My neighbor had this. Whoever got Verm had a 99% chance of winning. He was wayyyyy overpowered.
I hope they're able to bring this series back from the dead someday. The gameplay needs a lot of work, but it's such a shame so many of these character designs have been forgotten about and wasted.
Not only the character designs, I personally found the music/melodies it produced to be pretty good as well, especially in BAT1 and BAT3. Definitely a series that deserves to be resurrected.
Well what I meant was, the gameplay would need a lot of work if they were to make a new sequel.
@@Krizalid99v2 Music was indeed superb, but also the entire atmosphere. Toshinden competed with Tekken a lot, although they in fact never tried to copy each other,

My post didn't get posted. What a shame. He was for me the first interesting fighting game character to use guns. Weak kick strong kick into dust took off a lot of health. One of my favourite things to do was jump over the other player, run in the opposite direction and use his heavy dash attack where he'd roll and auto target with his shotgun. Any bullet mows through fireballs so it was hilarious against Master and her? fireball stream. Kriz, you're totally missing out on the post match. Use a fireball or shot just before the win pose. The action will carry on and the restanded opponent will get hit. Super fun because you can cause a win pose ringout. Been a long time since I played but I think you can push start to skip to the win pose to make hilarity ensue. Gaia's big jumping spinning move to ring himself out during the winpose sequence is gold.
Vermillion with those damn bullets.

Man, I wonder if he was an inspiration for Alucard of Hellsing? I totally forgot about Verm!
I'd say a combo of him and Vash the Stampede. I initially thought Vash only, but there's definitely a heavy similarity to Alucard, especially in this particular adaptation.
Edit: Just realized you meant the other way around after checking the years for both Hellsing (1997) and BAT2 (1995). Honesty, it would be amazing if this were the case. Definitely an underrated design for an underrated series of games.
Interesting to note though, Trigun also debuted in 1995.

If they Reboot Toshinden, Verm should have Takehito Koyasu vocing him.
He also gave me Holhorse vibes from Jojo’s part 3 with his pistols.

Sorry if you did a video for this character already, but according to cheats/tips book I've had for years, there is another secret character named Grim, but there seems to be no information about him online, so does he even exist? I can't find out for myself as I don't own the game.
Supposedly, you get him by completing Battle Mode with Vermillion on skill level 8 (no idea if you need to have Uranus, Master and Sho, as the book tells you how to get all the characters in one section.) Once you've done that, press Left, Left, Right, R1, Triangle, L2 and Square - you will apparently hear a bell, if you do it correctly. Grim should be on the "?" like the other secret characters.
My book is specifically for PlayStation games, but like I said, I can't find any other proof that he's even a character (I say "him" because the book calls him "the last secret guy."
