I have damaged vinyl stripes on my challenger and would u recommend heating it up first and then using this eraser tool and what beside water to remove the particles
Great job, very informative! I already bought the wizzy wheel , I didn't want to pay for the 3m it looks like that they are close to same effectiveness.
I just bought one of these wheels to remove the aftermarket decals I had applied to my 2017 Mustang GT so that I can start all over again with a clean slate to create a new exterior look. I am quite sure that you should thoroughly wash and dry your vehicle to remove small grit particles that could cause hazy micro scratches that will ruin your paint.
Yes That’s always a good idea especially with new clear coats. Have you tried using Meguiars Scratch X or similar to see if you can get the micro scratches out? I like Meguairs quick detailed as a lubricant whenever I’m working on newer cars. On the Ranger some water was all it needed.
@@rayregnogarage Oh, no! I made you misunderstand. My paint has not been ruined on my Mustang, as I have not used my erase wheel yet. I was just suggesting that everyone thoroughly wash and dry their cars before use--as I plan to do. I was saying that I'll buy the anti-swirl kit you recommended just in case I have a problem like when I sent my giant 2015 Chevy Silverado 2500HD through an automatic car wash that completely messed up the brand new clear coat on it. Very fortunately, a detailer was able to buff out all the swirls because being brand new--I still had years worth of clear coat left. However, I had to pay $600.00 for the service--ouch!
2:48 My '95 Ranger from Minnesota has that same "weird" 4x4 logos. Only mine are back on the rear quarters where Ford often put the 4x4 and FX4 decals. I think it might have been a factory or at least dealer installed option.
I’m pretty sure Ford didn’t start putting those decals on the trucks til 98. Maybe a previous owner put it on there? Or did you get the truck brand new?
@@rayregnogarage I'm not the first owner, so I'm not sure if the chrome plastic 4x4 badge on my truck was added later. I'm familiar with the larger 4x4 and FX4 decals that came later, and the STX decals from earlier 1st gen trucks. Your truck and mine are the only ones I've seen with that tall slanted 4x4 badge, and it looks funny to see yours next to the Ranger badge. The closest I can find online is a similar badge on eBay listed for a bunch of Dodge/Jeep models. They're all green & crusty now, so like yours, mine are coming off and not getting replaced.
It didn't do any damage to the clear. But I think it might vary from car to car depending on how it was painted. The paint is actually nicer under the spots where I removed the pinstripe. The pinstripe protected the paint underneath from fading over the last 20 years.
@@rayregnogarage Appreciate the quick reply! I just bought a work truck (Great condition) that was covered in decals but he didn't remove all the glue so, I going out tomorrow to buy an eraser and try and remove everything. Then I'll compound and polish it. Did I say this was my 1st time! Lol..Thanks again, appreciate all the info buddy!
@@locknload9143 Good luck! If in doubt wash the truck as well as you can and use some Meguiar's Quik Detailer or at least some soapy water to keep the surface nice and slippery so you don't accidentally scratch stuff.
I wouldn’t use it on a new car. This truck is so dented and scratched I don’t care much. But it did come off pretty clean. Don’t see any scratches but I also didn’t obsess over it.
I’m glad I don’t own an M12. I’d be running pistol drills with it, the way that battery is lmao. Great video! I have a lot of decals to remove so I’ll probably have to buy like 8 of these. How do you think it’ll do around smaller more intricate emblems?
Ya. probably to go with a corded drill if you've got a lot of decals. Lol. Are you wanting to work around those emblems? It might be a little frustrating... the wheel isn't very precise.
@@rayregnogarage Yeah I see now that the wheel looks smaller at the end of the video. I can't decide if I should get this cheaper one or the 3m which "supposedly" last longer (to remove the pin stripes on our CR-V).
Sorry, is this tool useful and able to remove very old lines affected by sunlight, these types are poorly manufactured, and how can I order it, I mean what is the well-known name, and thank you.
After removing the pinstripe was it noticeable where it used to be. Just concerned that the paint underneath would blend in with the rest of the paint as it was not exposed to sunlight

Dude this is incredible, had no idea these existed until today.
I just bought the same eraser from Amazon, but had never seen it used thanks for sharing your video.
Very good video. I appreciated you showing us at the beginning how well the eraser worked.
thanks!!!

Karl Wright We just used the wheel and water to wipe off the dust. Didn’t need to heat it up.
Thanks
Thanks bro, good info. Gonna try it!
just bought one thanks to your review. Thanks, bud!
Awesome! Lemme know how it goes!
Thanks for uploading. Just got a 94 extended cab the same color as yours. Thought about doing this but didn't know what all I would need. Thanks!
Glad you found it helpful!
Great video. Thanks for sharing the process.
Thanks for watching!
Very good video you did a good job and it’s much appreciated.
Thanks!!!
What a nice blue colour

The best vid on a non 3M remover I've come across.

Use WD- 40 as a clean up......works great !

Ya that’s definitely not factory. Most likely a Walmart or O’reilly special
Careful using the wheel, used it to get some double sided tape from a wing off my Toyota Supra & some paint went along with the double sided tape
Thank you

I don’t think so. It’s just for decals

Did you find that the eraser remained intact for the most part (for future use)?
It’s just like a pencil eraser. It wears down as you use it

So was that paint or?
they’re decals. like stickers
Could of turned the truck around so the dust wouldn’t bother you 😂
Wouldn’t matter. The wind changes direction here a lot and it’s not predictable.
Just use paint remover - no buffer

Mine came out fine. But if your truck has been in the sun a lot, it might be noticeable.
Who does my eraser keep coming of the adapter
Weird. Not sure. same one I got?
Literally burned my clear coat on both sides now I have orange marks all over the place… have absolutely no idea how to fix it

did i do something wrong? this tool left scratches on my car
was the car clean?
Stronghold Garage just a little dusty but not very dirty
