Been working in restaurants for 20 years. Only ever been a dishwasher or fry cook. I'm now a line cook at a ramen shop . I watch these videos on my breaks because our cooks freak out when there's 5 tickets on a rail.... these videos keep me grounded.
Jack I did this job and loved it and I made the mistake to go into food sales in the foodservice industry, but if I had it to do over again I would have gone to culinary school and kept cooking. If this is your passion stick with it. Love the videos they really take me back.

Just got off a week of 10/12 hr shifts in the kitchen. Came home, told myself I'd try and get my mind off the strain on my body and mind that this kind of work loves to invoke. But here I am, just watching a night on the line, after an entire week on the line. It's addicting - and I love it. PSA If you have never worked in restaurant's, then let me tell you, this kitchen was unfathomably busy this night. Tickets from top to bottom coming in all night. The best!

Ugh this gives me flashbacks of doing 200-300 covers in a few hours. Nonstop boogie. Your whole body starts to buzz after a while. Just slanging food in controlled chaos. I would have to spray my shoes off in the dish pit after the shift was over

this is the kind of kitchen i like. I work in a corporate restaurant and dam so much rules and not much cooking going on. We use rational as a way to cook food. Rationals are good for bulk cooking but not the means to replace stove

As well as prep work. People do not realize the amount of prep work that goes into a well-functioning kitchen.
