    IMF is not killing Pakistans economy, our economy was murdered by our Generals who never allowed consistency in civilian Govt and were always meddling with Govt affairs and secondly our politicians who are jokers and have no clue how to run and manage a country, given the chance I wont even hire Shahbaz Sharif or Maryam or Bilawal for the post of peon in my office and we have given them the biggest offices , and lastly borrowing unnecessarily without transparency be that CPEC or any other project, so lets not blame our incompetency on IMF.

      Sorry to say but blaming others has been the basic foundation of Pak. Actually, IMF never came to Pak requesting to take loans. Pak has been asking for the loan money from everybody without realizing that it has to be returned. Now Pak is not able to afford even the payment of interest on loans.

But in the same breath, he applauded the geniuses in the bureaucracy who are the very pinnacle of elite capture.

    Great insight. This is the type of discussion that we need; it's not just one sectior or one entity who is messing up the country; it's we as a society as a whole that are mesed up and require drastic changes such as education, law and order, the justice system, government entities, people in power, replacing old with new, the defense sector, etc. All of them require a complete overhaul to shift the economy graph towards upwards to move forward in the right direction. We can't bring change with just the right fiscal policies, in short.

    That was an insightful session. The animosity towards those running large businesses prevents us from forming joint ventures with major international companies, which is why they are choosing to invest in countries like India and Vietnam instead. This mindset must change because these big businesses have the potential to significantly boost our GDP and create more jobs. The future of our country depends on successful individuals, like Shahzad Saleem, stepping up to take leadership roles in the government and establishing a 10-year strategy for progress.

    • @saadkhattak5465
      @saadkhattak5465 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      yes, but when inflation is high, or economic stability is not seen, then currency devalues, even if the interest rate is high. This is because the prices of goods keep increasing. So even if the interest rate is high, the prices of goods have become so expensive that it does not make a difference. E.g., if I offer to give you an interest rate of 18 on your 100 Rs, but the prices of goods have gone up from 100 to 120, then what difference would it make. Despite the increased interest rate, you still can afford same amount of goods, maybe less if the inflation keeps on increasing. This is what I understand. I maybe wrong.

    Good insight. Our problems are very complex. Major issues are FBR reformation, IPP'S and high interest rates Elite culture is to go. 😢

    Muzamil Hasan Salam to you, This or these comments are uttered/written not out of malice but to help us understand you a little better (selfish, perhaps) it is, what it is. We are not in a race of speed, slow down a little in your speech, your eagerness to convey the message to the audience is beyond belief.
    I know you want to tell people millions of things in such a short time. Think of us as well, Thanks
    Waslam.

    One more important point. A lot of the SRO and law books on Customs law are intentionally never printed. Tariq Najeeb Law Publishers have a monopoly sponsored by touts of Customs so you and I can not even hope of fighting with unfair evaluations.

    Great point, when IMF is not allowing us to subsidize electricity - which is essentially going to help the economy, there making us take loans for developments in places that don’t have a ripple down effect and increase our competitiveness in industries we excel in agriculture and textile - therefore we can’t bring in enough foreign reserves - to make things cheaper when importing - and when this is clearly the policy - most of our exports are clearly going to service debts - our government has to print more to pay these exporters which increases circular inflation
