Vermilion is a hidden boss in the game. He is an unlockable playable character.
===== About BAT4 Vermilion =====
It's Vermilion as we know him, the expert firearms user. In BAT4 he wears his classic black 'raven' outfit from BAT2, and gains extra weapons. He is the only character in the game who is lone and not part of a team.
As the game's storyline is set 10 years after the events of Toshinden 3, it is natural that it introduces a virtually completely new cast of characters. Eiji and Vermilion are the only characters to make a return from the previous games. I find it funny that Eiji's hair/eyebrows have completely turned white/greyed out, considering that it has only been 10 years since BAT3 (Eiji was only 23 at the time).

I'm really sad to say that i simply loved this game, was part of my childhood. I've unlocked all costumes and artworks, also there was a some nice bad minigames. I loved that so much. I omly discoveredcnow that people hate this game... but i loved that so much :(

Vermillion is a stubborn guy
The devs really tried to be up there with Tekken and SF EX but they were a bit too ambitious with the angled movement and teams of three.
wait....did vermilion had a (young) version?.....and wtf i didnt knew it was translation for english....i played it on the japanese version when i was a kid and i always thought there is not a translated version
on the other hand, i loved this game cuz i played that much to realize ways to cut frames and make combos super fast cutting animations and counting the hitting box anyways (for my surprice it was looking cool even with the cut animation between actions, like a dbz combo animation), it was fast as hell and u kill so fast with that way....it worked amazing with lancelot....no matter how much spam they do if u get a little close it was a kill in 5 or 8 seconds lmao, i was surpreced that a 3d game on that year can be that dinamic at combos but i think it wasnt intentional from the developers...
its like sould edge but in slowmotion and shitty 3 year released after soul edge too... lol

*KoF* inspired... Using the same dev engine from BAT1, smaller the models to add smoother character frames... Clock locked because of the embarrassing PS1 limitation.

Lets be real here Toshinden 4 Gameplay sucks and is the worst of Toshinden games but Characters and their Moves are very Cool 🙂👍
I think the Toshinden franchise deserves a reboot... imagine the characters in today's standard of graphics.
