Having been on a number of passion projects I know what everyone went through to make this, and the drive and commitment to make it happen. Congratulations to EVERYONE for what you've made here. This shows what talent and desire can do outside of the "mainstream" film media....with so much less money. Hopefully someone will recognize this and bring resources for the next project. This is an awesome achievement. Production value is so high, and paid for with sweat, no sleep, sacrifice, putting families on hold, and determination. You nailed it. What a talented bunch of people.
The fact that this is 10x better than most big time budget productions speaks volumes. Not only that, but it's clearly paying tribute to the 2015 video game and is just pure perfection!
It's a hell of a coincidence that this movie had a stuffed animal for the child be as much as a narrative device as the new Mad Max movie that only came out a few days ago. Uncanny. Great work.
Probably not a coincidence since game version of Glory is apparently based on Miller's concept later reused for young Furiosa (daughter of Dementus, has a teddy bear keepsake, watched her mother's murder etc)
This is excellent! Full stop. I wish we had a film industry that respected the actual fanbase and audience and source material (took the effort to write with genuine creativity original projects for entertainment not other ambitions). Independent productions, fan creations are something you look forward to more than lame ass big studio with lame ass big cinema releases nowadays. The indie scene is just full of dope talent right now, it’s exciting! I put this up there with Deadweight FO. I look forward to more from both production teams! Thank you for being cool.
I like the idea that mad max isn’t just one person, but a bunch of people, who share the same burden of pain and reluctant responsibility to (ironically despite having the name “mad max”) bring sanity to an insane world
This has been my favorite franchise since I was a little kid in the 80s. So much so I became a filmmaker after I left the Military. This is full on movie theater quality stuff. With what you guys had to work with this is astounding. Can't even imagine what you could do with time, permits, budget, stunt team and all that. Even without the big hollywood stuff mentioned above, this is Canon worthy. I truly hope George sees this and brings the team on board for the next flick. Also the leading man is destined for greatness for sure.
Very impressed. For a fan made movie, this was 100% engaging. Acting was great, effects were great, and the story was sound. It would be nice to see the actor who portrayed Max come back to do another. He was excellent. The car was a fantastic replica and convincing (The blower not so much but who cares!). Overall, I have to say BRAVO to the cast and team who put this together!
2nd time Ive watched this and wish it was a series. Fricken amazing. Little girl killed it and Max, well he was Max. Great acting, all the traits of Gibson.
Ok so, I started watching this thinking “oh cool so it’ll be like a story driven mad max, obviously without the car crashes and stuff for budget” and I was absolutely floored to see a car crash a few mins in. I’m watching a MAD MAX movie and a car crash took me COMPLETELY by surprise. How awesome is that?
I love some of the references to the Mad Max game like at 2:19 the way he's eating the dog food and throwing the can. And at 4:28 the way you can ram and destroy enemy vehicles. Or at 5:29 the way you drink water in the game same pose and everything. And finally at 28:15 the way you put the gas can into the back of your car in the game with the same sound effects too.

I loved it. Fantastic performance, amazing sets, great costumes and props, excellent writing, good story. Just all around good. If this were 40 years ago I could see this being shown in a theater. Bravo to all who made this you should be proud of this.
I've ignored this for a week now every time it popped up on my feed. Wrote it off. Balsy. Could never be good. How can a fan film embody an iota of the MAD MAX vibes. You need insane production values for that. But what a pleasant surprise. GREAT WORK! The cinematography is great! The car battle scenes are effective and don't look cheap.
Honestly, you should do your own Wasteland-Movie. The practical effects, the costumes and the worldbuilding look better and more interesting than in most current (professional) apocalyptic films. I really would like to see more of this, but on a big screen.
Didn't really know what to expect from this, but I really liked it. It captures Mad Max post-apocalyptic world perfectly. The actor does a great job portraying Max. I felt the script also was well written and pays homage to the original films. I particularly liked the bones of a ruined city, something new that we really haven't seen in the Mad Max world. I also really liked too that even though Max is a haunted loner, he still questions himself, revealing his humanity. Hes not just a killer that has lost all hope, though he might appear that way on the surface. Deep down, hope is still trying to pierce through the clouds of insanity that is the world and experience he lives on a daily basis. I will be recommending this to my friends. Well done.
Speaking as a huge fan of the game, this was great to see the Hope and Glory side mission done as a film (with a few minor changes). Fantastic work. Translating the game to screen makes sense, as the Hope and Glory storyline came directly from Miller's own documents and scripts that Warner had ownership of at the time. Some of it was from the unproduced "Wasteland" film. This was brilliantly done on all fronts. And just speaking as a Max fan, in general, I can't thank you enough, as it's another film to add to my marathons. It's that well done.
If we quote the magnificent FURY ROAD, it should feel right. Our sound-team recorded our V8 for two days and delivered the elements, so the sound-designer could bring the roaring Interceptor to life.

Even if not every shot we filmed ended up in the final movie, your energy translates to the screen and makes for memorable moments. Especially the close-up of the eye, the raiding-scenes in the beginning and the visions make an impact. i love the fact that max kinda looks like a cross of Gibson and Hardy’s portrayals of the character hell even with some of the video game added for additional detail

A a long-term devotee of the original Mad Max saga, I must say that the effort, the attention to detail as well as the love you have all put into this project is inspiring. It is a wonderful homage to the films and rarely has such high quality been witnessed in a fan film. Congratulations to you all for persevering with this project, it cannot have been easy (or cheap) to produce but it is fans like you who keep Max moving across the Wasteland, in the last of the V8 Interceptors. It would have been a shame to blow it up. Love and respect to you all.
This might be the fist Fanfilm I have seen, that feels like part of the Universe. I think George Miller couldn't had done it much better. This looks very professional.

Aus Filmemacher-Sicht absolut hochwertig, allein, wenn man im Abspann sieht mit was für Produkten gearbeitet wurde (ARRI, Aputure, Dolby...). Aber all das sind nur Werkzeuge, die nichts wären, wenn es kein gutes Drehbuch und kein gutes Team im Hintergrund gäbe. Dieser Film hätte auf jeden Fall millionenmal mehr Daumen hoch verdient!

I haven't read the graphic novels, but the little I've seen from online reviews this explains hope and glory, and the girl we see max imagined at the beginning of fury road. As a fan of the game, I picked up so many characters, moves, etc. Reversal, meele weapon exec--ion, top dog, 2 finishers. This is very well done and very entertaining. The passion in this project really comes through. Thank you to all involved for this return to the wasteland.

There's one element here that is beautifully taken from the original 1979, and Mad Max 2 The Road Warrior that Beyond thunderdome and Fury Road was missing. And thats Max being MAD at the end and bloodthirsty for vengeance. Real beautiful!

This fan film is absolutely amazing and I loved the whole thing, but i was bummed when Griffa didn't get any other scene besides 1:17 he's imo the best character from the Mad Max game and is an underrated Mad Max character in general, really hope he shows up at least once in one of Miller's future Mad Max movies
Well done. Daniel Graves did an excellent job bringing this version of Max to life. Love the Romero colour pallet. Props and Art Direction are fantastic, The sound design is really well done. I know how hard it is to make a film, this was awesome.

If I hadn't known in advance that this work was a fan film for fans of the MAD Max series, I would probably have waited for a release date to buy my next cinema ticket. I mean wow! What kind of tear have we just been behind us? Everything just fit there. At this point, I would like to express my absolute respect to the entire team, in front of and behind the camera. You can feel the love and passion you have put into this project. Special praise goes to the young lady, who is putting on an incredible performance just at the end of the film. I can't say in words how proud we are right here on land what you have put together. Hollywood watch out, a storm is on 💪🏻
This was more than good.....excellent work with limited indie budget practical and CGI effects was on spot nothing was out of place really well put together clearly made by people who love and appreciate Mad Max saga also main actor did fantastic job!!! Keep up the good work guys!!!

The part where the daughter dies is one of the most heartbreaking scenes ive ever seen. She died with terror and hopelessness in her eyes. Just crushing. GREAT movie.
Wow! Einfach groß! Die Effekte, Makup/Maske, die Action, Kameraführung, Vertonung, Ausstattung, die Kulissen! Man sieht die Liebe und Leidenschaft für dieses Projekt in jeder einzelnen Einstellung. Die Besetzung macht ihre Sache auch top. 10/10 für einen Fanfilm, obwohl man diesen Zusatz eigentlich weglassen kann, dieser Film sieht nicht schlechter aus als ein guter 80er Actionfilm, oft sogar besser. Kritik hätte ich nur gehabt hätte Urlag seine Karte nicht wiederbekommen.

I wish we had a film industry that respected the actual fanbase and audience and source material (took the effort to write with genuine creativity original projects for entertainment not other ambitions). Independent productions, fan creations are something you look forward to more than lame ass big studio with lame ass big cinema releases nowadays. The indie scene is just full of dope talent right now, it’s exciting!

Great Movie, reminds me the spirit of the first 3 movies of the franchise with low budget but great story, really deserve to be canon.

This has been my favorite franchise since I was a little kid in the 80s. So much so I became a filmmaker after I left the Military. This is full on movie theater quality stuff. With what you guys had to work with this is astounding. Can't even imagine what you could do with time, permits, budget, stunt team and all that. Even without the big hollywood stuff mentioned above, this is Canon worthy. I truly hope George sees this and brings the team on board for the next flick. Also the leading man is destined for greatness for sure.
Very impressed. For a fan made movie, this was 100% engaging. Acting was great, effects were great, and the story was sound. It would be nice to see the actor who portrayed Max come back to do another. He was excellent. The car was a fantastic replica and convincing (The blower not so much but who cares!). Overall, I have to say BRAVO to the cast and team who put this together!

Ok so, I started watching this thinking “oh cool so it’ll be like a story driven mad max, obviously without the car crashes and stuff for budget” and I was absolutely floored to see a car crash a few mins in.
I’m watching a MAD MAX movie and a car crash took me COMPLETELY by surprise. How awesome is that?

I love some of the references to the Mad Max game like at 2:19 the way he's eating the dog food and throwing the can. And at 4:28 the way you can ram and destroy enemy vehicles. Or at 5:29 the way you drink water in the game same pose and everything. And finally at 28:15 the way you put the gas can into the back of your car in the game with the same sound effects too.
Happy you noticed these little nods. There is a lot more for Mad Max 1, Road Warrior, Thunderdome, the Graphic Novel and Fury Road of course.

I loved it. Fantastic performance, amazing sets, great costumes and props, excellent writing, good story. Just all around good. If this were 40 years ago I could see this being shown in a theater. Bravo to all who made this you should be proud of this.
It absolutely scratches an itch to see Max be able to use and keep the Black on Black thoughout the whole thing. So satisfying !

I've ignored this for a week now every time it popped up on my feed. Wrote it off. Balsy. Could never be good. How can a fan film embody an iota of the MAD MAX vibes. You need insane production values for that. But what a pleasant surprise. GREAT WORK! The cinematography is great! The car battle scenes are effective and don't look cheap.

One of the absolute best fan film I ever watched... entertaining, nice story and great visuals... must have costed a buck or two to produce this one.
Honestly, you should do your own Wasteland-Movie. The practical effects, the costumes and the worldbuilding look better and more interesting than in most current (professional) apocalyptic films. I really would like to see more of this, but on a big screen.
Didn't really know what to expect from this, but I really liked it. It captures Mad Max post-apocalyptic world perfectly. The actor does a great job portraying Max. I felt the script also was well written and pays homage to the original films. I particularly liked the bones of a ruined city, something new that we really haven't seen in the Mad Max world. I also really liked too that even though Max is a haunted loner, he still questions himself, revealing his humanity. Hes not just a killer that has lost all hope, though he might appear that way on the surface. Deep down, hope is still trying to pierce through the clouds of insanity that is the world and experience he lives on a daily basis. I will be recommending this to my friends. Well done.

Speaking as a huge fan of the game, this was great to see the Hope and Glory side mission done as a film (with a few minor changes). Fantastic work. Translating the game to screen makes sense, as the Hope and Glory storyline came directly from Miller's own documents and scripts that Warner had ownership of at the time. Some of it was from the unproduced "Wasteland" film. This was brilliantly done on all fronts. And just speaking as a Max fan, in general, I can't thank you enough, as it's another film to add to my marathons. It's that well done.

33:15 The Fury Road-esque Blower fire up gave me chills and I love it.
If we quote the magnificent FURY ROAD, it should feel right. Our sound-team recorded our V8 for two days and delivered the elements, so the sound-designer could bring the roaring Interceptor to life.
I'm 3 minutes in and the atmosphere you guys have captured here is giving me chills.

A a long-term devotee of the original Mad Max saga, I must say that the effort, the attention to detail as well as the love you have all put into this project is inspiring. It is a wonderful homage to the films and rarely has such high quality been witnessed in a fan film. Congratulations to you all for persevering with this project, it cannot have been easy (or cheap) to produce but it is fans like you who keep Max moving across the Wasteland, in the last of the V8 Interceptors. It would have been a shame to blow it up. Love and respect to you all.

Das Ende ist natürlich extrem traurig und schade, aber was die Leistung aller Beteiligten angeht, muss man sagen: Hut ab! Aus Filmemacher-Sicht absolut hochwertig, allein, wenn man im Abspann sieht mit was für Produkten gearbeitet wurde (ARRI, Aputure, Dolby...). Aber all das sind nur Werkzeuge, die nichts wären, wenn es kein gutes Drehbuch und kein gutes Team im Hintergrund gäbe. Dieser Film hätte auf jeden Fall millionenmal mehr Daumen hoch verdient!

I haven't read the graphic novels, but the little I've seen from online reviews this explains hope and glory, and the girl we see max imagined at the beginning of fury road. As a fan of the game, I picked up so many characters, moves, etc. Reversal, meele weapon exec--ion, top dog, 2 finishers. This is very well done and very entertaining. The passion in this project really comes through. Thank you to all involved for this return to the wasteland.
Wow. I didn’t expect the level of detail and quality when I first tapped on but loved every minute of the film. Made me want more and for the film to not end. Sequel?

There's one element here that is beautifully taken from the original 1979, and Mad Max 2 The Road Warrior that Beyond thunderdome and Fury Road was missing.
And thats Max being MAD at the end and bloodthirsty for vengeance. Real beautiful!

This fan film is absolutely amazing and I loved the whole thing, but i was bummed when Griffa didn't get any other scene besides 1:17 he's imo the best character from the Mad Max game and is an underrated Mad Max character in general, really hope he shows up at least once in one of Miller's future Mad Max movies
The Griffa cameo was not planned and the idea came up in the moment on location in Spain. The sun went down, so could not shoot more scenes with him
Well done. Daniel Graves did an excellent job bringing this version of Max to life. Love the Romero colour pallet. Props and Art Direction are fantastic, The sound design is really well done. I know how hard it is to make a film, this was awesome.

Are you kiddin? Sounds are all on the same lvl. U must have a main sound and back. And something must be lower or higher to not fight with another sound. In this i hear every sound very clearly. Its bad

I never comment but I had to come on here and say. This is the best fan made production I have ever seen. Totally and completely better then most huge Hollywood films these days. Kudos to Brightstone Pictures, will be looking forward to their future projects!

The part where the daughter dies is one of the most heartbreaking scenes ive ever seen. She died with terror and hopelessness in her eyes. Just crushing. GREAT movie.
This raises the bar for fan film releases. Miller needs to watch it. I hope he does and supports it ❤

Wow! Einfach groß! Die Effekte, Makup/Maske, die Action, Kameraführung, Vertonung, Ausstattung, die Kulissen! Man sieht die Liebe und Leidenschaft für dieses Projekt in jeder einzelnen Einstellung. Die Besetzung macht ihre Sache auch top. 10/10 für einen Fanfilm, obwohl man diesen Zusatz eigentlich weglassen kann, dieser Film sieht nicht schlechter aus als ein guter 80er Actionfilm, oft sogar besser. Kritik hätte ich nur gehabt hätte Urlag seine Karte nicht wiederbekommen.
Meine fresse ist das ein wahnsinnig guter film geworden, großen großen respekt fantastischer film !!!
