Just watched Furiosa in my home theater last night. 4K Steelbook... I liked this one WAY more than Fury Road. The audio, at least in my opinion, is the best Atmos track I have ever heard. Not only is the audio clean, the attention to every single second of the movie is insane. They use each speaker in your system uniquely. From walking to action, the spatial audio is on point! There have been some good movies in the audio dept. this year, but Furiosa is on an entire different level.
I knew this would be reference quality. Mad Max 4k (2015) to date is still the best Dolby Atmos I have ever heard on a home video disc. Glad this keeps the same spirit going. My copy arrived today. Will watch it when I have some time. (i did watch the movie in theaters already)
It does look pretty good and sound great and I agree I also had to crank it up to a higher volume to achieve the bombastic sound i wanted as well. Like Fury Road which i just watch at home I cranked up to a 9/10 volume level and it was loud and proud. But furiosa i had to put at 12/13 on the same sound system to get the same all around sound to match each movie. Thats fine with me just wanted to mention it like you did in your review.
I've read Miller wanted this to be seen in black and white...I just watched this myself and you can certainly tell the framing, and almost superimposement of certain characters within a environment or scene where meant to starkly stand out for black and white. I think the faulty cgi will be lessened in the black and white version. Cool flick.
Thanks for sharing this review its an awesome Furiosa film seen this in cinemas I can't understand why it didn't do great at the box office. I look forward to the 4k experience on my Dolby Atmos set up.
I watched this a few days ago, easily the best looking 4K I own (out of around 500 4K discs). For the audio, I knew we were in for a big treat from the start with that incredible thunder bike in the opening scene. Also rewatched Fury Road, and while a fantastic movie the picture quality just doesn’t measure up to Furiosa. Upscale vs native 4K and I think the HDR color grading could use some improvement. Maybe we’ll get a Dolby Vision version someday.
No Walmart had any version near me. All the Walmarts in my area don't care about release dates. They never stock movies when they're supposed to be released
I had a good time with this one. Not near the adrenaline rush of Fury Road but Alyla Browne and Anya Taylor Joy did great as Furiosa but Chris Hemsworth was the show stealer for me! I did feel some pacing issues but overall it was an enjoyable return to the wasteland.
Own a LG G3 and briefly a Sony A-95L. The colors on the Sony were unbeliavably good. QD Oled can't be beat. The Sony proccessing is second to none. So why did I return it? Buggy hdmi ports wouldnent reconize my soundbar set up (Vizio 5.1 system) I personally like LG more than Sony. However W-Oled's can't compete in terms of colors against QD-Oled. I Think Lg is a more reliable tv manufacture, like the Web OS operating system and 5 year panel warranty. But if everthing was equal and everthing worked as it should of, I would of kept the A-95L, simply the best picture i've ever seen. It won 2024 King Of Tv's shootout againt the G4 and Samsung S-95D. Just my two cents, if you want the G4 go for it, I still really like my G3 and no issuses/bugs.😊
Had high expectations for this movie after the bad ass fury road, I know prequels can be a bit tricky but I just felt unfulfilled after watching! For me it was the absence of Charlize as Furiosa, Anna is an excellent actress but I felt was wrong for this part... Being a prequel and Charlize out of the question atleast get an actress that resembles Charlize!
Agree, ATJ was good, but Miller should’ve gone with Jodie Comer who was keen to do it. Also an excellent actress and looks more like Charlize in face & build.
There's some part with just bad writing and the ending didn't end in a high note, just a very long talking scene. VFX was a hit and missed in some part.
Yes the worst of the VFX for me that i can recall just now was that crane falling off the cliff during Furiosa's escape with that one guy(sorry i forgot his name) it looked really bad. Like a looney tunes cartoon haha
@@walter2695 i think Jack but who cares lol. The crane was really bad and one moment at gas city when you can see that all the background people in the distant were walking like robots, i had to Rewind for the wife and then whe rewinded that 5 times laughing, that was really bad
The best of the Mad Max franchise.. Mad Max 2. The Road Warrior .. gave the Mad Max franchise its distinct look.. the post apocalyptic imagery .. and NO CGIs just death defying stunt work.. Furiosa was a cartoon . Waste of great acting talents. Too much CGIs.
Just MY ! Humble opinion 🤔. While I would rate Fury Road a 9/10 maybe a 9.5 , Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga I IMHO would rate a 7/10... I remember watching Fury Road several times and all the extras. It's on another level to Furiosa. I do remember them saying Fury Road was a western on wheels and escape movie that morphs intro a chase movie. You Can't compare them as the pace of Fury Road was non stop flat out. Constant driving with great vehicles , stunts the brilliant " Pole Cats ", personally I liked the colour gamut dialled up to 11/10 , just gorgeous. In Fury Road you could hardly take a breath. Furiosa was a lot slower, sure it's a prequel and different story but it's Petrol compared to Jet Fuel. I enjoyed but it did drag at times. As they say in life " each to their own ", I could watch Fury Road again and again but Furiosa maybe a couple times. I just IMHO think it doesn't compare to Fury road it's good but Not Brilliant, well maybe the sound is 👍✌️✌️

I saw this in the theater and the audio was bonkers. One of the most aggressive experiences in the theater and the 4K audio does it justice!
Saw in theaters TWICE, absolutely excited to get my preorder today 🙌

I just watch it on Saturday, and boy i had my speakers 9.4.6 rocking so much fun to see the action in this one...great video
Saw it in the theater twice. Can't wait to pick this one up on 4K Bluray! I can't believe this film didn't do well in the theater.

This Movie, Furiosa. Audio, Sound. Amazing from the beginning bike sound. One of my best movie. Best SOUND!
Great review as always Adam!
Thank you!!!
Not only is this my favorite movie this year, it's the best looking movie I've seen this year.
You mean you liked this better than Borderlands? Lol. Just kidding. Furiosa was the best I've gone to see this year.
@brandonkasper4416 haven't seen borderlands but I actually do like the games.
@austincaldwell8358 the borderlands movie was not that great
I have it just behind twisters but both are brilliant

I enjoyed Furiosa in a movie theater and own the 4K, which just arrived today.
One of the best movies of the year, i got this lovely steelbook

you can ask the electronics section clerk if they have any in the back and they’ll go look. If it’s a major release they’ll most likely have it.
Same, local Walmart does not care about getting things stocked in a timely manner.
@@Frank-sd8xr I would if I can ever find one. There's always one person in charge of the whole section
Sounds normal for Walmart. 🤣🤣🤣

In case of the big studios , Warner bros is definitely the best of the year so far.
excuse me sir, do you not own Mad Max: Fury Road..? and if so, why didn't you slip that steelbook right next to it? I need answers.
Waiting on mine now according to Amazon its 6 stops away
Will buy

Thanks man, i share your opinion. Its not bad, but its not very good either, the cgi party was just too much for me on a unneeded bland prequel.

The images make it look like a 2 hour video game cut scene made into a movie. Everything looks so fake.
Reserve your judgement until you’ve actually watched the film. The artistry in this film is absolutely amazing.
I got mine. Doesn't sound that great. Was better at the theater.
