I was actually surprised at how easy it was on hard for me. This game is all about preparation. As long you use the right archetypes, you can usually win or by utilizing the stun system. At least based on the demo
It's like More says, when it comes down to it what truly matters is your tactical acumen then anything else. Whether you get by with archetypes setup or items it's up to you. If I remember correctly in the end it doesn't really matter who has what archetypes as long as you have the skill to pull it off. Not that you have party members to swap out with
@@UnlimitedFlyers well according to the old man, it was on the smaller side. And nother, it wasn't slain so much as driven to retreat. Still, should have at least been worth two levels or something.
Better setup would be Mage/Seeker/Warrior. Mage and Seeker go to back row Warrior in front row. Only thing that hurts is if seeker gets hit with Fireball several times in a row. Other than that Blizz and Sword slash. But that was me doing it on hard mode. Seeker keeps heals up and make sure you have restoratives jic.
Trust/Believe me Brother try doing the Ultimate cheese of going all 3 Mage on this Dragon and the Bird Looking Human, you'll thank me later its literally the Incarnation of "Once you go Black you can't go Back"
Did the same strat. I had Seeker buff my Mage with Tarukaja and blocked every other turn since the boss had a set rotation between physical attacks and fireballs.
I was playing on Hard, and I was adamant on beating it just because everyone said that I had to leave. And I hate being told what to do. So in order to beat him, I just got back to grinding the monsters of the cave until I was strong enough to cause good damage with all the characters. It took a while but I managed to beat it (except Old guy still died because of an unexpected tail sweep).
not in the demo - you will have to start a new game if you dont have a save before the dragon encounter maybe you will be able to get back there in full release of the game, but we dont know that
Eyepatch on Mage, MC and Strohl on Warrior. The two heal and defend the mage while eyepatch spams Blizz. Just a few medicines needed and its an easy kill on hard.
You can grind as much as you want. The dragon is on the main story path and the cut off point is 3 Days after you return to the capital the second time and get let off the leash to do non main story stuff.
In hard mode I felt him easy. The 3 were in the back. Stroll as an explorator , Grius warrior , Main as a mage. Stroll was all the time taking the Argo due to weakness so always defend except when he was starting first he would heal , then Grius and main are attacking with few time in défense. Used 4 médecines and 1 revive then done.
My dumbass forgot to save before this and was too scared he was going to be super overpowered so i avoided the fight missing a pretty nice greatsword 🤦♂️
Litteraly just did this on Normal difficulty, my guys where lvl 7&8 hea actually super easy. My Grius was the mage so i just made him cast ice each turn and use the other two to either heal or get the odd hit in. Bearing in mind i had 0 mp potions so total off 20 mp for the other 2 and 90mp for Grius. He doesnt hit too hard tbh, so took about 5-10 min tops. Edit: i had a harder time with those sandworms than the dragon 🤣
@@PolitiClank well as he shown, warriors and a healer, move the wounded ones to back row if you can't heal right away, and use the consummable ice attack you can buy to the merchant a bit before as much as you can to get extra turns.
Did you equip the better equipements you could and put the squishy mages and healers in the backrow ? Because I did that and he never reached 200 in hard mode
I managed to beat it, after a few tries, by spamming the knight-warrior's combo attack (300 Dmg per hit on normal with Tarukaja), and turtling for the rest of the fight. I beat him with a team of seeker-warrior-knight, but you can prolly swap the seeker for a warrior or a knight with Dei as herited skill, if you have the MAG.
Its easier if you give the old fart mage, since you know is the smart thing to do instead of giving him a job you already have, the dragon is weak to ice
I had the protagonist have every archetype unlocked by the end of the demo. He is the one that'll always be in the party. Despite me building him in pure agility. Thank goodness for the random point to cover my shenanigans
At hardmore it literally impossible to kill dragon, items is the thing you should spent quite a lot to defeat this dragon and praise the luck, and 2 warriors is necessary while seeker for healing(also try to defend as long as last turn to avoid being hit weakness).

so nice of the dragon to wait until Grius is done giving sound advice. I hope he doesn't die, haven't seen later footage with him in it like other party members.
Well, he is playable, he has a party portrait, and you can spend MAG to unlock archetypes for him. There's no way he would leave the party after the prologue :-3

thats how SMT works. Press turn systerm is fantastic.

Yeah, it reminds me of final fantasy 13, except less dynamic once the fight actually starts

I wanted to fight the dragon but the boss before it made my whole party’s sp low so I thought I wouldn’t last long. Now I kinda regret it😭
@@cyankd24Same, looks like i'am gonna start from the scratch when the game came out. Not only for this boss, but also for the achievements

The greatsword that you find in the chest can be brought to the church in the city and purified.
