This was very thorough. Most videos run though too fast and do not explain like you did. It feels a little bit less daunting, and I may finally get mine started. Kudos 👏
Thank you!! I hope you give it a try! It’s not as complicated as it seems and easy to cut out a section and make corrections! Good Luck and Happy Growing 🌱💚
Yes drip irrigation is the way to go. You explained it very well and I think the trench you made by the fence was great to do in that area (for the lawn mower trimming, or tripping over). The tubing laying on the surface in beds are fine to be on top. I’m going to have to do some shutoff valves in my beds. That will be an upgrade for me. Thanks for sharing.
That’s another good thing,it’s easy to make upgrades or changes! Another viewer recommended some micro shut off valves, I am going to add those for my pots. Thank you for watching 🌱💚
Congratulations on the drip install. Living in Texas you really need irrigation. I installed mine roughly 3 years ago. My extension was necessary in the new garden. I water a few containers by hand so I can walk the garden and check for any issues in my drip lines. Good luck with your garden.😊
Thank you! I plan to do the same, water a few things by hand still and check the drip lines. I have to get used to not watering and trust the drip lines. Happy Growing, thanks for watching 🌱💚
Great instructions. I am a bit intimidated about drip tubing. Your clear instructions, and photos, gave me what I need to start my drip this growing season. I will come back here after I get my set up to let you know how it is going. Thank you.
Good Evening Veggie, First let me say, I thank you so much for Joining Us on my live stream last night, You Truly Dropped a Awesome Spiritual Seed On Me and Many of the people that were there, This Drip irrigation is going to help you and your Plants in Your Texas Heat, Thank you for Sharing the Process, 💜👍🏾
So glad it was helpful! Figuring out the spigot connection was one of the first things I had to tackle Hope you decide to attempt the install, it really is a game changer in the hot weather! 🌱💚
Yeah that North Texas metroplex heat the last few summers was no joke, even at 10:00 pm. I found that installing micro shut off valves on the drip rings allowed me to control the flow of water (as you have multiple emitters in one pot)so it wasn’t running through the pot/soil so fast. Drip irrigation is going to bless your life. Great install job!
Yes, this summer heat is something that you have to be prepared to handle, lol! Thank you for that tip on the micro shut off valves, I’ll be adding those! Happy Growing 🌱💚
Great video! I’ve wanted to install drip for 3 years now. Like you, I didn’t have the nerve. This week I have finally ordered everything and I got it from Drip Depot too! Thank you thank you for this video!! 😊😊😊
Drip irrigation is really great, frees up my time so I can address aphids, and other things on my veggies. I am planting basil this year and letting it go to flower all over the garden to help with the aphids. And I made a lot of DIY bird baths to attract birds to eat the tomato worms.
Hey Stacey! Excellent DIY Drip Irrigation for raised beds and pots video! You explained things really well. 3:36 loved the labeled pieces for screen shot. Great job!
I feel you !!! That’s how I felt about the misquote!!! So I got the drip from Amazon last year !! And with that sponsorship from rainpoint. I’m ready to go !! I just need the time !!! Great job 👏🏾 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Sometimes there’s just a tipping point to make you look for an easier way, lol That Rainpoint timer is really nice! I may have to upgrade Thanks for watching Jay💚🌱
Hi Beauty!!! IDK why i have been so intimidated by utilizing my irrigation system. I purchased from the same company two years ago and ran the main water tubing but never connected the emitters to my beds. You gave me the inspiration to complete this projects. BTW you have the most beautiful sister locs. My little girl has them. She is 11 and going through that awkward teen phase. Her hair is thick and pretty just like yours. I literally took a screen grab of you to assure her of how long and beautiful her locs will be in a few short years 🥰🥰🥰
You’ve done the hard part running the main line so congratulations on that! Hope the rest of your install goes smoothly! Thanks so much for the compliment on my sisterlocks! When I first got mine I looked at a lot of pics to keep me motivated so I understand the awkward phase. I hope she hangs in there, they only get better! I love having locs! Thanks for watching 🌱💚
Thank you for sharing this! You’ve encouraged me to put my system together and to inform me of what additional pieces are needed first safety measures!🤗❤
I was intimidated also, but once I started it wasn’t complicated and everything I researched started to make sense. I hope you give it a try! Thanks for watching 🌱💚
New sub here! I want to thank you for your in depth video on how you set up your drip system! 10:55 Was invaluable to me! I was literally on Amazon searching for "drip rings" not even thinking I already have what I need in my drip war chest. Until I found this video, I was resigned to adding the broadcast emitters to my inground shrubs. Thank you so much for your content and sharing! :)
Thank you so much for making this video. It was very easy to follow and very informative. I was so intimidated before watching and now I’m inspired to give it a try.
Thank you for this easily understandable walkthrough. You are a good teacher - I’ve been thinking about this for my raised beds and now I feel more confident I can do this!
New subscriber here 🤗 this video is very informative. Many people have the know how but you also have the ability to teach it to others and I appreciate that! I looked into drip systems 2 years ago but it seemed too complicated at the time. Watching your video today simplified the different couplings. Thanks for labeling everything at the water spout in a photo. I have the screen shot and will look into this after I finish my current indoor renovation.
I have watched tons of "setting up drip" videos from small channels to mega channels. This was the most informative one I've seen! Great job. Your diagram with the labeled parts was super helpful. Question -- I've hesitated putting drip to our faucet outside because anytime we turn it on, even with the garden hose on and shut off, there is a constant, pretty loud, hum that you can hear inside the house in the room closest to that faucet.Do you have that issue?
Thank you so much for that compliment! Sorry, I don’t have that humming issue. I can understand your hesitance about adding anything additional to that faucet. I hope you can get it figured out! Thanks for watching 🌱💚
Hi Stacey! Awesome tutorial on how you laid out your drip irrigation. I actually did mine a couple of weeks ago. However, I noticed the flow on my bubbler aren't bubbling like they should. Also, I didn't know about those 1/4 " vinyl dripper you used. I really like those. I'm going to go back to the store (Turf Supply Store) where I purchased all my drip irrigation supplies and explained the problem I'm having. As always, thanks for sharing!😊
Congratulations to you for completing your install! Those bubblers weren’t working well for me either, that’s why I went back to look for the button drippers. I hope you get everything straightened out🌱💚
Thank you Queen Esi! I’m sure when you are ready you’ll have no problem getting it done! I’ve seen your updated gardening area and it’s looking beautiful, Happy Growing 🌱💚
Hello! Good luck with your installation! Don’t be nervous, it’s easy to correct any mistakes just cut that piece off and add in a connection piece to replace it. Let me know how it goes!🌱💚
Oh my goodness! Why haven’t I heard of Drip Depot before? Thank you!! You did a GREAT job explaining. Love your hair and where did you get your gloves & boots from? I checked to see if someone else might have asked, but didn’t see anything. SO cute! New follower!!
