I love David Friedman sooooo much. LIttle known secret about being a Friedman customer: Dave responds to your customer service emails personally. Best brand in the business.

This is true, and I have sent him several Emails he always responds, I bought a Deluxe 50 BE and the switch was bad right out of the box, I sent Dave an Email about it, he had a new switch on my front door step in three days, you cant ask for any better service than that, and his amps sound awesome.

Fully agree with this. I've had a couple of queries about my amps over the years, and he has always responded directly. Very impressed with the service - he truly stands by his products. Combine that with the outstanding tones and feel make them an easy sell! These new amps sound great. I've owned the original PT-20, sounds way bigger than it looks.
You guys sold me on the Little Sister. I ended up buying one! It sounds even better than the video in person. Like Danish Pete kept saying "It sounds so good man!"
How's it sound at reasonable volume?

@@brandonanderson2066 It sounds great for home practice. Now, when micing the amp, I will say there's a volume threshold the Little Sister has to reach before it sounds good through the main speakers, but even that volume is reasonable within the scope of a band performing live.
Yup. That was a great tone to wake up to! I also cannot believe the first joke wasn't something like, "Nothing like plugging into a pink taco first thing in the morning!"
These amps cement my theory that distortion sounds better from the amp instead of a pedal.
I often find pedals to be too compressed. The only pedal I've heard that I like at the moment is the Wampler Belle.

I agree the amp Distortion especially this one sounds incredible. The pedals are always enhancement depending on how you use them. I could gladly plug straight in a Dirty Shirley and feel confident
Nothing beats tube distortion, not even modelers to me
When the amp sound is this well sculpted, it sure is better than any pedal..
I own a Smallbox, and it is legitimately one of the best amps I've ever heard. But that Little Sister now has me reconsidering my entire life.

Friedman amps are sooooo good! I've been using a "Runt 50" for two years now. I don't need any pedals anymore. My guitar straight into the amp and I'm in heaven! These amps are not cheap but absolutely worth the money!
I've had my runt for many years now and I just ordered a little sister combo. Friedman makes awesome stuff

Pink Taco is 80s modded Marshall thrash sound all day long! Exactly what I'm looking for. I just bought the limited edition Wildwood version of it with the direct out/cab simulation and clean channel. Should be here in a week or so. Can't wait!
The tone of the day for me, by a country mile was the Little Sister set almost clean at around 24:34 to 24:52 ... I could live with that alone no problem.

These amps are known for three things: great tone, great effects loops, great master volumes
What amazes me is that Dave Friedman and Mike Soldano worked together to create the Synergy amp line, and the Dirty Shirley module and SLO module sound almost identical to the originals, and with real valves. So I can have both amps in one now. Heaven.
The Little Sister just sounds so good.
I have the mini Dirty Shirley and it’s the best amp I’ve ever owned. I will never part with it. Not sure I’d need the new little sister, but I’d be interested in checking out the PT v2 for a different flavour. What I really would like to see is a mini smallbox. I’d throw my money at that!! I have the Pink Taco v2. I've gone through a dual and triple rectifier, mark V, victory kraken, dual terror, and this is by far the best amp for metal I've ever played. Baritone in drop A with bareknuckle silos and it screams. Gain at noon for recording, around 3 for live.
Just nasty piece of work, absolute hell of a beast.
Take my money now!!! I have a mini dirty Shirley and love it. Got to try the Twin Sister combo and have had it on the wish list but the little sister might be perfect for me… Damn you Friedman and Andertons!!

Probably the most excited I’ve seen Pete in any video! That means these must be gooooood!!! Definitely the best sounding rock and roll amp I’ve heard in the last few years! Up there with the Magnatone vid for me 🚀
I got the Runt 20 and I must say, one of the best amp purchases I've made (highly recommended if you want a dedicated clean channel and speaker-emulated XLR out). Still, I'm sure I would be happy with the Little Sister that has more of a modded '60s/'70s vibe. Dave knows amps! Thanks.

I just took delivery of this blind after watching the reviews. After years of buying under a £1k I wanted something special. I tried a milkman 1 watt plus which highly disappointed me. This amp is an amp for life. If you like Marshall tones this does it all but better. Rabeas review of the twin sister shows what this amp can do

As I have a dirty Shirley mini myself, I can tell you it is a hand wired amplifier with large alpha transformers much like the JJ Junior and Jay EL 20 my PT 20 also has similar large output when I looked inside these amps I noticed no hand wiring all PCB board construction One thing I love about my victory sheriff is that the Tube sockets are hand wired there is handwork going on in there and there is some in the little sister but not like before that’s why he lowered the price. Take a look inside the self thanks and thanks for keeping it real great demos and don’t give me wrong. I love Friedman amplifiers victory, and Friedman. I play four nights a week and I play all day every day and I’m 50 years old believe me totally blind and committed to music, but there is no doubt I have perfect pitch and I sure can assure you I know I can hear the difference 30:40 30:48

Yes, modern tube amps with real old school tone. Who needs a modeler, a high gain amp or a channel switch? I am thrilled, the parts sound incredibly musical. As a well-known guitarist said to me a few days ago? "I don't need sound - I need tone." And here it is in its most beautiful British expression! I really enjoyed this video. 👍👍👍

Pink Taco through a Marshall 1936 Vintage 2x12 cab is AC/DC Heaven in the low gain setting, then you still have more gain on tap if you want it! My favorite sound right now!

The tones from these 2 amps was like listening to: The Black Crows first album with Led Zeppelin and AC/DC sprinkled in. Nice.... very nice.

A few years ago I was lucky enough to try a Pink Taco with a PRS Silver Sky and a Fender Custom Shop Stratocaster, and I really felt it might be my perfect single channel amp. This new one sounds f*$*%&^ fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!

Well played gentlemen. A perfect rendition of the merry song our piper played as we entered the 'valley of death' in the Crimean war. Bertie, our Piper, lost his fingers in that escapade and has struggled to get this charming melody down since that day. I've told him you will pick me for the 'give-away' so he can share my win and get some splendid tones if not the whole song. Marvellous!

At 75 and using a Plexi since '71 let me tell you the Little Sister is simply a Dream' Plexi!!! That's the sound. If you think the Taco is your thing then give it a second thought because you can use a pedal to get that kind of a sound but you cannot do the reverse. In a band the "Sister' will sit behind the vocals and not compete and it's no big deal hitting a pedal for a solo. BUT the Taco may have the Sister complaining you are too loud when it's just that the tone is distracting.
Why are Friedman's amps the same roughly the same price in the UK as they are in America if Marshall amps here in the US are much more expensive than in the UK? Why does Marshall have a mark up if Friedman doesn't?
Great question! I think it probably has to do with the huge difference in supply and demand of the two brands relative to company size and location. Marshalls have always been the best selling rock amp in the US, so more of the premium in shipping has to be absorbed by the customer. Friedman is a much smaller shop, so a higher percentage of their overhead is in R&D, QC, and manufacturing, which means their shipping, customs, and excise costs are, percentage-wise, less. Just a guess.
Never been that into Friedman but these amps are wow!

I have the Smallbox and the Twin Sister and the thing about them is that they just sound great wherever you set the knobs. Also they have very controlled bottom end and forward midrange so they always cut through. By contrast, my Boogie Cali Tweed is finicky - it can sound heavenly but sometimes takes lots of tweaking to get there.
So strange I found your comment on the Cali Tweed Mesa. I’m trying to offload the amp for the last couple weeks. It literally has so much bass it’s unusable for me. Even with the bass at 0. It’s a bummer because it really is a beautifully made amp.

Both amps sound like proper rockmachines. I would prefer the LS. Don't exclude a good 1x12 cab when you're used to bigger cabs. I do many gigs with a RV -> closed back, bass ported 1x12 cab. It's sound huge for it's size, so (miked) it can do any size of stage and it doesn't break your back. I sold my 2x12 cab.
Just wanted to buy a first version of Pink Taco, and Friedman releases V2, that is just like the V1, but better. So happy I didn't bought the first one.
V3 is due in December.

Listened to the intro and thought that's a pretty sweet lead Lete is playing. Turns out it's just that Lee has become really good by now. Makes me hopeful that it's not too late to improve. :)
I must have watched this video 5 times over the past 6 months. I've been playing for over 35 years and have never owned a tube amp. One more beverage and I may just "accidentally" buy me that Little Sister.
Goodness Gracious! Best TH-cam tones yet! I thought for sure you would have thrown the Marshall mini head on those cabs and done a comparison, but maybe that would not have been appropriate?
I totally dig these amps. Both of 'em!! I'm mostly a Tele guy, (but I have a Les Paul too, just in case!! lol) Pete on the Les Paul sounded great, but so did Lee, playing the Tele through the Little Sister. Great tones and breakup, even at slightly lower gain settings. Really great. I'm very impressed.

Fantastic tones! I'm a big fan of Steve Stevens tone I see why he uses a Friedman. I can't afford one just waiting for a good ToneX capture to come along. There is a Pink Taco one available but to be honest it doesn't sound like this demo.

At 23:07 Pete has a bona-fide tone induced spaz attack! Lol! These guys are very skilled salesman but that right there is a genuine emotional outburst that the dude can't control. I've wanted some dirty shirley action for years and held back from pulling the trigger but I'm afraid that the little sister coupled with Pete's enthusiastic spaz attack has finally pushed me over the edge.

Went to buy an amazing Squier Classic vibe Tele from Andertons. Well they don’t ship to the states. So I ended up getting a PRS Vela. Which is amazing.

I really feel like Friedman has taken Marshalls crown. They sound like a Marshall on a record, which is usually what people actually want from their Marshall. They're way more usable at different volumes. The only possible point I think you can take away from them is that Marshalls sometimes have more cut in the high end, but Friedman might also just have more control over that and people turn the presence down because it's not particularly pleasant on it's own. I'm not sure on that though. My only experience is with the JEL-100 which is VERY present.

so the best tone comes out of a marshall 100 watt master volume head with the gain set to full and the master set wherever you want.

It's a BRIGHT switch on the Little Sister, Lee!!! Jesus, man, read the instructions or ask Dave or SOMETHING. You're so confused all the time! Anyway, yes, y'all are right. They both sound amazing. I want to add a Saturation and Bright switch to my Dirty Shirley Mini, now. I don't think it's possible to "go wrong" with a Friedman. You're ALWAYS going to get a great sound from a Friedman.

I own a Friedman amp and since I have sold all my overdrive/distortion pedals. Because none of the pedals that I have tried sounds as good as the amp by itself. And I have tried quite a few good pedals.
OK, so no mini combo with a 10 inch speaker. Guess I have to keep my V1 PT-20, because I love the tiny form factor. Also, no mention any more of "hand wired" so suspect these are not quite as 'premium' as the V1. Still very well made, I am sure.
