I played this with temporal stuff and enemies turned off and keeping the inventory on death and the game is still a pretty good challenge just keeping yourself alive and progressing against the nature challenges let alone with enemies constantly harassing and ambushing. Night time is kind of freaky even without enemies. Soooo dark... The sink holes in this game are real. You will literally fall to the center of the earth. Even during the day you can be running and a hole to hell will be behind the bush you just ran through.
7:30 I collect…I sift…I do this for so long I make a a copper pick, hammer, prospecting pick, and even use the silver and gold from bony soil to make a black bronze pick. My life is long and boring, and sifting is my friend.
one experience i remember vividly was when i was playing with a friend for the first time, we saw a message that a temporal storm was coming tonight, we both didnt quite know what it was and started panicking, since we werent at our house. after sprinting and breaking many ankles in our flee home, we eventually arrived and started preparing (spoiler, we didnt prepare enough). the storm finally arrived but we werent in the same building and were seperated, we found out that night that having a roof is quite crucial to preventing stuff teleporting indoors and wiping the floor with your ass.
My first server was before steel, just a few weeks before iron blooms/helves were introduced, and bloomeries actually DID spit out iron ingots. I mined several iron veins entirely, bloomed it all, and made an entire wall of my base (the forge section) out of ~1500 iron ingots stacked on top of each other just as a flex. It was amazing. Sadly, meteoric iron still gave ordinary iron instead of meteoric. But it was quite fun.

Fun review. Your description of first encounter with locusts was on point. Entering caves without many torches and ladders can become your worst experience but also one of the best if you play with friends and don't ragequit right away. :D
after watching 3 minutes of this vid, I'm convinced to try it out. This vid sold me on a comfy experience about conquering an untamed land, the dev's trailer sold me a minecraft clone.

And they did more than anyone could have asked of them. It really looks like it could be a replacement for minecraft altogether.
After playing this it is difficult for me to return to Minecraft, honestly I needed something this functional and stable in my life (regarding gameplay and modding)
