One thing every economist has missed is our population growth. The world population increased 3 times during last 70 years. Pakistan’s population increased 6 times during same period. No country in the has gained prosperity by increasing her population at this rate. We can never be self sufficient in anything be it food or energy etc. unless we bring down our population growth rate from present 1.5% to 0.5% or preferably to negative. No IMF injections or Chinese assistance is going to help us.

Well to be honest that's not the case actually. People outside of Pakistan always think that Maulvis are using people or governments but the reality is different. State is using these Maulvis but not at a scale which you think of. They are not as much powerful as you think of them. It's just a myth which India has created, The real and core issue is that State of Pakistan is not clear in their decisions . And by state I mean the establishment not the government. Governments and political parties have much clarity and vision to where to move and how to move but the problem is Establishment after every several years topple the Governments through different tactics, causing instability and indecisiveness. Your argument is lame here, Software cannot be mainstay of economy like India. Hedge against oil dollars don’t help the poorest of the poor. 250 billion dollars of Software exports have helped only the top 10% of the country and I’m stretching it. If software exports were so great our per capita income wouldn’t be so low 1/6th of China. Mass employment can only be provided by industrial exports which will spur the economy as a whole. Most economists even India agree with this gentleman in this regard, he’s right.

Your argument is lame here, Software cannot be mainstay of economy like India. Hedge against oil dollars don’t help the poorest of the poor. 250 billion dollars of Software exports have helped only the top 10% of the country and I’m stretching it. If software exports were so great our per capita income wouldn’t be so low 1/6th of China. Mass employment can only be provided by industrial exports which will spur the economy as a whole. Most economists even India agree with this gentleman in this regard, he’s right.
