Nothing brings a smile to my face faster than hearing "The bass response, just like in Fury Road, may cause neighbor inducing panic because it can get pretty crazy!" Hell yeah!
The video is definitely up there in the 9s. I wasn’t able to check out the audio in my home theater but judging from your review I’m glad it sounded great. Definitely a day one physical purchase for me 👍
Shane, thanks for the great review. One of my favorite features of Kaleidescape is being able to purchase new releases several weeks in advance of the physical disc release! I can't wait to crank this one up!
Great video as always. You mentioned the audio is a few db quieter than Fury Road which seems to be the case on disk. Took me about 30 min to realise this. On my system I typically listen to 4k blu ray at -8 but had to turn this up to -5 to get similar levels to other disks (last one I watched was Dune part 2). It has some amazing bass and I'm so pleased they made full use of object based audio. Panning around the bed layer is some of the best I've heard as they've made good use of front wides.
I was one of the few to see it in IMAX apparently and I frickin loved it. Wish it had gotten a 3D conversion as, judging by the cinematography it was obviously intended to be seen in 3D, but it was still killer nonetheless. Definitely picking up the 4K when it drops. Thanks for the review Shane!
My home theater is better than both of those as I am the only one in and it's tuned exactly for me. Plus I'm not sitting so far away, or paying a hundred dollars for food. Pass on IMAX and Dolby all day theater experience all day. You cant pay me to go to a theater in 2024. Also, who is Furiosa? Nobody wants to or needs to see this.
@@AlwayzFresh I understand where you’re coming from. But not going out to support the movie will prevent more movies like this that you enjoy from being made. They need to make money at the box office. Please go support movies you want to see!
I have already seen Furiosa three times in theater. I think the action editing and cinematography are overall more polished than they were in Fury Road, not that Fury Road isn't a masterpiece already. The visual effects don't bother me because the scenes fit together well, and Furiosa has a lot more variety in its scope than the hyper-focused story of Fury Road.
I did my part by seeing this thrice in cinemas: twice in Dolby and last weekend in standard digital. If I'm able to have a dedicated home theater one day, this film, particularly the Stowaway sequence, will be one of my go-to demos.
The whole movie is an eargasmic experience, but the sound effects and bass on that thunderbike is topped only by the sound of dom's 1st charger in f&f 1. Fury road had some great engine roars, but nothing that shook me like the thunderbike
Don’t worry Shane I saw them theaters, I’m not like some of these home theater guys, I choose to go during the day on Tuesdays, so I don’t deal with riffraff, I will definitely be picking this up on 4K Blu-ray
I saw it twice. Once in IMAX and once at a local art house theater. The saturation was far more controlled on the imax laser projection. Still too saturated for my taste, but it looked less like a cartoon.
Don't worry Shane! I saw Furiosa for the one Week it was at my Sugarloaf Mills AMC Dolby Cinema theater. And it was quite a visual\ and audio feast! Thanks for the review. And I plan to do a double feature watching "Furiosa" and "Mad Max: Fury Road" once I get "Furiousa" on 4k blu-ray. I do have a question which was better with "Mad Max: Fury Road" 4k blu-ray? or blu-ray 3-D back in 2015?
Loved the movie when I saw it on IMAX and I preferred the story over the one of Fury Road. Yes Fury Road is a masterpiece, but Furiosa for me personally is a bit better. Didn’t like the beginning of the movie that much, but man there’s a moment when it starts and it was goosebumps till the end. Definitely gonna pick this one up. Anya Taylor-Joy is a beast.
I purchesed it on google play/tv. No atmos track available, only 5.1. Front channel separation weak and dialog was weak and muted. Sound quality was disappointing, but video quality was great. Using marantz neural x helped to add some sound to my atmos speakers.
Mr. Shane. Can you start telling us how many channels the audio is mixed in? I’m starting to notice some of the digital iTunes movies are showing a higher channel count than my 4K rips in the ATMOS viewer.
Has anyone experienced that this movie was pretty quiet in the theatre? Even the action scenes were nowhere near as intense as in Fury Road... I watched Dune Part 2 in the same room which sounded pretty great... Hmm..
Theaters still have a volume control. Maybe you went there one day when it was turned down. This has happened many times at multiple theaters I go to often. Sometimes too low sometimes too loud.
@@madhousenetwork interesting. Theres a whole section pointing out which version this is. Actually two sections. Three sections if you read the video description 🤔🤦🏻♂️🤣
I noticed that as well. We watched Furiosa and then Mad Max Fury Road afterwards, both on Blu Ray. Honestly I thought Fury Road blew it out of the water.
The review is better than the film! 😂 - I thought the film was average and didn’t have the pace of Fury Road (also it had Carlize Theron in it) Defo a fan of Fury Road over Furiosa.
While not the action masterpiece that is Fury Road (which is a very tall order to live up to) I still really liked the film, will definitly buy the 4k disc.
I liked the film but the amount of green screen/cgi really brought me out of it more than it should have. Fury road didn’t suffer with this at all and the 4k is just gonna make it more obvious
Watching in the theater is a no go for me . Last movie I watched and super excited for was Top Gun Maverick and it was ruined by some stupid kids and throwing popcorn around, theater staff was useless. That’s where I began the construction of my dedicated room and went balls deep with Trinnov, Kaleidescape, and JVC
I almost always go fairly early in the afternoon and the middle of the week when it’s quiet, in some cases, might even wait a week until the screenings are quieter. The things we do for a bit of piece of quiet.
@TravisHouze Definitely good advice, going on a weekday or last few days of the imax showing or a 2pm showing for an almost if not completely empty room.
Last month I went to theatre and idiots doesn't change a bit even in 2024.morons came with a baby who don't know how to shut mouth..and 5 year old f*ers are the worst ..they kept on kicking the back of my seat for 2hours 30 minutes straight.I dream about a decent home theatre
I seen it in dolby atmos in cinema,i really enjoy this movie, defo i gonna buy in 4k when it coming out in uk,great review, thanks alot. Mad max fury road better in my opinion.
My home theater is better than any IMAX cinema. I dont have to pay $100 for food and drinks and I can eat and drink whatever I want. Visuals and sounds are BETTER at my home setup than in any theater, since it is tuned exactly how I like it. You cannot pay me to see a movie in a theater in 2024 as the experience is better in every single way at home for a fraction of the price. Movie theaters can go away for ever now. They lost the plot. Also if Hollywood insists on making movies like Furiosa, it wont even matter.
Watched it at an Atmos cinema Absolutely loved it Atmos mix was outstanding Plenty of LFE PQ was very nice Cant wait to watch this on disc when its finally released in Australia in probably 6 months time lol

The new theater tour.
Soon
I also saw this at a Dolby Cinema and found myself cranking it up to match the same experience I had at the theater😂

Go on the weekday to the theater on an early first showing or the last showing of the day. Less likely to deal with the crowd
