1999. I’m sure you all had your MX breaks for careers and injuries as did.
I jumped ship from Kawasaki to the McGrath inspired Yamaha YZ250 and eventually made the switch to the thumpers on a Honda CRF 450R. I now ride a Suzuki on the street and stopped riding MX. I’ll never forget Wardy and those KX bikes, I lived for that stuff in the 80’s. That stuff forged me into the person I’ve become and made me one tough and determined individual. Thank you for putting that on TH-cam.

My family opened a Kawasaki franchise in 1985 in Oregon and Jeff Ward was who I wanted to be from then on!!!! You know its only cuz my first race bike was an 81 Elsinore 80 but by the time I started racing down at Bonneville race way in ? Duh? I was bummed when I realized my bad ass bike is a lame bike it seemed, only by the looks mind you with my metal tank two rear shocks, that made me really want to get an up to speed (date) bike so summer of 86' was when the old man one day stoked me out at the shop with a new bike, this only a year out of date, but I believe there seemed to me until today seeing wardy here on this hard ass looking bike that I now realize how lame I was pissing and moaning,(only in my head mind you)for any length of time over "airquotes! How it looks!???? So yeah thanks dad so trick in much for showing me how to truly live I just wished for 50 years now that you could have actually taught us how to live, but stilled like always I love you mostest and your stilled and will always be the favorite!!!!!one of " MyThreeDads

I watched Wardy race at the 2005 World Minis, there were a couple ex stars mixed in. He was so fast then and still is. So cool! I live these types of videos.

Awesome to see WARD on his '84. Some kids had Farrah's poster on the wall 👍but raced an '84 KX80, so Wardy was my hero back in the 80's. Great to see Dewhurst out there too. Long time friend shooting on 4 wheels...

@@mixerguru Agree! Heather Thomas was smokin'. I would have to go with Heather Locklear back in '84 I think looking back, I was a bit young for Farrah. Best part was I got to bag HL order every so often in '86 helping her out to her black 911 at the supermarket in Valencia! Amazing!!

In 84 I was in my second year of motocross racing still at Bonneville Raceway on Friday nights, but I would start racing outdoors in Utah at places like green river, moab, lehi (south of lehi, and a track kinda near Farmington Utah, still on my 81' CD 80 Elsinore until Easter vacation, 6th gr when I was coerced into moving back to orange County with my mom and new dad that had nothing to do with bikes or skiing?:(!! I later learned my dad had a brand new 84 yz80 waiting for me but sold it and I never had my own bike again until a month after my30th bd
