    This video deserves more likes. It's so much easier to follow. Minor hickup I had was my computer couldn't find resolve the local host name. Looking into my router I could see an IP address was allocated to the pi and the host name was there. Google showed that this was a common occurrence but the solution was not easy. Thankfully someone find a way to bash it into submission. If you have a local host issue . You can SSH into the pi using the IP address. Then install a program called samba on the pi using command line. Samba is a file transfer program between windows and Linux. Then it works.

    I found this video a few hours ago, and I've been following your excellent instructions for the last hour or so. When I got to Mainsail, it reported an error. I followed it's guidance (reboot reload), and then it cleared the problem. But of course, I don't have Klipper on my Lerdge K board yet, so Mainsail noticed that. How it did that, I don't know because my Xvico/LerdgeK printer is off right now. So, it's on to your second video! Yahoo!

    i had klipper and Octoprint installed on a Pi for my 10s Pro by a friend. Then My Laptop died and i bought a new PC. But it does not have the Pi access apps so I need to install them. My friend is too busy and I have to set this up to edit my config. So it seems I need Putty and Kiauh to access Pi, very all the installs to Pi and allow me to setup Pi and run the optimization code for Klipper. If i install KIAUH would i then be able see all the installed apps on the Pi to verify they are there etc. Then us Putty to load up OctoKlipper for my new laptop is that right? Whew! I hate being so disconnected with my stuff. By my friend was so fast I could not keep it or take notes. Made me wish I had just bought the Sonic Pad from Creality, but i was convinced this would be better and with the $50 Screen save me $100. No I have lost 3 days of printing and am in trouble, behind schedule too. Ouch! Thank You Dennis

      if you install KIAUH it will show everything installed on the pi, there is no need to octoprint or octo klipper. you might want to download your printer config and just start over so your familiar with the setup. the BTT Pad 7 is better than the sonic pad as it has a stock version of klipper and not a hacked up version

    • @voidmarvel2682
      @voidmarvel2682 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rolohaun So I've since moved to Ubuntu but found the original issue was I had the wrong IP, since I couldn't get the host name to work I have to SSH via IP. So I have been able to get to the Mainsail webpage on the laptop. the next big issue I had was getting kiauh to pickup the printer via serial or USB, I checked lsusb and I can see the printer shows up as a new device but after flashing the printer with the recommended settings from (cr10 smart Pro printer.cfg) I see nothing when requesting 'get MCU ID' For USB it tells me 'No MCU found' and on Serial it always says 'ttyS0', this doesnt change if there is no USB connection to the printer so I assume this is a dud signal.
      I'm looking down the route of getting a Pi Zero 2 W just to tinker and test but I'd ideally like to have this as an option too and so am greatly looking forward to your video, I'm sure im just doing something silly at this point.

It's a total waste of time, I have no end of systems and NEVER has this worked over the last 10 years +, I don't know why people ( attempt ) to use this in installation videos where you are on edge getting everything up and running, your mind is here there everywhere, and then the great .local brick wall. WHY not just give the IP info and at least you get them going and they can smash their head against the .local nightmare while they are now calmly printing something. Here's another suggestion for how to make your videos / channel better. Whenever you say something, like saying you're going to do X, cut that dialogue, and show you doing X instead. The literary rules is Show, don't tell. I think it's better to say, always show anything you wanted to tell us. Another suggestion: you have a high-energy intro, and then you start talking. Your voice is somewhat passive, and lower in volume than the level your intro is set at. If your lead-in is going to be low-key, you could set it up with a low-key intro, or, keep the intro, and dive in with the same energy.

    Please pardon the coffee-infused thinking this morning: another thing you might consider is dating your videos. For example, in the above video (Part 1 of yur KIAUH / Klipper install series), you're sing the Pi Imager version 1.7.1, but the Pi Imager I have is 1.7.3, so, there are additional choices on that fill-in page now. But your video doesn't address them. I'm assuming they're not on your version? If you said something, like, "This video uses the Pi Imager version 1.71, if you have a different version, your form might look different," that might help people deal with the confusion when they see what you're doing, and what's on their screen doesn't jive with it.

      @@Rolohaun Here's a question for you: Do you see yourself as a video editor, or are you an engineer, or something like that who presents information with videos? I'm asking because I think of myself as an editor, and if you don't, I'd be willing to help you. My work is on TH-cam: th-cam.com/play/PLY94cefXeutK6v38iFffCVgQPFhjYpENe.html
