Thank you John a great wee video. Love chasing reflections, although it was waterfalls in Glencoe yesterday 😊 lm having trouble downloading the news letter, will keep trying.....Alioban
Thanks! Hope you got some nice shots? I'm hoping to get back to Glencoe in the next week or so. What's the issue with the newsletter? I've not had anyone else report a problem. If the problem persists let me know and I'll email you a copy directly!
Great photographs as always Sir. That Ricoh pocket rocket 🚀 is one amazing camera , but with the greatest respect its no point and shoot , and will wipe the floor with any mobile phone.
Thanks! Aye, i think i really should write a script for some of these videos rather than just bumping my gums without thinking it through on the spot! It is a great camera!
Lovely shots, especially the 'trippy' reflections. I've always said that a good photo is 50% light, 45% composition and only 5% gear, plus being there. I'm going to disagree with you on something though, if you can vary the iso, shutter speed and aperture then its not a 'point and shoot' camera, your only limit was the fixed focal length. You chose to limit the settings - as an experienced photographer you knew these settings would work for the subject and conditions. You weren't having to work that hard 😊 Agree with you regarding modern phones, my digital cameras rarely get an outing these days unless I know I need a specific lens.
Aye i'll agree with that Iain. I also think i described the GRiiix as a "basic" camera which it definitely isnt. Problem with not really scripting the videos in advance i guess!
The composition is key. I don't think that I'd have noticed the difference if you'd used a DSLR. I use a tablet to watch these videos. Maybe my more sufisticated laptop or a print, would show up the quality? 📷👍
@@JohnMcKennaPhotography Thanks, nice tips, what I'm looking for is how to achieve that fantasy, icy white look in the TREES. I've made the DNG profile in Lightroom followed the steps watching videos on TH-cam but i cant achieve what i desire. id really appreciate it if you share your method on how you do the post processing.
I really appreciate how you share the different stages in your post-production edits. I’ve not seen that before. Thank you.
Thanks James!

I don't have my GR III yet, but the possibilities are exciting. Thanks for this..
Thanks! Its a great camera. I have mine with me in Japan right now for the autumn colours and ive been very impressed with how it's performing.
This isxa video after my own heart and how I envision composition...love it! 📷✨️💚🧡💛🤎
thank you!
Just shows doesn’t matter what camera you have it’s the ability to see an image really enjoy watching your videos and discussion on composition.
Thanks Malcolm!
This was nice, John! Really interesting location for some lowkey landscapes!👌
Thanks Hugo! It's a great location!
@@JohnMcKennaPhotography yup👌
Can't believe it...I was photographing tree's reflections in the union canal at Ratho on Friday 🙂
Hope you got some great shots Brian!
