    Broo you are smart. My rears had so much pressure I could no longer turn the ring. It was beginning to spin the threads themselves. This is a great idea and the oil filter tool another winner. Those little c shaped spanners are the worst to work with.

    Gonna give this a go on my 2018 Elantra sport! I am too lazy to unbolt and lower the control arm just for a height adjustment!

    Or you just raise both wheels so the sway bar does not push the suspension up like in the video. Depending on the shocks you might have to much preload on the rear springs to adjust without spanners.

    Went with these coilovers on a 135i and if I raise the car to a proper level with the springs properly snag at full droop the car sits too high. If I lowered to my liking the springs are loose at full droop. I wonder if I get 1 wheel up in the air at the track if the springs can stay secured??? Ride quality is great though.

    Hey Sean, I'm installing TCK SA coilovers on my E92 right now. How the hell do you get the rear ride height adjuster to sit flush with the body like yours? Do I need to press (the tapered part) into the upper mounting hole?

    • @Joeshomegarage
      @Joeshomegarage 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a metal factory ring that I thought was part of the frame that just pops out with a pry bar then the hole is open.

    nice video. on the rears if you want to raise the car do u turn the rings clockwise or counterclockwise.

    • @SeanS54
      @SeanS54  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I turn them counter clockwise to move the perch up, consequently moving the spring and car up.

    • @MrRunnerdog
      @MrRunnerdog 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Sean.. you said you were raising it and in the clip you went clockwise??

  • @W0LFThaKidd
    @W0LFThaKidd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Your rear springs are upside down the coilover part of them isn't supposed to be at the top of the spring but at the bottom.

    • @W0LFThaKidd
      @W0LFThaKidd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Only reason I know this is I just installed my coilovers and you also don't have the rubber boot on there your supposed to have on the top of your spring.

    Hey Sean i just picked up a used set of ST coilover for my E92 335i however one of the threads for the adjustable rear spring perches is stripped so i cant lower the rear. Do you know if I could by a new perch or do something to fix it?

    • @SeanS54
      @SeanS54  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can probably buy one from ST or another companies rear adjusters. I believe HP Autowerkes sells a kit. You can also try fixing the thread with a blade and flat head unless it's really messed up.

    Did you adjust the shock as well?

    • @SeanS54
      @SeanS54  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not in this video but when I'm on track I make the shock stiffer.

    • @Subawu_jku
      @Subawu_jku 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      SeanS54 sorry I didn't clarity. what I mean to say was did you adjust the preload on the rear shock did you make it longer or shorter, my mistake lol, I wasn't referring to the dampering.

    • @SeanS54
      @SeanS54  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      This TC Kline rear shock is only damping adjustable, the preload can not be adjusted externally like other shocks.

    • @Subawu_jku

      SeanS54 ahh interesting. Thanks for your input 👍

    • @Anomaly628
      @Anomaly628 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Subawu_jku you have to adjust the shock height not dampening for maximum comfort and performance..otherwise good video..

    hello, the upper adjustment piece of the rear spring must be screwed into the machine frame? do you have a video that can see the montage? thank you.

    • @SeanS54
      @SeanS54  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The upper spring adjustment doesn't screw into the frame. It's part of the coilover kit. How do you measure the strut tower then or is there a combination to both the tower n the spring

    • @SeanS54
      @SeanS54  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure what you mean by strut tower. Struts are in the fronts, shocks are in the rear in most BMWs. If you're referring to getting the height close on both sides, you just count the rotations of the spring collar perch, put the wheels back on, drive around, measure, adjust more if needed.

    I put bilstine sport shocks and lowering springs on my e92 and it takes bumps hard is there any way to make it not so bad

    • @SeanS54
      @SeanS54  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's several factors involved. What springs and spring rates are you running. How low did you set it, is there enough suspension travel? What size tires/wheels are you running? I've had great luck with Bilstein PSS9 in the past and I know Bilstein makes good shocks/struts.

      Maybe it's seized? Sometimes the threads get gunked up and difficult to spin. You can try spraying some WD40 on the threads.

    Your rear coil overs aren’t installed correctly.

    • @W0LFThaKidd
      @W0LFThaKidd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep they are upside down the metal part of that coilover should be at the bottom and he's missing the rubber boot that goes around the top of the spring from the stock oem suspension that you are supposed to use .
