Elaria was not given anything to work with past season 5 and neither were the sand snakes. They literally had eighth grade level lines
Indira is a fantastic actress, sadly I agree she wasn't given good lines or direction from the showrunners. Her last scene with Lena was actually good though.
@@rsync9490it’s sad though Dorne was done so dirty but then again what do you expect from showrunners that don’t even understand the world of a song of ice and fire and wanted to adapt it because they were looking forward to shooting stuff like the red wedding because all they wanted to do was shock the audience instead of telling a good story and developing the characters more.
Dorn in general had nothing to work with.
They butchered that plot line.
Yep, IMO they really did those ladies dirty
@@rsync9490 yeah she definitely has amazing terror faces
I mean, Tommen is supposed to be bland and unmemorable right? So the actor did a good job
Dean Charles Chapman is the actor and yes he played Tommen exactly as intended. Also, for Tommen's death scene, Dean fell ~15 feet face first onto an air mattress 30 times to get the scene right. He said afterwards, his face was numb. If that ain't dedication, I don't know what is.
Yeah, I agree wi5h the list except with tomen.
Tommen??
@@JamesNeasham😅😅😅
Dean was outstanding in 1917
This list is truly awful
It's from what culture, I expected nothing less. They make terrible lists across everything they do
Seems pretty spot on to me minus Tommen
As in awfully wrong? I've never really felt anyone was bad in that show. Maybe everyone wasn't stellar but not bad.
This list is shit 💩💩💩
@@dwightyboy5324 Not as bad as Watchmojo! Lol
The fact that the dope who played Euron isn't even on the list says a lot about the list.
The actor that played Euron was alright; problem was the writers changed his character from a badass pirate lord into a goofy biker.
That's not fair, the actor himself was disappointed with the way Euon was written, not his fault DnD already gave up when he came on set.
I don't believe Pilou could even play Euron even if given the proper direction. He doesn't seem to have the ability to be sinister. He is charismatic, but in a more pirates of the Carribean type of way and he would be great for that franchise no doubt. He was a miscast for Euron.
It's not really the actors' fault. It was the script
@@TheEthernyDidn't he say that he came up with the line "finger in the bum" tho?
I thought the first actor who played the Mountain had the perfect look for the character, plus wasn't he in a single scene with little to no dialogue?
"SWORD!" and that's it lol
Totally agreed
@sauwensvk7589 So bad, get him off my screen! Lol
@@sauwensvk7589 and my axe!
Yea what the hell are they talking about lol. Dude was legit 7 ft and over 300 pounds. Had the perfect look too.
I really like the first Dario Naharris. He was charming but there was sth a bit unsettling about his quiet demeanor that kept me on edge, wondering if we could completely trust in the guy
I described him as a human snake hybrid lol
his replacement was about as compelling and interesting as hotdog water
Omg totally agree with all this. I'm actually in S7 of rewatching GoT now before I dive into the new season of Hotd but I was just thinking how much more I liked this first guy.
The original Dario was badass and the replacement was trash
Yes!! Absolutely! I loved the first actor. They could’ve at least find someone who looked more like him for the actor replacement. The second actor was blah
It wasnt on the actresses that played Ellaria and the Sandsnakes, it was D and D that scripted utter shit and destroyed the Dornish plotline.
Writing dnt matter it's their face3
@veeyan6882 It is hard to give a good performance when you're given complete bollocks to work with.
@@veeyan6882how the fuck does someone competently act when they get lines like “you want da good girl, but da bad pussy” like her even saying the lines without laughing or quitting is impressive
Oh it was on them alright. They were utterly bereft of talent. Even an average actor can inject _some_ personality into a poorly written character. These idiots were just terrible across the board.
@@carlmanvers5009 The Sand Snake actors are all known outside of that show. They're good. It really was the shit writing.
If you have an actress like Indira Varma or Gwendolyn Christie show up on a ‘bad’ list, they are likely NOT the problem.
The first Dario was amazing. The second Dario had no substance. They replaced the first one because he was too charismatic and they clearly wanted Dario to have a smaller role in the series. A lot of these other choices are also because they either had no screen time (The Mountain in Season 1), or had abysmal writing (Sand Snakes/Ellaria). Idk how you evaluate any of those actors.
Uh what? I agree that the first Dario was better but he was recast because he had scheduling conflicts with Deadpool. Same reason Conan Stevens (the original mountain) left so he could work on the Hobbit.
That too charismatic is kinda pushing it 😂
I agree, thought he was better than the 2nd Dario
The first Dario was good looking. He’s not a good actor. Haha and no actor ever got fired for an over abundance of charisma. “This guy is too good at acting. We gotta pull him.”
@@TheAbominableDrFaustus I disagree, his acting was quite good for the show. He was much, MUCH more believable as a hardened character who was cocky and sure of himself. The replacement was a snooze fest. The original actor seemed believably in love with himself lmao. It felt like very legitimate vanity for someone like him in that type of "riches and glory" era.
Minor actors should not be on the list, if so all the Mountain actors were awful and should take the top spots. Tommen was “blah” but then again he was inevitably compared to Joffrey who stole the show.
Yeah. I think people just didn't understand the fact that he was supposed to be a kid and not like his parents or brother. He seemed out of place in that family but like... That was the point.
@@plzleavemealone9660 The problem is that Tommen in the books is a small child, the show character was already like 13 and was acting like he was 8. Way too naive and soft.
@@nostalgicbliss5547noo I don’t believe so once he got with Maergery he turned into a 13 year old. But he just lost his brother he was conflicted. But he was a prisoner of his mother. She never paid him any attention it was all on Joffrey. And I agree with one commenter here it’s kinda hard to compete with Joffrey that dude put on the show of the century!
Also actors whose characters were destroyed by terrible writers
The cross-section of human beings that look like the mountain and can act does not exist. No one gets to be 7ft tall and 350+lbs while also being a thespian. Hafthor was good enough for the limited role he had to play.
I thought the Lancel character was good, it really showed an evolution of his character
I think he was very competently played, Sansa and Daenerys both have scenes that play way worse than any of his. It was nothing special, but not bad.
YESS! I completely agree! He was really good! From snobby bumbling idiot teenager to a cold hard cultist. He was very good. I liked his character.
Agreed.
I think shae actually did a really good job I loved how protective she was of Sansa
Same!
Brienne, Xaro and Loras shouldn’t be on there
Loras absolutely should be here, dudes a fucking horrid actor
@@coreyrees840he’s not so bad but his looks did very well for his character and he really went for it in his scenes with Renly. He was believable lol
Xaro kinda sucked. He was boring.
he plays a gay knight, i think he did an alright job.@@coreyrees840
Xaro, the race-swapped congoid.
I mean the actresses of both Elaria and Tyene can play well, just the script was bullshit. I mean hell, even Peter Dinklages performance in the later seasons wasnt really good.
Even amazing actors can only do so much with a shit script.
I think Jessica Henwick is the best actress of the 3 in show sisters. She's literally the only reason the crap show Iron Fist had a 2nd season.
The sand snakes were victims of bad writing, not bad acting.
they dont look like real wariors. Too much comedy.
Nah, Tyene’s actress was atrocious. She can’t act for shit
I agree
The first Dario was leaps and bounds better than the second one.
like he was incredibly good, the second one was sooo boring and generic
Fr i don't understand the take, first Daario had so much personality and mastered the art of the smirk
Second Dario was a skinny handsome guy who wasn't the perfect guy for the role
And he was great in DEADPOOL TOO! The creator of this video is nuts to say he was terrible!! 🤨 NUTS.
Second Dario was a good actor just a bad casting
We forgot Ed Sheeran and his soldier buddies.
OMG I really really have forgotten about that!!!!😅
The first Mountain was fantastic. What? He was the only believable one lmao. And the first Dario genuinely felt like someone from the time period and was way better. Euron and the Sandsnakes should be the top ones on this list.
Yeah that Daario one doesn't make sense. I'm guessing people felt threatened by his looks. That's so common these days. It's like being pretty is a crime.
First Dario 10000% better!!
Another 1st Dario supporter! And yess he looked and felt like someone genuinely from that time period. You noticed when he was in the room. He had chemistry with Emily. Even his smile wasn’t perfect he could be a warrior second son. The second one was so basic. And the Mountain barely spoke. He really was a Mountain!
@@yoshihorror1948a million light years better!!
@@gratefulguy4130yup!! That right there! He may have stolen some fanfare from some other actors. BUT at least with his believable look and being pretty would have made the audience feel something for what was between Dario and Daenerys. I could have cared less when she left the second one in Mereen. I believe he’s found other work and I’ve heard he’s phenomenal in Stranger Things.
Funny that Shea was on the list when Martin said that was his favorite character of the show.
no tf he didn’t 😂😂 you just completely made that up
no, that's true. he did say that.
@jerraddennis2225 funny, you could've easily looked it up and seen that it's actually true, but instead you decided to be lazy and just call someone a liar. Great decisions 👏🏽
@@thechosenonetim7738 shut up. you’re a weirdo.
Ive dated women like Shae. I thought she played the role very well
Even Indira Varma can't act her way out of bad writing. Ironically, they kept her on screen coz of her acting skills, Ellaria would have already been out after the trial.
Also, the Shae actress actually made the character more human, she was COLD in the books. I dunno what they were thinking when they wanted Shae to be warm.
Also keep in mind that Sibel who played Shae couldn’t really communicate in English when she stared shooting. She is a German native speaker and her English skills were really limited. I think she did a terrific job when you take into consideration that she had a hard time understanding her co stars and the directors
- what accent is that?
- ...foreign...
😅😅😅
The sandsnakes 😭 "You want a good girl, but you need..." I'll never forgive D&D for this bs
Omfg ikr! WTF kinda writing is that 😭😭
that line makes me physically ill every time i hear it 😂😂
I liked the first Daario, he's more in line with his book counter part. 2nd Daario was boring.
The first Dario was MILES better than that bum they replaced him with who looked NOTHING like the first guy. Didn’t even try with the recasting
This list stinks. Gwendolyn set up Brienne for a lovely character arc and carried it through. The first Dario was a young Fabio and was replaced by some millennial grabbed off the studio street. Tommen fantastically foiled Joffrey’s cruelty with his sweet naïveté.
But i loved gwendoline as Brianne she was awesome. And the scene with elaria, her daughter with cersei broke my heart
IMO good choice, only reasonable complaint that she is not ugly (but Tyrion also is too handsome compared to books)
I feel like anyone mentioned in the later seasons doesn't count. When you think about what kind of dialogue the actors had to work with later seasons uhhhh. Yeah I don't care how good an actor you are. There's no way you can say the line "You want the good girl but you need the bad hooha." and have people take you seriously after that.
That’s a good point but Euron had terrible writing and also was not a good actor to play Euron Crow’s Eye.
I searched for someone mentioning that line, thanks.
The middle school lines were awful. Trion can't get enough dick jokes and I recall there was even some fart humor. Just terrible what they did
I vehemently disagree with this list.
I think Tommen was actually acted well.
Worst characters or actors?
Performancea
Worst characters. Sibel Kekili is an amazing actress. She can play "warmth", she obviously wasn't directed to.
@RoonMian it seems the website is talking about actors since their only complaint about Shae was with the talent of the actress (which is bullshit in my opinion because that actress made me care about a charecter who in the books is nothing more than a teenager in way over her head)
I personally think loras and Shae were perfectly cast. Even the actor who plays loras looks like loras from the books. I also don't know why Euron isn't number one on this list. The sand snakes could each be on the list. Also Brianne shouldn't be on this list at all.
Agree with everything you said.
I LOVED Tommen! His sweetness and naivety seemed so gentle and pure!!
The worst casting was the second Daario. He reminded me of nothing the book described.
I liked the first Dario!!
My jaw went to the floor when he appeared he was fantastic! It was like they killed off a character when they replaced him!
Whoa!
Daario mk1 Ed Skrein was FAR BETTER that the Plank of Wood that replaced him
Ed Skrein's daario could clearly get the ladies wet, plank boy not so much
Personally I absolutely love Ed Skrein as Daario Naharis. I haven't read the books, but a leader for a band of bad ass mercenaries should be someone who makes you feel uneasy. Ed made me feel uneasy. Apparently Daario fancied Daenerys, but you never knew for certain if it would all change in an instant and would kill everyone. There was a threatening aura around that guy.
Then suddenly we got the Patrick Dempsey simp version, who just felt like the most supportive lapdog ever. That guy was not a leader of the Seven Sons, I can tell you that
Once they changed Daario I stopped paying attention to the character. They literally changed him to a guy that looked nothing like the first guy, acted nothing like him either. You literally couldn't have two people be so different in their look and portrayal of the same character.
@@nostalgicbliss5547 Strange choice. They often introduced new characters this way, so I just assumed it was a completely different character for a long time, until I realized
The second guy to play Daario is the hottest man on the entire show so idc if he sucks lol
@@samsamsam446 Haha, good point! A fan of Patrick Dempsey, I see. I do think both of them have some hotness about them, but I definitely can understand why Dempsey would have wider appeal
@@samsamsam446well I’ll respect your opinion but first Dario was smokin hot! But I have a thing for men with long hair!
Ian Whyte was the second Gregor in season two at Harrenhall.
Conan Stevens was the first Gregor. 7 ft tall and built like a pro wrestler. Best Gregor physically, I say.
Woooooow, wtf!? The First Dario was just perfect for the role and the second Just.......
Wtf Brienne was great in season 2
A few people here are just there because of the writing, but I'll say Lancel was written well and played well. Loras sucked as Iron Fist though
Agreed justice for Lancel! I really enjoyed his performance!
Nah ed skiern was great in deadpool
What Culture is pretty terrible now tbh, so they cannot call anyone out lately.
I disagree!
The first actor playing Dario was rather fascinating & highly
convincing. Pity that he had other
engagements & opportunities.
He held his own quite well.
The first Dario was definitely more intimidating and off putting, which is how he is the books. He also just looks like he would be a leader of the second sons. Second Dario does not, he's just generic hot guy #3407 who likes Dany. First Dario could have been so good, it's too bad they scrapped him
The actors who play sansa and jon snow are probably worse than half this list and they keep getting high profiled roles in Hollywood somehow.
Sansa actress is talented
E Clark is pretty but bad at acting as well
There's a reason why they never act in oscar worthy movies 😅
@@johnsteelman3397 Nah Emilia was great as Deanerys.
Sansa was a good fit so was Jon
The Elaria Sand actress Imara Varma is very good - she just didn't have the script - ditto the Sand snakes I think.
that was Conan Stevens not Ian white..
The worst was the 2nd Mountain
He looked like just a random soldier of Lannister's army with zero evil vibe 😅
Better than Haffnor if you ask me, he just had very low screen time. He was also played the giants.
@@furkans.9749 No he wasn't. He had the voice, but nothing else. The third mountain at least had the frame.
@@nostalgicbliss5547 Ian Whyte doesnt have frame? He is bigger than Haffnor (not thicker but considerably taller), check out his pictures on google.
Number 1 for me: Kit Harrington. The guy has one facial expression over the whole show and in other movies he stars in as well.
Constipated muh queen
The good thing was that by last season, they managed to give him the two lines he could land and had him repeat them all season . "I don't want it. She's my queen". Constipated puppy face.
Worst actor is the one who played Urine Greyjoy
Really weird he wasn’t mentioned, right? Some of these were bad writing more than bad actors. He was terrible for both.
@@TheAbominableDrFaustushe wasn't terrible for both,
@@zherean42069 I’m open to hearing other people out but what specifically about his writing or delivery did you enjoy? He’s basically not even the same character as the books. Granted, the issues with his performance might be from bad direction more than he’s inherently a bad actor but I was not personally a fan.
Yeah, that guy was a real pisser.
@@tedwojtasik8781😂😂
The sand actress with the short hair? Bro you should check out the jail cell scene where bronn is dying from poison.
I definitely was thinking that while watching this. She’s far and away the best Sand Snake. Ha even if that’s faint praise.
What about it it was trash
@@veeyan6882and you are the garbage can
@@veeyan6882 T*ts are trash?
the final Gregor Clegane was awful. His only advantage was that he was huge. But he couldn't deliver a line, and couldn't do the fight choreography.. He looked like a beginner
Loras, Elaria, Brienne and Lancel? ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?! I’m blocking this channel. Lancel was given sh*t in season fine and was brilliant before that point and I won’t even bother to comment on the other 3 because you guys are clearly insane and wouldn’t understand anyway.
If all the sand snake actresses got the top spot, I get the feeling it was probably a directorial problem rather than all of them being incompetent
Ellaria and Loras were great!
Whoever played shae is legit the WORST actress on the show. She just sucks
Well she was, to put it politely, an adult film actress.
I was happy when lilman took h3r out
Shes the only one that should be put on the list lol, her and sand snakes
And yet George Martin himself praised her portrayal of Shae. He even singled her out as the character he liked more in the show than in his own books.
@@MLennholm His hand was in his pants watching one of her vids when he made that comment
Bro the first Darrio was PERFECT. He was menacing, gritty, and you believed he wouldnt take shit from anyone but could still hold his own. He was perfect. The second actor was a weird pretty boy.
Make your own list of weakest performances based on acting ability instead of the dialogue they were given
Missandei should be on that list, boring character on the show. Lancel was okay. And I actually preferred the first Daario. The rest were on point though.
Mussandei ? She was gr8 she's in fast furious as wellshes cool, lancel is cring3 even as iron fist he still hard to watch
I like when tommen took the express out of the tower
That was good but the best was seeing Oberyn get rekt
It didn't help that Indira didn't get to show that her character was emotionally complex- in the books she grieves Oberyn's death, but accepts the Lannisters' 'gesture' - more importantly, she doesn't want to lose her daughters to vengeance. That's why Doran admires her so much.
ShowEllaria is some weird mashup of Ellaria, Arianne, & f*cking Darkstar...
Keisha Castle-Hughes is actually a talented actress (she was one of the sand snakes) but they gave her nothing to work with.
I liked the first daario more. I thought he was more interesting. I also didn't think he was terrible in deadpool
Actors who played Sansa and Arya were also quite bad. Kit as Jon was quite bad in the initial stages but then he became quite good. The initial seasons had Sean Bean, Mark Addy etc who were phenomenal actors but by the end the acting talent of the remaining actors were not that good
You can't blame the actors for poor writing. Look at Jon Snow's lines from the last season. It was a disaster, and I'm glad those idiots aren't writing House of the Dragon.
It’s more of a writing problem D and D gave up after season 4 when GRRM left
This is a rude video. No need to shit on these actors. And the comments mirror this videos vibe. I thought you were better than this.
LOL
You know he didn’t write the list right? He’s just saying this is the ranking What Culture posted and that was what they said.
Bye frlicia
Ed Skrein: Terrible in GOT
Terrible in Deadpool
Terrible in Transporter
Terrible in Rebel Moon
I see a pattern here..............
Most of the cast wasn't that bad, the writing was the problem.
Bran Stark actor in the last two seasons. I get he's a kid and part of it was the writing and the role but man I wanted him off the screen every time he popped up. Can't believe he became king
They’re just naming for the most part poorly written characters or the recasts. Just cause a character sucks doesn’t mean it’s the actor’s fault. And wasn’t the first Mountain actor in literally one scene?
one of the sand snake actress was nominated for oscar tho. how ironic
I genuinely think this list was created to trigger fans because what the hell! I don’t even know where to begin so I won’t.
Blaming actors for bad scripts is so stupid
I wouldn't count anything from the last few seasons. Not fair to the actor.
The worst was Euron imo. In the books he's an eldritch lovecraftian horror, and in the show he's just some guy.
Also, the actor of "Euron" (not Euron actually...what ever that clown pirate in the show was) was a TERRIBLE casting choice for a character supposed to be like a demon and one of the most threatening villains. Euron in the books is extremely smart, calculating, god-wannabe, extremely dangerous and unpredictable, unpleasant to work with, with a dark hot temper that he conceals with charisma.
Even without Dumb & Dumber's script, the actor they picked for their fanfiction "Euron" isn't threatening in the slightest. He just feels like a normal sane good guy trying hard to act like a psycopath and failing at it. TV "Euron" is annoying, a man-child, a generic bad guy, and he's as threatening as Lord Janos Slynt. No wonder, show onlies picked Ramsay as the most terrifying (and show Ramsay's a generic funny thug compared to book Ramsay), when book Euron and book Roose are way scarier and more dangerous than Ramsay, who's just a brute. Also, book Rorge was a demon in the books too...too bad the show basically cut him and made him an unthreatening loser, when he wipes out entire settlements brutally.
How is Grey Worm not on this list? Easily the worst performance in the show.
I'll fight anyone that says the first Daario was a bad actor. He was the perfect combination of arrogance and creepy.
Nr 1 Should be the second Dario, he was a downgrade form the first one and all his scenes were boring
The worst actors were the writers in Season 8.
I appreciate that’s she’s doing this and being honest about this, but she refuses to accept responsibility and talks in circles to justify herself.
The actor of Jamie Lannister was the worst, but that was a problem with the casting. He was supposed to be the best swordsman in the whole Seven Kingdoms, but the actor is very, very awkward with a sword. Look at any fighting scene he is in before his capture. If you are supposed be the best X almost half of the show, and you are just awful with every move, you are not doing a great job.
Also, the actor of Harald Kaastark is not winning any prizes any time soon.
Could it be that D & D told him to act realistic when portraying a guy who lost his good sword hand
@@yaboiblackweeb1714 I am talking about his fighting before his capture. The capture led to a series of events, including losing his sword hand. The first season has him fighting at his best, and since the actor is what he is, the fight scenes were pitiful.

This. I am saying this for years. That dude was really bad at choreographies…like really bad.
NOONE in GoT was a bad actor, esp not Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand) or Nonso Anozie (Daro). You’re only as good as the material & direction you’re given. Indira was EXCELLENT in “Rome” & Nonso is fantastic in “Sweet Tooth.” We’ll go on what we’ve seen elsewhere rather than a bunch of nerds ranking actors behind a computer screen
Euron sucked too and I find the first Daario Naharis actor to be much more intriguing than the second one
The first Drio naharris was way much better than the second one 😊
I preffered the 1st Dario more than the 2nd.
The first dario was perfect for the role as far as a seducer of denyrus. The second dario just was as believable as the first as far as attracting denyrus. Overall i was like steve Buscemi in Fargo, saying " who the F are you?".🤣💯👍🏾
Lancel, the first Dario, Loras and Brienne should NOT be anywhere NEAR this list.
George Martin said that Shae was a better character in the show because of the actress who played her.
The guy at #2 was also horrible as the Iron Fist. All the other Defenders characters were cool, he was horrific.
Isn't Shay really cold in the books? And they critique talking about wanting her to be warmer???
#4 would fit Jaqen H'ghar's image that is much closer to how I imagined him in the books. Having a sort of mischievous smirk and piercing eyes that seem much more dangerous than the rest of his currently assumed younger-looking exterior, almost like it's the one quality he can't hide.
Jaqen was the best
NO!!! these actors were 100% perfect, shae was more than perfect!! Bc she was acting from real life experience, blame the terrible writing not the actors.
“The number one worst actor goes to 3 different actors”
The first Daario was better than the second one. Easy
Conan stevens was the original mountain
I think the website What Culture should be on the top of the list of worst pop culture websites.
By far the worst was Euron
Disagree with the entire list. Most of the problems were not the actors but the postions the actors were in. The entire Dorne plot was dropped. Once Barriston died & they deviationed from the books they basically cut 2 years off the show. Many episodes were wasted in favor of showing potty humor over substance. I can find 8 hours of film that could have been reshot for different plot points & then having a full 8th season would have been better & also GRRM was right - you needed 10 seasons to do it all.
HOLLY HELL! That hidden blade was fuckin sick
The reasoning for Shae makes sense. Her demeanor was a little too stiff and cold to have melted Tyrion's heart.
I don't understand all of them though. Loras may not have blown anyone out of the water, but he played the part serviceably, as did most of the actors.
