Lisbon have these warm colors because of the topography of its hills, that create a dramatic contrast of light, and reflects warm tones all around. Being a Lisbon born and raised, I recently have been losing my love and emotion for my city given the recent massive and destructive tourism that have changed so much of the city. Much of its unique beauty it is lost. Still, I enjoyed a lot “walking with” your camera by the familiar streets and to (re)learn how to notice the beauty of this city again. Thank you for this portrait.
There's a freshness and originality to your compositions that I love. I really noticed it when you were trying to photograph the wall in a new way and used the reflections on the car hood. That was so cool.
Having just come back from Lisbon I loved this POV and "re-seeing" the city through your eyes and camera. Well done Faizal! I agree that there's plenty of texture in the city, the architecture is so ornate and it's very different than most American cities
Great video, I go to Lison 3-4 times a year I stay at the Lisbon Old Town Guest House. Next time you go it's an awesome place to stay I would highly recommend it. At the start of your video where the Tram comes around the corner that's where the guest house is in that little square. And where you can see that bridge in the background leads to Pink Street go and get some food at Rio Grande Lisboa it's great.
Hi Faizal, its so nice to see my home town being so well portrayed by you. It is a beautiful, enjoyable and safe city to visit. You have fun and please keep posting! By the way, Portugal is not just Lisboa, if you can go visit Sintra (metropolitan area of Lisbon) or catch a bus to Évora (1h30m trip) in Alentejo (different region) to see something different but still amazing. All the best to you
@@FaizalWestcott you are more than welcome, I truly appreciate that my city and country are being discovered in a photographic way. Altough a small country compared to the US, the diversity of scenery as you travel around is huge. Every city is completly different, and if you have the chance in the future I would most defintly recomend you to go visit Porto, our second biggest city and you would get the contrast between our major cities. All the best to you, and please let us know when you are back in Lisbon.
I see a photo at 5:50 The 11:30 shot is great, a crop down of just the right third - awesome. At 12:33 nice. At 11:44 the patterns are very nice. Lisbon looks as though there is much to see of beauty and people enjoying the day. Take care, Loren
I am in Portugal right now for vacation. Lisbon, Sintra, Belem, Coimbra, Nazarè, Porto, the Ocean and its cliffs… this Country is splendent. A true joy for street photography and photography in general. And man… Pastel De Nata is like a drug! 😂
Your videos bring me so much joy, I am glad that I also started my own channel. I really like how you tell a story with your videos ✌️ Every time happy to see when a new upload is in my feed
Love this - I have visited Lisbon multiple times and love the chill vibes for street photography…. The pov video is great to point all of us to new places to shoot.
I just love your photos of Lisboa! I hope you enjoyed your Peshtel de Nata! I've been living in Porto for 2 years now and you gave me plenty of new ideas for my photos! Thank you 😍😘
LOVE how you did this photo walk comparison! I just ordered my first GR … and IIIx … it’s on the way! Despite a few of it’s short comings (what camera does not have?) … I am so excited. I live Hawai’i Island … so no cities … but watching lots of videos about the IIIx has given me lots of non-touristy pic ideas! Mahalo for a lovely Lisbon stroll … love the old Spanish Portagese ways of creating cities .. so created for real humans with heart & soul!
Loved the comment "the city is so hilly". Lisbon actually has the nickname of "city of the 7 hills". Glad you liked the city and the video is really nice.
You are very talented with capturing photos with pleasing reflections. I've noticed this in many of your videos and love it! Keep up the great work FW :)
Love your videos bro. Really inspiring. I always wondered if you or one of your parents were former Malaysian/Indonesian. Faisal is a classic name. Cheers bro
Another great video Faisal. Did a lot of street photography in Porto, but the hills in Lisbon & Porto were hard on my old back. So far, my most photogenic city , in my opinion of course , is Lucerne . Working on a plan to return to Europe soon. Absolutely love the history & architecture.
Very engaging and awesome perspectives! So cool to see your trip in Lisbon and that Pastel de nata looks sooo good… sorry if I butchered the spelling. The photos too are superb
I wanted to visit Porto! but seeing as we were in Lisbon for just two weeks we figured to stay put and do a separate trip another time. So much to see in Portugal
Its funny cuz I came back yesterday from a US road trip and I love the difference to Portugal/Lisbon. I’m Portuguese and I shoot mainly in Lisbon (have two POV vids) and I love the US cities look. I found Lisbon to be very narrow and with a lot of signal pollution. Don’t get me wrong, I love my city but I’m used to it.
🙏👍🤩 I love your video and pictures! I’m from Denmark but LOVE Lisboa and go there as often as I can… I just bought a RICOH GR3x and are excited. Can you tell me about which presets you’re using - M, P, U1,2,3, or..?
Lisbon is a fantastic city. A photographers's paradise! Pasteis de nata. There's a famous pasteis de nata bakery down by the cathedral on the waterfront! ;)
Excellent video and great photos! I have a question for you, have you ever had a need for a wider fov during a photo walk? I'm in a dilemma about which Ricoh to buy, GR III or GR IIIx, I'm afraid that the 40mm will be too narrow for documenting my travels, except for street photography. Greetings from Croatia!
Lisbon is easily my favourite city. So much so that I'm going to move there in January. Hit me up if you ever come back, and let's take some shots together! ✨
Great video again Faizal. I was wondering if you experienced any dust issues during your travel and what are your thoughts on this camera with regard to this issue. It is one of the only thing that prevent me from making a choice, but I see your work abroad and am in love the potential of this camera. I will be in East and Southeast Asia for a while and want to make the right decision. Thanks!
greetings from france. I'm a Fuji photographer who made the mistake of selling his Fuji X100F 3 years ago and today obviously can't find a Fuji X100V available in stores... Looking at your report, I guess you would recommend the GR3X as a credible alternative, even if it's obviously not the same type of camera in the end. However, this little Ricoh seems to have many arguments in its favor for street photography ....
Dude I love your videos. They've inspired me to start doing some photography of my own. I recently bought a Canon m200 just for my first ever camera. But I just can't get to the point of actually shooting PEOPLE. I don't know what it is but when I bring the camera up to my face I suddenly feel the gaze of everyone around me like I just made eye contact with the whole block. How is it that I feel more exposed behind the lens? How do you deal with that? Or is it just experience?
I know what you mean! You overcome that through experience, but there are some ways to work around it like the popular fishing technique. So instead of seeing a person and photographing them, you pick out a scene, frame up your camera, and allow people to pass through the photo youve already set up. You wont raise any attention to yourself because you've already raised up your camera! People will also not think you're photographing them
Question: how do you actually film yourself out shooting?, or do you have a second person filming?. I tried filming a video with my phone while shooting at night and simply gave up, needed 5 arms etc
Have you encountered heating issue? Using my griii for about 2 weeks, it haven’t shut off due to overheating but it does get quite warm(and a bit hot) when i use it for about 15 mins
Beautiful pics (like always) Faizal! Love to watch your videos. One question, do you still have the go pro on your chest? The angle looks a little different to me but it looks really good.
hey brother. was wondering what settings you use to take the photos shown in this video, and were they edited after being taken with filters or are these the raw photos? i recently picked up the Sony RX100 VII and hoping to shoot some street as well. DYT the sony can capture similar quality photos as this camera?
The miradouros in Lisbon like são Pedro de Alcântara or Adamastor are worth passing by. The 28 electric car also if you have time, The neighborhood Alfama is a wonderful labyrinth to explore and so on…enjoy the trip!

I would add Porto to the list. Come visit the north of the country, you won't be disappointed :)
Appreciate your Video! I’m right here in Lisboa and enjoy my GR iiix urban also in these beautiful streets of Lissabon
Faisal....love watching your videos...its like a calm break in the middle of a long work day.

Hienoja kuvakulmia ja kuvia. Viikko sitten Lissabonissa käyneenä kiva katsella ja hyviä kuvausvinkkejä.
Kanava tilattu.kiitos
Your videos bring me so much joy,
I am glad that I also started my own channel.
I really like how you tell a story with your videos ✌️
Every time happy to see when a new upload is in my feed
Watched this while having breakfast and I was so immersed. Thanks for taking us along!
Loved to see how you framed the photo and told the story!
Watching your videos makes me feel so calm and at ease
Congrats! Thanks for sharing our beautiful LISBOA.
Love this - I have visited Lisbon multiple times and love the chill vibes for street photography…. The pov video is great to point all of us to new places to shoot.
I've always loved Lisbon lemons. They're yellow too. Not sure if that has anything to do the color of the houses, streets etc, but there you go!
I just love your photos of Lisboa! I hope you enjoyed your Peshtel de Nata! I've been living in Porto for 2 years now and you gave me plenty of new ideas for my photos! Thank you 😍😘
Peshtel? 🤣😁😁
Great vid as always my man, saw a lot of spots I hit up when living in Lisbon. Can’t wait to get back out there for some street photography sessions
Lovely streets of Lisaboa. Wonderful alleyways to wander up. Love also pastel de nata.
It's nice to see someone portray Portugal so nicely!
I was there a while back with my fuji too, must've missed you! 😆
I'm really enjoying your choice of music! Great content, also.
love your calm style Faizal.
you need to go to Porto Portugal, everything there is so beautiful, you'll love it
Great video of a beautiful place. Love the photos.

Beautiful! I have some of the same shots from my two weeks in Lisbon in 2016. Love that city. Thank you.
Love the videos, so relaxing and encourages me to get out and about 👍🏻

Love your videos and seeing things through your eyes. This makes me want to return to Lisbon again too.

I really like your compositional choices Faizal.
Thanks RJ!
That first shot is absolutely fire!

You should try Sony A7RV with 12-24mm

Lovely video, I am interested in the Ricoh and hence came across your video and later subscribed. What camera do you use for your POV video?
Hi, I want to know are u using the GR to shoot raw or jpg only ?
8:53 is a really good shot
Question: how do you actually film yourself out shooting?, or do you have a second person filming?. I tried filming a video with my phone while shooting at night and simply gave up, needed 5 arms etc
wow you captured the city perfectly!
thank you!!
Great job!
do you have some spotify playlists? love the music in your videos!

I think I'm just using the flat profile with normal sharpness!
Settings and workflow would be cool
Yeah, the way the clothes are drying is crazy. We use to do that kind of crazy stuff.
Love your reflections. Funny but, no portuguese was seen in this video haha😅
the goat 🐐
the sun looks nice on the buildings
You should do a second video in Lisbon, I mean, there’s so much more to explore! I’m bias cause it’s my city but damn, its beautiful!
More to come! Don’t worry!
