I was one of the guys that installed this machine. What an amazing team that Titan has at his shop. I've been doing this job for 24 years and one thing I can say is this group has something in common. One word to say about what they are doing...... Passion! After being in this facility my passion level has increased and what they are doing with the Academy and CNC Expert is great for this industry. Thanks Titan and keep doing what you are doing for our industry.

Heller machines are some of the best for high volume production. A lot of what my company makes doesn't have the tolerancing to utilize Heller machines at their price point, but we do have a bunch at at least one of our facilities. I've made some fixtures for them before, though the machines being used were the machines with the built-in hydraulic table couplers, which is perfect because you completely avoid ever getting chips (in this case aluminum) into your hydraulic pump tank which can cause a ton of problems.

One small thing about what travis said about the air hose, by doubling the diameter of a hose, you actually square the flow rate given the same pressure because surface area of a cross-section squares.

Minor correction, at .57 the statement going from 1/4" to 1/2" air fittings doubles your air capacity is incorrect. It is over 5X more..!
    1/4" @ 120PSI 50' of line the CFM is around 5.8
1/2" @125PSI 50' of line the CFM is around 32.8
So, doubling the line size will increase the air flow by over 5 times!
Going from 1/4" to 3/8" over doubles your flow rate. (5.8 to 11.2)
Most folks use Milton M series fittings, I've switched to V series as the flow rate is over 50% more (for 3/8" hose, not 1/4").
    Love this channel!

    Hey Titan and Co,
A while back, Titan came on one of the videos and asked for the most challenging projects. He asked to send them to an email address, which I can't find any more. But I think I've found a way to challenge you guys to the extreme. There are two things that I won't believe you can do until I see them. The first challenge: using any form of steel, create a 12 inch record out of it that can be played - more than once without being damaged - and includes at least half an hour of music. It has to be stereo (extra challenge!) and it has to have full frequency range (20-20000 Hz) and a noise floor of less than -50 dB. I'm an audio engineer, I can help you do this. This would require immense precision in all three axes, while machining out an extremely thin channel into metal. The second challenge: create a hologram by machining it into steel. No ifs and buts - it's doable! Well, in theory it is... You would have to be insanely, incredibly precise with this one.
Both challenges are way outside your comfort zone... I want to see if you can do it.

@@markmall7142 there are always reasons why a manufacturer uses a specific brand of machine, and in my experience a large part of that is operator experience. As he said, there're a lot of plants that have like 100 machines just from heller, and they almost never try any other brand. ZF has several plants in the DACH-Region, Some of them have over 150 Hüller-Hille, a direct competitor to Heller. Heller and others such as Starrag tried to get them to switch while Hüller-Hille couldn't deliver machines, they basically gifted them a couple machines. ZF still went back to Hüller-Hille because they had problems they never encountered before and the operators hated the other makes.
