@benpency how is it possible that you not notice that he's obviously using the plains to represent the slimes? He literally says it at the beginning, and then proceeds to use them as creatures for the rest of the game.
Whatever charlie was trying to do when he "ran out of mana" he couldve done, bear umbra is when a creature attacks, so as soon as attacks are declared you untap your lands, so its actually even better to tap all your lands, declare your attacks then you have whatever you havent used floating, and get to untap then play on
But he needed to play it before the combat step, Xenegos only matters for combat, so entrapping during combat to play and enchantment wouldn’t really help in this situation. But if it was most other cards, you’re totally correct.
Mana empties from the pool as steps and phases and so for instant speed stuff this is absolutely correct, like casting titans strength and then untapping to follow up with Become Immense or something else similar
@tylerdavis9605 pretty sure he was trying to buff since he already moved to combat so I assumed instant, but yeah for anything at sorcery speed for sure
I love the channel and what you guys do but definitely should get a judge on site as some of these misplays are game changing in a significant way. Especially if newer players are coming in to watch this will confuse them in the long run and could hurt their experience. Again love the videos and keep it up but would love to either see judge or shock collars
At 33:00 Charlie could have cast Xenagos, attacked and untapped the lands, then activate rogue’s passage before moving to declare blockers Also assault suit means its controller can’t be attacked by the equipped creature, so the goal of knocking 2 players out with that swing wasn’t supposed to happen anyway.
38:38 “imagine you can take his artifacts and put them on captain america. if i understand correctly, he CAN do that. Captain America says in his catch ability, “artifacts you CONTROL” it says nothing about own, and at that moment, he did control the artifacts connected to iron man
Doesn't assault suit say the equipped creature can't attack the owner or planeswalkers they control? So Drew shouldn't have been able to be attacked by Iron Man
I really appreciate the casual vibe and love for the game here. Reminds me of my play group. Been playing since a young lad and at the end of the day it’s all about having fun 🤘💜
Captain America isn't the first card to get his pips in red, white, and blue order. They do it pretty randomly. Zedruu, the Greathearted also has R,W,B pips.
Storm and ripple are both cast triggers I’m pretty sure so at 30:57 he definitely could’ve still stormed off the original slime after getting all the ripple cast triggers off of thrumming stone. Would’ve been a whole lot more slimes
23:40 they make a joke about Ultron "famously" attacking iron man in the comics, but Hank pym actually created Ultron and was who Ultron revolted against
guys.... I know its just a game and ultimately this stuff doesn't matter and it's just for entertainment...... but like bro.... there are so many misplays and mulligans and redo and missed triggers and things that would massively change the outcome of the game or even how each person plays from turn to turn. You REALLY need a a judge, maybe off screen, just keeping track of everything. I can't even watch cause it's just so egregious
Next time you play with 5 you should do "star", where the players to your right and left are "allies" and the two players across from you are your enemies. You win whenever your two enemies are dead. So there is usually 2 winners. Kinda fun for politics
Can we get a redo without a stupid gimmick build for Storm and Black Panther and actually reading what Assault Suit and basically half the other cards do. Just completely dumb episode, for such cool commanders.
Thrumming stone shouldn't have done anything at 27:20 he cast a slime against humanity, so thrumming stone is only looking for more slime against humanity cards. So you can't keep switch with cards have the same name. Also you don't cash lands you play then so even if you did play a land hitting the same land does nothing.
@@jaebinsotelo7082 It was mentioned at the start of the video, but the plains lands were stand-ins for slimes against humanity. This was done because they don't have enough copies of the cards
@@umbooka3322 yes, but if you untap when you attack, you can still activate rogues passage with that mana before blockers are declared. at least im pretty sure you can.
Also about 33 minutes, Wolverine absolutely could've gotten Rogue's-d alongside Revels, by playing out Revels, swinging Wolverine to untap the lands, then activating rogue's passage
17:30 Why isn't he keeping track of the storm count if he's playing a storm deck? You can make a mistake easily if you don't keep track. 37:38 What is this random untapping of Wolverine? I don't get it. There doesn't seem to be any rules to this game. People sac stuff, look through their library and then suddenly decide, nope, not going to do that.
Everyone is talking about the assault vest but the guys also forgetting that even though Xenagos isn't a creature it still does its effect + the fight rigging on combat so Charlie could have gotten Wolverine to 8/8 for the turn even if its tapped to trigger the Hideaway. He skipped an entire combat for no reason and no one said a word.
1:21 for anyone confused about ripple when he reveals plains, I also didn't see this part and was extremely confused, I wish they'd have edited this in or used a different proxy that is more close to slime against humanity instead of just plains. Hell I think a backwards card would have been better b/c it immediately jumps out as obviously not an actual card. I get that white is not legal in that color identity but with 5 commanders it's easy to lose track of who is in what colors.
Does the legendary rule kick in the moment iron man was given to Aron? He already controlled a copy of mithrill coat, so he should have had to choose one to keep and destroy the other.
First, the drew switched to sacrificing the Mithril Coat to fetch the Assault Suit with Iron Man's ability because the sacrificed artifacts mana value needed to be 3 to get the suit which costs 4 so it wasn't attached to Iron Man anymore. Second, even if Mithril Coat were still attached the Assault Suit only passes control of Iron Man not the equipment attached to him. They are still attached and give him buffs but Drew controls them. He was passing them around with Iron Man so each person who got control of him could see what buffs he had technically they would still be on his field. That's why no one could sacrifice the equipment to Iron Man's ability. Side note, no one should have been able to attack Drew with his own commander while it was being passed around with assault suit, they didn't read the card closely enough and missed that part.
can he tap wolverine with mjolnir if wolverine was already tapped? Also, Assault suit dammit!!!! Charlie playing permanents while on combat gave me anxiety.
Wouldn't it storm mean that each "slime against humanity" is copied that certain amount of times? Meaning that the last one to resolve would be copied over 20 times, meaning that he has over 20 slimes made that turn that have power toughness over 20?
I’m excited to see captain america. I don’t want it to be the usual Voltron style win con but it’s still interesting to see other deck builds. Also, I did buy 30 slime against humanity for my deck lol. Should’ve proxied it
I feel they should build their own decks. I feel its just not a good deck if the player isnt the one who built it. a deck has so much personality when its built by the player

@jacksonbakker9060 i read you bud, but. They do have time, it doesnt really take long. Just some here and there building. They learn, like charlie should be making his own decks
I love how they didnt realise that Assault Suit makes it so it cant attack the creature's Owner xD
This is honestly so funny and is such a classic SkillCheck moment

Roll back the board state! Play it again! Alternate ending next episode!
That's what I was coming to say... Gamestate would have been so different.
Seems like we need shock collars again.
The amount of misplays and just not reading the cards this game were rough.

Shock Collar, AGAIN.
AARON NOT PLAYING BRISTLY BILL?!?! IT’S FUCKING HISTORY IN THE MAKING!!!🤯💀

Shouldn't all of Captain America's throws be commander damage? On the card the throw ability says he does the damage technically
Has to be commander damage is from combat, you wouldn’t be able to like ping someone to death with commander damage from Nekusar for example.
commander damage is only from combat damage, it would be very very broken for it to be any damage the commander does.
