Whats even worse is she was bonded out of jail and did go back to school. She was actually scheduled to walk at the graduation ceremony but students protested and they removed her name. Of the 14 years... she only has to serve 85% of it ... that means she'll serve less than 12 years.
First guy didn't sound sorry at all like he was just reading a statement someone else wrote for him. He murdered someone but got a light sentence for being rich. Infuriating.
@@loiscassels8966 I am sick and tired--and absolutely disgusted--with people who rush as fast as they can essentially to equate a dog's life with that of a person. Dogs are not people. To know that she was alive and screaming after the accident breaks my heart. Her and her beautiful lab died a senseless death and an agonizing death. What a disgrace for the short amount of jail time. I understand when people take the law into their own hands when they hear crap like this. If I were at the accident scene I know I would have flipped out on the driver. I would have made sure justice was handled right then and there. Obviously the justice system failed this girl and dog.
The first crash disgusts me to my core. The most clear example of how having money makes laws slide off you. He murdered that poor woman and her dog, they were just having a normal night and they were murdered because of the selfish actions of an asshole pos. To drive drunk automatically makes you subhuman trash without exception, but to then kill someone… He deserves life in prison. It doesn’t matter how sorry he is. He’s gonna be out driving drunk the first chance he gets cause people like that only care about themselves and view themselves as the main characters in life. Makes me so angry for the injustice of that incident.
Oh my gah I feel the same way. Listening to them yelling can we get some help?? While it’s their, well his, fault and they have no regard for the poor woman and dog screaming and burning to death 😮
"To drive drunk automatically makes you subhuman trash" this one you can't argue aganist. People who drive under influence should lose their license without any chance of getting it back. Keep dumb people away from the road and at the same time make roads less crowded... no downsides for this idea.

@@chrissalem3747 Main character syndrome doesn't mean that you think you are the main character in your OWN life story. We all are that. It means you inflate your own importance in every situation. You are the star not just of your own show but of THE show. If you attempt to make yourself the main character in every situation you are in, then you have MCS. If you only see a situation through the lens of how it affects your life, and are incapable of seeing it from the pov of others affected, then you have MCS. I live in Las Vegas. The first video hurt. That poor woman and pup. We were devastated for her and her family. The sentence for him was too light. The city was pissed.
I often wonder if that’s the result of a plea deal. I wouldn’t question it until I had a lawyer explain the record and how the sentence got reduced. It may be an effective way of getting people off the street.
The first story actually had me sobbing. As soon as I heard them say they could hear her screaming in the car but weren’t able to save her, I broke down. I hope she was holding her doggie tight. Drunk driver crashes sadden me to the core.
That was the most disturbing part. To anyone that experienced those screams, the family, and woman who lost their life that day…my heart breaks for the pain you must all feel. What makes it worse, when the murderer talks in court, I don’t hear any remorse or emotion from him. I doubt he even cares. RIP
Can you imagine being burned alive, and the poor guy who heard her screams as he tried to rescue her, that will haunt him for the rest of his life. That footballer should have been jailed for 30 years minimum.
Henry Ruggs was sentenced to 3-10 years in 2021, that means next year he could get out. The person he killed was 23 years old, she lost a possible 80 plus years of life, he gets inconvenienced for 3 years of his life. There is no justice in America.
How is it one guy gets 20 years for killing one person and the other guy gets 3-10 for killing another! Such Bullsh** I think both sentences are too lenient!
I always thought that a murder/manslaughter sentence should be Average life expectancy less age of victim plus 25 years. With early release only after average life expectancy less actual age time completed. In the girl and dog case it would be 80-23+25= 82years with early release considered after 57 years.
If you watch the body cam footage of Ruggs and his girlfriend you'll see the truth. They thought because he played for the Raiders that he should get special treatment and was more important than the person in the burning car. It was truly disgusting.

As a nurse I took care of too many victims of DUI collisions and an heartbreaking number of those good people who were admitted for their injuries were never able to walk back out again. Too many of them sustained either head injuries or spinal cord injuries that left them unable to care for themselves any longer. There ARE fates worse than death. If you put someone in a wheelchair for the rest of their lives you damned good and well ought to wind up in prison for the rest of your own life.
It irritates me when the news media says: "the victim's injuries are not life threatening". Like you pointed out, just because you don't die doesn't mean your life hasn't been horribly altered to a point that some people would consider it over.
The third girl who killed two people is chilling---a complete sociopath. "You killed two people". "OK, but can I go to school tomorrow?" You KILLED two people. Does that bother you? I worked at a Level 1 Trauma and Burn Center in the eighties when I was in my 20s. One of the HARDEST things for us to deal with is when we had victims of a DUI collision where we busted our tails and weren't able to save them, but the drunk who had caused the collision, who seemed to only ever sustain a minor injury, would be in the Observation area acting a fool because they were still drunk and handcuffed to the stretcher. Very, VERY difficult to maintain professional demeanor while providing care for them.
Then you must have not been a professional, b/c the Hippocratic oath prepares you for that. MOST times, the person that is drunk will not have too bad of an injury, the victims tend to get the worst, a drunk person or a person under the influence, body tense up and does not tend to get harmed in a major way, I worked in the ER for YEARS, over 34 years experience here, and we just do our best to save LIVES, ALL lives, does not matter who was in the wrong, that is not our call.

One of our crews were almost killed by a drunk driving the wrong way on the interstate and I was working that night but we were at a station too far to go and help. They flew out the drunk and everyone in the ambulance including the patient had minor injuries thanks to the EMT who was also a state trooper and he turned the ambulance in a way that they were not hit straight head on. The drunk hit the front corner. We need tougher laws in all states in handling drunk drivers. Fed up hearing about the same drunk getting arrested over and over for DUI!
Hello mate. I was ana ambulance tech over in England for a bit. And I completely relate to that. It's absolutely disgusting. It's exactly the same over here. You can kill someone with a car and not see one day in prison.
One of my former co-workers who worked for AMR was on a call in Mississippi. Worked in ER at Level III trauma hospital; we had a staff-compiled list of things we learned. One of the lessons: 'likelihood of a person surviving a drunk driving accident is generally inversely proportional to their worth to society' . More often than not, innocent victims die, while intoxicated drivers who killed them has minor injuries, obliviously chitchatting and complaining about handcuffs.
I heard it has to do with the alcohol keeping their bodies loose/preventing the muscles from tightening up which increases their likelihood of surviving
Wow! You all researched this on your own? Because this was mentioned to our Drivers Ed. class in the 90's about the DUI drivers are mostly alive in their crash while the victims suffer major injuries or death.

It’s a question of intent. They didn’t mean to kill anyone. Certainly it deserves prison because of the alcohol and speed but it’s not the same as murder.
Following rules is harder than breaking them. It's freedom against restriction. Both can be good and bad depending how it is used. To smack someone's car window to get someone out that has fainted, is vandalism but at the same time you'd be potentially saving somebody.
General rule to live by, if your freedoms are taking away someone else's, damaging someone else's, or in any way restricting someone else's freedoms, you are breaking the rules that matter. Many rules are bullshit. But if you can literally see the possible victims of your actions you should fucking know better.
A good example is drunk driving on private property. In my location it's not legal to even use a chainsaw with ANY blood alcohol level. On your own fucking land. If I want to lose my leg or drive my truck drunk in the woods I own, that's my buissnes. Very different then the public space however

@georgehill3087 that's not why. It's biological - bodies and muscles relax with alcohol and response time is delayed. The tensing up that sober people do before an accident makes internal injuries more severe, and being still relaxed helps control the body in a real way.
Sad to know that we are not even safe in our own houses from drunk drivers. And the first guy not only killed the women and the dog, but killed them both in one of the most gruesome and painful ways someone could die and just got a slap on the wrist for it. Driving drunk at 111 mph OVER the speed limit and his star status and a poorly rehearsed phony apology get him off on a misdemeanor? America has to get over its celebrity fetish.
Women tend to get lighter sentences on average in the first place, but I think this is so severe since she's obviously from wealth. She's clearly not that bright, and is clearly very spoiled, she probably got into such a great school through nepotism and wealth. Which would mean her parents have infulence in the community, which would 100% infulence the judge. If I was the judge I'd give her the maximum possible due to the complete heartlessness she displayed. Then, if she changed her ways she could always get parole. But 14 years is way too lenient, she'll barely be over 30, that's hardly a punishment for 2 lives and blatantly not caring. And we all know she'll likely get out early like 7-10 years.
Wow... That bodycam of Stephanie just completely not giving a single care, just helped me confirm something I've thought before. Alcohol really is one of the worst drugs you could be putting in your body, and yet society considers it normal.

That was a trauma response you were witnessing. Almost everyone experiences it under extreme events. Her brain was in the process of protecting itself from the reality, it was editing out the events as they were happening. I can almost guarantee you that if she watched that back now she would have no memory of any of it, and not because she was drunk. This isn't a defense of her at all, it's just a psychological reality that people need to understand instead of thinking she's some kind of "demon".

Not a shred of remorse for ending the lives of two innocent people. Her attitude alone merits 10 more years. She is completely remorseless and will offend again. This is a Narcissist + Sociopath, or a Psychopath. Disgusting.
“Are you gonna let me suffer?” You just hit a house and killed a kid you monster‼️
14 years for killing 2 people in an accident that was completely avoidable?? No remorse, just selfish remarks. She should be in jail for life!!!
She will
Get out early too
Yes we need to get the justice system on the side of the victims
The judge told her things like this can happen when you get too much ale in your belly.
Her callous disregard for human life she displayed after the accident should have given her more time than the crash itself.
14 years is not enough. in fact id argue its LIFE for TAKING SOMEONE ELSES. LEAST OF ALL TWO other LIVES. its DISGUSTING how they handle 'drunk driving DEATH'
In nz it's up to 10 years, and lots of people don't get anywhere near that. It's disgusting
Its because they arent inherently evil people. They let alcohol take over their lives and deadly consequences happened because of it.
It’s a question of intent. They didn’t mean to kill anyone. Certainly it deserves prison because of the alcohol and speed but it’s not the same as murder.
@@fainitesbarley2245 Oh, well if they didn't mean it then I guess it's ok.
if it would be ok they wouldn‘t go to jail for 10 years
This is the most problematic aspect of being medical. Having to help killers survive crashes where dogs and owners were killed.
That poor poor woman and her dog. Just no reason for people to drunk and drive. This is hideous.
The second clip when the cop is treating the suspects like the children they are is gold.
I came rushing to the comments when I heard him go sh-sh-shshsh 😂
The worst part is not the shocking revelation of killing someone, but the fact that it could have been easily avoided by following the rules.
Very different then the public space however
@@FeedMeSalt if i understand correctly, you're also not allowed to fly a drone above 250g (around 8.8 ounces) without registering it or attaining a license for it. On. Your. Own. F√√ππng. *PROPERTY.*
Well, with the chainsaw the issue is, if you happen to accidentally murk yourself with the chainsaw while drunk, I think the government will have to spend their time and resources to sort things out.
But with a drone... A flying toy, c'mon, that's ridiculous. It's also getting more and more restrictive on where you can take off. I believe entire cities are a no-fly takeoff zones including parks. But it's only take-off, you can apparently take-off near it and fly above it theoretically. The laws are a mess with more holes than swiss cheese.
@FeedMeSalt that is some B.S. gov't overreach for sure. How are those laws even enforceable??? That's as absurd as saying you can't cook and have a glass of wine...or hell, even cook WITH wine...
Why is it that so often the offending driver lives while the innocent victims die?
alcohol makes muscles relax
Muscle tension is usually a big part
@@amelianekomimi1936 True
It's sad to say, but in a car crash, the car that go FASTER is the one who recieve the less damage.. And it depend on the angle, if you go 100mph and you slam into the SIDE of an other car, well the other car will be worst, because it's on the side
Because the driver is the most protected in a front end crash. Cars are designed like that.
@georgehill3087 that's not why. It's biological - bodies and muscles relax with alcohol and response time is delayed. The tensing up that sober people do before an accident makes internal injuries more severe, and being still relaxed helps control the body in a real way.
She suffered an injured wrist? Thats 50% of her income down the drain.
🤣
😆😂Gold!
Sad to know that we are not even safe in our own houses from drunk drivers.
And the first guy not only killed the women and the dog, but killed them both in one of the most gruesome and painful ways someone could die and just got a slap on the wrist for it. She wasn't even unconscious when she burned to death, the fact that she was awake and aware of it all it so unsettling. I feel so bad for her and her dog and also her families knowing that she had to suffer in that way before dying.
The football player story is horrific, but Stephanie the oblivious lush is infuriating! RIP to all these victims and bless their families.
You should watch the entire video. She's TRULY pathetic
The entitlement is strong with her if she gets time she's the type that drinks and parties the day she gets out.
Saw the first one before but don't think I ever saw the sentence he is facing... what an absolute slap in the face to her loved ones!!!!
Agree 💯
Justice is served in the After life . " Man is incapable of Governing himself " - quote in the Bible . That also refers to Wo-Man as it is referring to Mankind .
@@harveyparker-b8e Sorry to break it to you, but there is no afterlife.
Not only that but the gf asking for help while the victims burn to death is laughable
Thank you for doing your due diligence and researching their charges. Saw that last one a while back and was super curious what happened to her. Honestly, she'll probably be institutionalized by the time her parole rolls around
Speechless to the girl that wants to know what day she can go back to school! 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤬🤬🤬
Every time I see video of Stephanie I am completely sickened by her sociopathic behavior: I’ve I hurt people I’d be devastated. I ran hit a bunny years ago and it still upsets me. I cried for hours. This girl is a self obsessed psychopath.
You understand she was drunk at the time right? Like really drunk, Not 2 beers drunk.
@spencers4121 sir i don't care how drunk you are, you get told you just killed two people and if you have any humanity you sober up instantly
These types of girls are actively getting hired into positions of authority. It's a big part of why everything sucks right now.
@@spencers4121 You understand that alcohol isn't some blanket get out of bad behavior free card right? I don't care if she was so drunk she could hardly breath...she drank those drinks while driving herself around alone...she absolutely planned to drink and drive.
I cannot fathom why anyone would even begin to defend that.
@NSFcoolmom06 - You are totally right. The fact that she is drunk imho does not explain why she is reacting the way she is. I think she is a through and through bad person, and probably a psychopath too
How the hell can vehicular manslaughter be a misdemeanor charge. That's absolutely fucking ridiculous
It's a matter of manslaughter versus homicide. And it's very sad. Manslaughter is often offered In exchange for homicide when the defendant pleads guilty.
Privilege. Plain and simple.
It's just that no one will talk about it. They cry "white privilege" over anything. But this is black privilege 100%. Cops and the law afraid to punish a black guy cause they don't want to be called racists.
It's heartbreaking that the poor guy who tried to save the girl and her dog will most likely be more forever haunted and traumatized by this incident than the actual perpetrator.
That last one is one of the sickest narcissistic scenes I've ever seen. Kudos to the officer for keeping his cool.
Have you ever tried talking to a drink? It's pathetic.
Driving drunk at 111 mph OVER the speed limit and his star status and a poorly rehearsed phony apology get him off on a misdemeanor? America has to get over its celebrity fetish.
never gonna happen. that girl in the last story? stephanie? that's our average youth in america 2023.
The justice system in the country needs a thorough enema! 3-10 yrs for this is absolutely a crime all by itself, sickening!!
the way she went "my car got hit" instead of "the person that walked in front of me got hit"
A measly 14 years for killing 2 people is not only pathetic but a complete insult to the family and friends of the 2 lives lost. Great job judge
more than Ruggs, only got 3 years
Women tend to get lighter sentences on average in the first place, but I think this is so severe since she's obviously from wealth.
Yeah it’s one of those drugs you’re basically encouraged to do at least once in your life, most people don’t care.
Don't blame alcohol entirely. She for example is clearly a sociopath and likely psychopathic. I've been super drunk, yet right and wrong were clear even then.
Hollywood has a big role in Glorifying Alcohol .
Yes and no. I like drinking a good whisky once in a while but I NEVER drink and drive. Ever.
nope if your a aweull person on the inside alchl just makes you be unable to hide it for a short time and thats all it is.
alchol is not a hallcigen it is not something which totally overrides the mind it dosent "make mnsters" it simply reveals them.
sorry for the brokenspelling had to avoid youtubes shadocen bot.
"Can you say that as a cop?" I say that as a human being.
This cop was unprofessional. She was clearly not in a condition understanding what's going on, she was still under influence and delusional.
"I go to Bradley, why would this happen to me."
It didn't _happen to you,_ you _did_ it. She also refers to hitting a person as "my car got hit". No sense of responsibility whatsoever.
"I go to Bradley, why would this happen to me"...!?! The audacity😂 as if drunk driving impairment only applies to ppl at other schools 😂
It just goes to show you that having wealth, priviledge, and education doesn't make you a decent, moral person. She doesn't have and I doubt she will ever get it. Hopefully no one will hire her and she will be rejected by her peers.
How do you live with yourself when you’re the reason a human being and dog burned to death? What an atrocious way to die. I guess it’s easy for narcissists and sociopaths.
I know that one Horrifies me to the bone and I have a very thick skin I hate him for doing that to that poor woman and her dog 🤬😡

14 years was WAY toooo short a sentence for that POS girl who only gave a shyte about herself!! And there’s no amount of jail time enough for the deaths of innocent children & pets…let alone their parents 😢😢
“My car got hit” she really pissed me off
I couldn't understand Stephanie Melgoza the first time I saw the bodycam footage of her and I doubt I'll ever understand her. The only thing I can imagine is that something was left out of her, probably empathy. She even wanted to participate in her graduation ceremony at Bradley--it was student protests that got the school administration to decide to ban her (she still got her degree but participating in commencement is a privilege, not a right).
Good on the students. Was worried you were gonna say they were on her side
@@HowieRaps Nope. The school administration were being cowards, it took the outrage of the students to get the administration to do the right thing.
@@ct5625 Then why are their not hundreds, even thousands of video examples of this. Doesn't seem to happen at the accidents I go to, unless they are drunk or POS like this girl. Singing and dancing. TFOH.
@@ct5625possibly. But then she forces her fellow students to protest her attendance at graduation?? How do you want to explain that part?
Last girl only got 14 years for killing two people and no doubt she’ll be out in about seven what a disgrace
(First clip with Raider’s team member). Imagine killing someone and only facing 3 years in jail which means you might actually serve less than 18 months. Absolutely ridiculous! Should be a min of 15 years for taking someone’s life. At least!
3-10 YEARS?!!!! what a fxcking great example to young speeding drunk drivers that is.
The officer explaining to Stephanie of her actions said it all incredibly well. Terribly sorry for the victims, the victims family and to all officers on scene. Sending love and light to all.❤❤❤
Her reaction was UNREAL. She won't be in prison long enough....
Your love and light does FUCK ALL
Yes indeed. That emotional incontinence downgrades, then degrades, language. Its overuse signals a meaningless and fleeting attachment to each tragic situation. Whatever happened to measured and dignified responses@@chris101ward
I thought it was normal reaction for a drunk person ..UNTIL! She started singing and saying she was going to Vegas and getting alcohol as soon as she gets there! I was so angry and disgusted in that moment spoiled kids I swear thank hell for her parents being reasonable people.
@Cinephile_Sanity years are long and hopefully the lesson sinks in and she thinks before if ever getting behind the wheel again. Maybe they should raise the drinking age again to 25 if these kinds of incidents continue how hard is it not to drink and drive?
He was so devistated that he even read a statement written by his lawyer trying to stay out of jail. Just makes my heart bleed.
Yep they let a real piece of sht walk away
"sorry i guess" not even from the heart
*This is not the hardest thing to deal with as a LEO. In my 25 years of LE work the hardest thing I ever had to do was awaken a mother and father at 7:30am the day after Thanksgiving to tell them their 15 year old daughter was killed in a traffic crash while out state visiting her best friend. literally no one should be impressed by Ruggs. that was so evil to say dude.
She kills 2 people and gets 14 years (paroled at 7 with good behavior.) Is that supposed to be justice?
Ong how is a double kill 14 years
When she gets out she be doing some heavy drinking to catch up on those 7 years of being on the wagon in the slammer.
In her state she has to serve at least 80% of the sentence, but it is still nowhere near enough.
Also, in the time between this video and her actually going to prison she was free and conceived and gave birth to a child. So there's also that.
The woman that is smiling in her mugshot after learning she killed 2 people only got 14 years .The drunk perpetrators are unscathed whilst the sober victims go to an early grave. How could Stephanie just sit there and let everyone else take care of the situation. Is it not an impulsive reaction to rush and help those suffering especially from your hands.
damn only 3 years for killing a person and a dog?
I think it said 3-10 years
the other guy got 20!!
he must have a great lawyer
Fcking jock privilege
Wont even do 3. Probably 14 months and 2 years probation. It's crazy what status can buy you.
Thats gotta suck to see "help" backing away from you right before the fire consumes you.
It's so nice we have someone like you to make these videos. I like these types of videos, and appreciate that you do them.
Anyone who ends every sentence with bro or bruh, should be locked up for life without the possibility of parole. A walking crime waiting to happen.
Its always the innocent victims that get badly injured or worse but the drunk drivers walk away with almost no injuries and not enough time in prison!
So, how come the NFL player got off with a slap on the wrist? The victim and her dog WERE BURNED ALIVE. That is the exact opposite of social justice.
