- Here we have a Sig Sauer P228 semi-automatic pistol in 9mm. Serial number - B106116. MFG Date: 1989 in West Germany. This pistol is in good condition and comes with the original box, manual, holster, test round sheet, and 5 magazines. There is some minor finish/holster wear as seen in the photos. It appears to have aftermarket Trijicon night sights. A compact version of the P226, the P228, is in use with various law enforcement agencies and also with the US military, where it is designated as the M11. The P228 was thought to be the first compact pistol.
It’s amazing these lightly fired in the box West German Sig Sauer P228’s and P226’s can still be found for 600-$700. That is a great bargain considering the fact to build such a pistol to the same specs and standards with today’s costs - the gun would be priced closer to $3,000.

I have a NIB red box 228 also..I can't bring myself to fire it. I have plenty of other 228s and 229s but not my red box.

Mine is rarer then that it's a true to tone nickel Swiss police marked model all proffed in west Germany 1994 ke pw arms Redman wa 95 precent condition 1800.00 sig on gun broker in box target papers be ,2500 plus yes these or the cream of the crop they have when up from say 650 1200 to as high as 2500 plus on type conditions and nickel to tone full or rare beast keep um clean oil they go like a ak47 lifetime
