Performances from the legendary Tokyo dome concert weren't always in high quality
I found a full concert with excellent sound and visual quality so I edited each song out and decided to put this on youtube!
Keep in mind that the FULL HD we see today was not even invented in 1996 so don't expect too much.

I would usually hate anyone covering the SOS Band but Mariah does this justice

She was so vulnerable and powerful at the same time... Living a hard life at that young age but with a gift from god that made her able to lidering a full stadim

It’s refreshing to see such a beautiful woman with such an incredible and dynamic voice a) not go out with next to no clothes on (the 90’s were badass - the bear midriff and baggy jeans with actual shoes), and b) not oversing the damn song with umpteen over the top vocal runs. It was called The S.O.S. Band, as in BAND. Back when BANDS made music. Today all anyone gives a care to is the vocalist and it’s just a joke. You could have Beyoncé or Ariana Grande come up to do this and it wouldn’t highlight the band because they’d be stomping all over it. Mariah can out sing both of them put together times ten, but she had the class and grace and good taste to let the song stand out. I’m not exactly thrilled with what became of Mariah, but in that time, she was at a level musically that I honestly don’t think has been matched since.

1996 flashbacks. Mariah fandom in full bloom on my end at that time. I am in Europe, can’t go see her on tour, find another fan from Europe, he sends me a pirate audio tape of that concert in Tokyo.

Wow! I never knew she covered this song, and she did an awesome job. Any musician will tell you when it comes to covers, You have to do 1 of 3 things. You have to make it your own. Play it exactly like the original or better. And she made this timeless classic her own. Great job.

I always thought this cool song was interesting. On one hand, it sounds like the woman is desperate and willing to put up with anything just to be with the guy, but...she sounds so determined and the way it's sung like she's in full control and setting the agenda.
